Where is public radio in iTunes 9?

I went to listen to my morning NPR station, but once I clicked on the "public radio" folder in the new iTunes, it vanished. What's up? Did Apple decide to only list commercial stations? Is this in keeping with the dumbing down of Apple, akin to their not having a "foreign films" category on the iTV? The public radio category was a fantastic resource; please bring it back.

The issue of NPR's Flash format is somewhat misleading, as listeners don't usually access shows directly from NPR.org. Listeners can access podcasts from NPR.org, but in almost all cases they access shows (a) from stations, the better to ensure that listeners become contributors; or (b) from show websites that cater to those who can't tune in a local station because there isn't one, reception is poor, or the listener is on the road.
Replacing the Public Radio file in iTunes is critical for us to have easy access to the addresses of the various individual radio stations, most of which are streamable and not necessarily in Flash.
Andy Carvin, NPR's social media person, has brought the issue of the missing iTunes folder to the attention of NPR's mobile team, which will approach Apple.
While I have everyone's attention, let me call your attention to the excellent PublicRadioFan.com (http://publicradiofan.com/) free service organized by FastCompany's Kevin Kelly. You can directly access stations around the world and in the U.S. from this website, which is arranged by content and time of day. An excellent service.

  • Public Radio Stations Removed from Itunes??

I recently clicked on the radio link in Itunes to look for an interview that I had hoped would be aired on a public radio station.
At first the public radio link was there. Then I clicked on it and it was gone. What's going on?
I've seen threads where people were saying that Apple had removed some radio categories. Could public radio be one of them?
If it has been removed, how can I get Apple to restore this category? If it has been incorporated into another category, shouldn't there be a search feature for the radio stations so we can at least search for stations we want?
    Thanks

Once you find a station you like, you can create a playlist and drag the station to that playlist, just like you do songs. Then you don't have to depend on iTunes to have it listed. But keep in mind that some stations change their stream URL and some change to a service not compatible with iTunes.
Any station that streams has a website with "listen" links on the home page. You can always use these to initiate a session in iTunes (if their stream is iTunes compatible). Don't forget to drag the iTunes listing to a playlist so you can find it easier.

  • ITunes 11.0.1 Where has the radio option gone from my source list on the left side of iTunes ? How can I restore it?

Where has the radio option gone from the source list on the left hand side of my itunes? How can I restore it

If you have it turned on it is now under the music section on the top where you have Songs, Albums etc. It is on the far right next to Match.
If you cannot see it then Preferences and Tick Radio Option
If it is still npt there the Preferences, Parental and untick Disable Radio

  • Where is the Radio button in iTunes

I want to listen to internet radio in iTunes but can't find the 'Radio' button anywhere.

Radio is in the sidebar. If you have iTunes 11, the sidebar is hidden, so select View menu > Show Sidebar. Finally, choose Radio in the sidebar

That's not how to do it. You don't move stuff then set the iTunes prefs > Advanced.
Once you move the /iTunes/ folder, hold Option, launch iTunes and select Choose library... and select the ITunes folder on the external.
This will use the iTunes library file in the iTunes folder you moved.
Don't change iTunes prefs > Advanced.

  • Where is file sharing in iTunes 12?

Where is file sharing in iTunes 12? I used to click on the iPhone or iPad device, then select the 'apps' tab and then file sharing apps like VLC would show at the bottom. Now clicking on the device doesn't do anything.

OK, I found it. In the upper left under the menu bar are some icons. Click on the iPhone icon, then select your device, iPad, iPhone, whatever. In the far left column that appears under your device, select apps. Then you'll see apps to the right of that column. Scroll down to the bottom and you'll find the file sharing apps.

  • Is it possible to create a public playlist on itunes?

A couple of years ago, iTunes users were able to create public playlists in iTunes for everyone to enjoy. They would create compilations of their favorite songs or score, and anyone could go through their selection and buy it if they like it. Does it still exist?

Unfortunately, no.  It disappeared somewhere around the release of iTunes 11 last year.

  • Where's the music on iTunes, and what's with the quality and compatibility?

I'm just curious as to whether anyone else has had this issue or not: Does anyone else feel like, after searching for specific songs, there's just little to nothing in the database? I feel like most of my searches are pointless because iTunes has either no data of my requested search and/or only has bits and pieces of it.
Another question I have: After having a slightly successful search, why am I left with low quality tunes? I mean, you can hear the compression... badly. (I know it's not my speakers)
Last question: If I'm paying for the song, shouldn't I be allowed to download a universal file? iTunes uses a unique format that no other application uses. In other words, more money has to be spend for m4a to mp3 converters (unless you're a cracker [not a racial comment]).
To me, I value iTunes and its team, so I'm sorry if I've offended anyone. I understand there are contracts involved with the artists and it's hard to please ALL of the subscribers. But seriously, where's the music on iTunes, and what's with the quality and compatibility?
Custom   Windows XP Pro   Negative, I am a meat popsicle.

Today I thought of finally putting lyrics on my songs. So I've been quite some time busy doing that, then I tried it on my iPad (2) and I can't find them. Just as the people above say. Then I went to search where I can find them and I found this page. I'm really dissapointed and I don't understand how something like this could happen. So I hope Apple will fix this soon.
(I'm just posting this so that Apple will do something about it)

Complain to Apple.  We're just other Mac users like you here and this really seems to be something at Apple's end.  Many seem to be having this problem, but some (like me) aren't.
