Where is PatternMaker PS-CS4? ... after plugin install

I've spent well over a day researching this. I have CS4 and lucky me, I have to install the plugin for Patternmaker. After finally finding the download file (and no it wasn't on my Application disk) I've carefully followed the instructions in the Plugins ReadMe file - doing everything several times over. I've copied the file ("PatternMaker.8BF") to the Plug-ins/Filters folder under the Program Files (x86) (I have Vista 64-bit)  Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS4 folder and I can see the file in the filters folder, but cannot find it after I open PS and search for it.
The only question I had with regard to the instructions is that the instructions said something about unchecking UAC. However, I have admin rights and when the message pops up asking for permission to continue, I click OK. I have not received any permission rights messages. so I'm assuming this is not the problem. (However, I will say that my freebie Fonts package did not load either when I tried to install that.)

I opened the Goodies/English/Plug-ins 64-bit/Filters and copied the patternMaker.8BF into both (for good measure):
Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS4 (64 Bit)/Plug-ins/Filters
Program Files (x86)/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS4/Plug-ins/Filters
I initially tried the 2nd one, then the first one, then both. I can see the patternmaker.8bf in both folders.
Am I looking for pattern maker in the right place? I was told to look for it under Filters > patter maker. However, I've looked just about everywhere in PS.

  • Avi file won't import into Premiere CS4 after re installing

    Recently I purchased a new PC (Windows 7 64 bit, i7 processor). I re installed Premiere Pro CS4 and copied over my project files from my old system (Windows Vista 64 bit, AMD quad core processor). I attempted to load a project that was created on the old system, which contained an avi file that was done in AE CS5, the avi file was not downloaded from a camera. When Premiere kept locking up when I attempted to load the project, I finally figured out that it was getting hung up trying to load this avi file. After further investigation, I found that the avi file wouldn't play using any type of player, including WM Player, and DivX player. Funny enough, QT played the file, but only after a delay of about 10 minutes before opening. All of the posts I've seen on the forums indicate codec issues. I've installed three different codes, and used gspot to inspect the file and it indicated "no codec needed".
    I must reiterate that on my old system, the file was created in AE CS5 and exported as an avi, and works fine.

  • Place in Indesign Missing from CS4 after CS5 install

    I have noticed that on two of our macs after installing CS5 that the Place in Indesign command in CS4 bridge is no longer appearing in the list anymore, all other choices are there, Does anyone have a fix for this. - thanks!

  • Trouble after plugin install

    I am running Windows 7 64 bit and Creative Cloud on my desktop and lapop. Yesterday, I installed the fine Teacup Typefitter Pro for InDesign CC plugin. Today if I attempt to open InDesign by clicking on an INDD file in Windows Explorer, the program stalls after a few seconds. Then if I attempt to open the program with the desktop icon, it will not open, nor will it open with by going the Windows Explorer click-on-INDD file route.
    So I restart the computer and then click on the INDD desktop icon and the progam opens and operates normally. Then I close the program, take a break, come back, click on the INDD desktop icon and the program will not open. So I restart and open the program with the desktop icon and it operates normally. After I shut INDD down and later attempt a restart, the program will not open ... and I do he restart procedure again.
    When I attempt opening on the laptop, the same circumstances occur. I have tried deleting preferences, changing administators, and opening as administrator, none of which solve the problem.
    I have used the plugin for numerous versions of INDD and find that it works seamlessly and flawlessly, so I am reluctant to point the finger in that direction. On the other hand, INDD in both machines operated normally until the install. I have tried Adobe Tech support and he guy punted to "Escalated service," which will call be back in 24 hours. In the meantime, does anyone have any bright ideas?

    There are no "SING" folders in either installation.

    I got an email from Adobe Support with the solution. Here it is and it worked:
    If you have 64 bit computer, navigate to the below location.
    C:\Program Files(X86)\Common Files\Adobe folder\SL Cache folder.
    Move the contents of SL Cache to desktop.
    Click on Start button, type %appdata% and press enter.
    You will be able to view Roaming folder.
    Click on 'Appdata' in the address bar , open Local/Adobe folder.
    Locate the folder named 'AAMUpdater' and 'OOBE' and rename it to AAMUpdaterold' and 'OOBEold'.
    Once you are done with the above steps, click on Start button>All Programs.
    Locate and launch the Creative Cloud desktop application.
    Then try launching the Creative Cloud products and check if you　are able to launch the products without any issues.  
    I was not able to rename the OOBE folder, but the process worked any way.

  • Can I deactivate cs4 after I installed cs5?

    I installed and activated cs5 and already had cs4 running on pc.  I want to transfer cs4 to colleague so I need to deactivate cs4 and uninstall.  Can I do deactivate and uninstall cs4 safely after I have installed and used cs5?  Thanks for any advice

    If you don't want to keep the older version:
    uninstall the older version first, BEFORE installing the new version.
    The Adobe Uninstallers have a nasty habit of messing with essential support files of the new version because they mistake them for the older versions.  When that happens, you have to jump through hoops just to uninstall the damaged version, as not even the Uninstaller will work on it. (You would need something called the CS3Clean Script, CS4Clean Script aor CS5Clean.  Avoid having to go there.  Honest.)
    All Adobe upgrades are FULL INSTALLERS.  The Upgrade installer will simply ask you for the old serial numbers when it doesn't find an older qualifying version installed.
    Once more:
    Do NOT uninstall an older version after upgrading to a new one; do it BEFORE.

  • Broken interface, Safari 5.1 on Lion, after plugin install

    Greetings,
    today I had to install a stupid third-party plugin just to download a big file sent by a client. The name of the offending plugin is “Aspera Connect”, and it supposedly installs a plugin for both Safari and Firefox. The plugin worked, and I could download the file, but just before that I noticed that, upon restarting Safari, the interface was altered. Please see the attached capture: both the address bar and the upper part of the window has a different color now.
    To try to prevent it from loading, I tried to rename the plugin, which is found inside /Library/Internet Plug-Ins, but Safari still has the same ugly look. It works, but after restarting it many times (as well as the computer) it still looks the same.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks for the quick help, Carolyn, but I just tried that and the interface still looks the same. I checked the installed plugins (Help menu > Installed Plug-ins) and it doesn't show up, so it hasn't been loaded.
    Is there any way to restore Safari 5.1 to its original state?

  • Where is my library folder after Lion install?

    I lost my library folder under user after intalling the Lion...
    What happened?
    Actullay I experienced several times before,
    First sign is I got a messege my backup was not working due to volume insuffcient volume.
    and I realized Suddenly my used volume of hard drive was increased up to near 1 TB from 600G.
    I've checked and found the mail folder under library had 300G file due to some reason...
    I removed it, and backup was working.
    At this time I experienced same thing, but this time I cannot find my library folder or mail folder,
    and mail was frequently down.
    What should I do?
    At least I retrieve my library folder....

  • Help with InDesign CS4 after re-installing

    My iMac's hard drive had to be replaced due to a recall.  When back-up operation was done, Design Premium CS4 did not transfer. I uninstalled and reinstalled according to Adobe tech support's instructions. Now my InDesign does not work. It will open, but there are hardly any features. What should I do? Please, please help.     What does "hardly any features" mean? Are tools not avialable? Palettes missing? Are ther any warnings/ errors during program startup? sounds like none of the core plug-ins are loading....

  • How did my desktop appear on another computer after Leopard install?

    I have a Mac G5 connected by ethernet to a cable company. I bought a MacBook for Chicago which is 2,000 miles away. After upgrading my G5 with Leopard I physically took the Leopard CD to Chicago and installed it on my MacBook in Chicago where I have wireless (router) After the install, my desktop was duplicated on this MacBook from the G5 in California. I never had these two computers connected, nor have I ever done a file sharing manipulation between these two computers.
    One of the files on the desk top on my MacBook, when opened reveals all my files just like the one in CA except I can't open any of them because the program cannot be found. That is not suprising at all because I never installed any of these programs.
    One program did open and can be used however and that is PhotoShop which I use lot on my G5. I never installed that program on my MacBook.
    How did this stuff get on my MacBook? I believe there is a bug in the Leopard CD that performs all the functions I could do manually to get this desk top to duplicate.

    Ok no difference, I don't get any drive errors that seem significant or numerous, sometimes I don't get any at all, the disk always verifies and I haven't had to run a repair on it yet. I've gotton one or two drive errors, I'll save them next time I run either DU or DW.... however with permissions, there are a lot and they all fix (except: see below: Last 3: ACL errors are always there) but as I keep having to do force quits and system re boots they keep coming back; posted them below IDK if this will help you to help me, LOL... but figured it couldn't hurt, the ones below are re-occuring I know i've seen them b4. . .  Don't know if this makes a difference but on initial install I had several font conflicts w/system fonts, I renamed suitcases and that error message hasn't come back . . . but do you think this could be a font issue . . . I have like 12,000 fonts of which a couple hundred are ususally always active . . . IDK it doesn't make sense to me it would be, but you never know... just a shot in the dark
    I also saved my last PS crash report and it was like 100 Pages long, I've never seen one that long, I make a pdf of it and post link to my idisk, if its something that you can interpet.

  • CS4 After Effects no longer loading after installing Office 08

    During the christmas break I installed Office 08 and its seamed to have mucked something up in CS4 After effects because it won't load anymore, the program starts loading the libraries and all that stuff at the splash screen and crashes when loading User interface
    After effects worked fine before I installed office 08. Does anyone know what has happened and how to fix it? The strange thing is, it works on a couple of macs but the majority of the lab is having this problem.
    I have tried heaps of things:
    - Totally uninstalled office 08 and its preferences
    - Uninstall CS4 and manually remove all the preference files
    - Locate the fonts folders and comparing the fonts with that of a working mac
    - Creating a new login account
    - Updated to After effects 9.0.2
    After spending hours and hours and hours doing this, I have had no luck solving the issue. Help will be greatly appreciated... I will backup all the data and re-install Leopard next week if no-one knows how to fix this.

    The failure appears to be in the FLV QuickTime component, which is an FLV exporter for QuickTime that Adobe Flash (or older Macromedia releases) installs into your [root]/Library/QuickTime folder.  After Effects loads any such component that QuickTime makes available (they appear under the File > Export menu).
    First, try deleting the com.macromedia.FLVExporter in your [username]/Library/Preferences folder, if present.  Failing that, pull out the FLV QuickTime component I described above.
    It is also theoretically possible that the failure is in the next component in the QuickTime components folder, not the FLV component.  You might could just pull out the entire contents of that folder and see what happens.

    If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand,
    such as your platform (Mac or Win),
    exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CS6", but something like CS6v.13.0.6) and of Bridge,
    your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
    the type of file you were working on,
    machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,
    what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far,
    what error message(s) you receive,
    if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
    if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
    A screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too,
    etc.,
