nullHello,
Yes, he is running windows on a virtual machine on the Mac. We've tried installing several times and always end up with the same result; the launch page shows interface for the web and admin but does not give him excel. I've asked him to uninstall BPC and then run the installation again.
Is there anything else we should be checking?
thank you

I am trying to find a trial version of Oracle 8i (8.1.5.0.4) Enterprise Edition for Netware to test with Novell Zenworks for Servers 3.0. Problem installing 8.1.6 Oracle for Netware
I'm new to Oracle. I tried to install several times Oracle for Netware 8.1.6 and the Java installer says that the installation is OK.
But the file to load Oracle, ORALOAD.NCF is empty !!!
What can I do ??
Thanks in advance..I head that the NT 8.1.6 release was delayed a bit more, possibly until March 2000 time frame.

Which network is Oracle using for RAC traffic ? where you will get info ? ?
Hi,
I am using two node RAC on Oracle 10g R2 (10.2.0.3.0) version on SUN Solaris 10 . I want to know "Which network is Oracle using for RAC traffic ? where you will get info "
--KumarHi Kumar,
In 10g, you can query x$ksxpia. If the cluster_interconnect information is stored in OCR (default), you will get
SQL> select INST_ID,PUB_KSXPIA,PICKED_KSXPIA, NAME_KSXPIA,IP_KSXPIA from x$ksxpia;
If you specified the cluster_interconnects parameter in your init.ora:
Columns to look in : INST_ID P PICK NAME_KSXPIA IP_KSXPIA
And also you can use 'oradebug ipc' to see which interconnects the database is using:
SQL> oradebug setmypid
SQL> oradebug ipc
Hope it helps...
Thanks

Error fetching data from a foxpro db using Oracle Gateway for ODBC
Hi.
I have an 10.2.0.1 database an a 11.2.0 Oracle Gateway for ODBC installed and configured.
The dblink test works fine, I can connect with the foxpro database because if I execute desc centros I can see the
columns of table centros.
The problem comes when I try to execute Select * from centros@fox1;
A syntax error is returned ([Microsoft][ODBC Visual FoxPro Driver]Syntax error. {42000,NativeErr = 200})
I paste down the output of the trace file with HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL=255
If I run select codcen from centros@fox1; another error is shown. Tell me if you want the other trace file.

Only 10.2.0.4 or 10.2.0.5 can be used as the Oracle database HS kernel requires a gateway compatibility patch and this patch is included in 10.2.0.4 or 10.2.0.5 Oracle database patch set.
Then another error in the trace is that for each column description you have an error:

It seems it is not critical as DG4ODBC continues, but a more detailed analysis would require an ODBC trace.
When looking at the table description it seems the column names are all in lower letters, for example: solar. So commonly Dg4ODBC needs to quote the names

and according to the trace the FoxPro ODBC driver doesn't like these quotes and reports a syntax error.
So this explains at least why select codcen from centros@fox1 will fail. In general the Oracle database is case insensitive and translates all object names to upper case and the select it will pass to the foreign database would be similar to:
select CODCEN from CENTROS => which will fail as FoxPro is case sensitive. So the error message ORA-00904 (missing column name) is correct and the statement you need to use is:
select "codcen" from centros@fox1;
But this might lead again to the Syntax error you got earlier => You need to check which sign (single quote, back tick, double quote) Foxpro uses to quote object names and then set the gateway parameter HS_FDS_QUOTE_IDENTIFIER accordingly.
To check which character can be used to quote column/table names you might use the Microsoft ODBc test utility which was distributed in the old MDAC 2.8:

Installing Oracle Services for MTS (9.2) on a 8.1.7 Database
Hello,
I'm trying to run the script oramtsadmin.sql which comes with the Oracle Services for MTS 9.2 on a 8.1.7 database.
When trying to compile the UTL_ORAMTS package I get the following error:
The following error has occurred:
PACKAGE BODY MTSSYS.UTL_ORAMTS
On line: 0
PLS-00908: The stored format of UTL_ORAMTS is not supported by this release
Any idea where I can find a copy of this wrapped package that can be compiled on a 8.1.7 database ?
thx,
Piet NeyrinckI have the same problem. The documentation sayes that it will work with 8.1.7, but when I run the script I get the same error
