Just installed new Mac update and my typing is wrong

It only does this on firefox, I'm using chrome now to post here but..
I installed the update and now when I try to type in firefox, the letters are different. I type apple.com and it brings up my previous visits to apple.com but it shows up as "ettpi2gsq" in my address bar. Anyone else having this issue? I tried to update with firefox but there was none. It was fine before the new mac osx update

I'm having the same problem here. Had my logicboard replaced a couple of weeks ago and it was working honey sweet. Temps were in the 28 ~ 31 range. After the firmware this morning, my temps are at 67 ~69. Obvously there is a way of controlling the temps with the firmware, I hope apple fixes this quickly before I have another logic board fry on me.

My mission control key does not work with the new Mac update

The key on the keyboard doesnt work, neither does the button on my dock. Any help?

IPhoto won't open with the new Mac update

I just installed the new update for my desktop mac. iPhoto now wont open and there is a big circle with a line through it over the icon. When I try to open this application it says "you can not open iphoto because it is not supported on this type of mac" I have had my mac for over 2 years and use iPhoto everyday. Any help?

iPhoto versions older than 9.5.1 are incompatible with Mavericks. Version 9 or later should be eligible for a free upgrade to the current version in the App Store. Versions older than 9 will need a paid upgrade.

Help with new Mac update?

Hi! So when I logged on to my Mac this morning, I noticed there was a new update for the new iTunes 10.7, OSX 10.8.2, and MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.9. I want to get this new update, but near the "Update" button it says "waiting....". It has said that since I tried to do the update this morning about 6 hours ago. It also says "Restart Required", so I tried resetting my Mac but that didn't help. Any ideas? Thank you!

New Mac Update and FCP 7?

I'm always hesitant to do a Mac OS X update because of how it might affect FCP. I haven't done the 10.7.3 or 10.7.4 one yet because I am in the middle of projects and don't want to disrupt the workflow.
Anyone had any issues after doing the update? Thanks!

When you've got a stable os and app combo, clone your startup drive.

You can than update without worry.
If you've got a macpro, clone to a second internal drive and if things go south, you're back up and running in a minute or two.

Where is my n73 new firmware update

i heard that new firmware for n73 was released from nokia (V4.0723.2.0.1/06.06.07)and i tried to update my n73 firmware, but my NSU keep telling me that i already install latest firmware and i check on my phone, but that too disappointed that my n73 still not up to date (V3.0704.1.0.1). I want my n73 firmware to be update. It's not fair to users like me.
I hope nokia will overcome this problem.. I want my n73 firmware to be update.

Hi rouin - Although Nokia has released an updated firmware for the N73, it will only be for a certain product codes (you can find your product code under your battery compartment).
If you received your phone as part of a contract then your phone will be tied in to that network operator - e.g. Vodafone, Orange and so on. If this is the case then you will have to wait until they authorise the release of the firmware for the N73 - there's no way around this unfortunately.

Where did everyone's new Mac Pro ship from?

Mine shipped from "BLOOMINGTON, CA". And it only took 3 days, with FedEx Ground. Interesting, I thought it's manufactured in China?

I got a shipping notice for mine this evening. Fedex says they picked it up in Fullerton, CA.
My understanding is that Apple routinely does the CTO/BTO final configurations in the USA.

Just did a Mac update yesterday for Yosemite and I can not open a picture in elements with out it crashing. Spent over 4 hours with Mac and it came down to an Adobe Issue with the New Photo which is replacing the I photo. Elements does not recognize it,

Does anyone know a direct number for adobe that will not cost you to just ask about their program which will not work with a new mac update!

You can do that in iPhoto, too. Just go to the iphoto prefs>advanced, and set PSE as your external editor. Note that the actual editor is not the file at the top level of Applications>Adobe Photoshop Elements < version number >, but rather hidden away inside the Support Files folder:
Then you just right the click the photo in iphoto and choose edit with external editor.
If you have the new Photos app, you can't drag and drop, either.

I purchased four new MAC's one month ago; I was promised 'the Cloud'. Now I can't load it. Where do I get10.7.2? I am running10.6 and have todays updates but no 10.7!

First you need to update your Mac's to Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, you can download it a the app store. If you purchased your Mac's a month ago the download should be free take a look at this link, http://www.apple.com/macosx/uptodate/ After you updated your systems to Lion just click on the Apple menu item and click on software update it will update your version to Mac OS 10.7.2. Note: The last step is just incase the latest version of Lion is not at the App Store.

IPhone update on my new mac without losing my apps and media

So, I have an iPhone 3gs with software version 4.1 and an old 15" PowerBook G4 running OSX 10.4 Tiger. Ages ago iTunes kept telling me "This version of iTunes (9.2.1) is the current version" when I pressed to update my iphone on itunes. I soon found out it was because my iTunes was actually not up to date because I couldn't get the latest iTunes on Tiger. So I couldn't get the latest iOS on my iPhone until I had the latest iTunes, and I couldn't get the latest iTunes until I had a later OSX on my Mac. I didn't want to update to the latest OSX on my PowerBook because it seemed pointless, I was saving for a new computer...
My first gripe is that I couldn't update my iPhone to the latest iOS just because I was running an old OSX on my Mac; my friends with their grubby old PCs have got iOS 5 on their iPhones, I'm a longtime apple computer customer and I don't, how is that fair?
Fast forward to today, my new computer arrived. A shiny great big Mac Pro (I'm a sound engineer/music producer, I know it's still not really necessary, but I wanted it). Once again I've piled thousands of pounds into the Apple corporation. ITunes on the new machine is setup to my iTunes account, I find out I'm gonna have to transfer all my songs manually, there's no way of just getting your libraries to sync? Anyway to my main point... I plug my iPhone into the new Mac Pro and press update on iTunes and I get "Updating to iOS 5.0.1 will delete all of the apps and media, including iTunes Store purchases, on your iPhone. To preserve your content, apply this update on the computer where you sync apps, music, videos, and photos. Updating on this computer will only preserve contacts, calendars, text messages, and other settings". So... you want me to update my iPhone on the computer that can't update my iPhone...
I'm really trying hard not to swear...
Please somebody tell me there's a way I can update AND preserve all my content.
Maybe I can update on the new computer, lose the stuff, then go back and sync with the old computer??? All my media is backed up on there, including apps, surely this should work... But, would the old computer even let me touch the iPhone again after the update? I'm concerned, having experienced Apple's lack of backward compatibility (something I used to think they were quite good at), that it won't (touch wood the powerbook doesn't die before then).

First off...should have built your own Mac or have gotten a better Mac (the Mac Pro is outdated for the most part), but that is for a separate discussion and if you're happy, then that's what matters.
Second, you should be able to restore your media via Time Machine. Be careful with this next part.
Note that you do not HAVE to install iOS 5, unless you want iCloud and the new interfaces that come along with it (certain apps may also require iOS 5). iOS 5 is completely optional (except Apple will nag you to update). Just don't update the phone, you'll be able to sync as normal. You might lose your app data if you don't have iOS 4.3, but hopefully that isn't an issue. Since you have iTunes 9.2 on your Powerbook, you should be able to sync between both devices.

My new mac mini downloaded a firmware update. I saw this in apps but gave an error when launching. Now what?

Yesterday I received a new mac mini (actually, a refurbished one that was originally released in July, sold from Apple). It downloaded a bunch of stuff when I did the software update, including an EFI Firmware update for the mac mini.
As far as I can tell everything ran just fine. However, I noticed in my applications folder (possibly under "utilities" though I may be wrong), an item with the circle/slash through it. It was the firmware update. I tried to open it and I received a message that the application could not be opened because of a problem when downloading it.
I deleted the file, hoping the software update would catch it again, no luck.
This is a new system and I'm hesitant to start deleting receipts, library files, etc., on my own.
I did unplug it and re-boot. No change.
I checked for firmware updates and looked at my system info and it looks like I have the current version.
I tried to manually download the latest firmware update for my system and it told me that this software wasn't for my system, although I'm sure I downloaded the right file for my system.
Why would that app have the circle/slash through it but looked like it may have run based on my system info?
Should I do anything else at this point or just leave it alone?

I have a Mac Mini (mid-2011) with that same app circled out. I just left it as is in Utilities since I have no idea what it is and it's not hurting anything. Unfortunately, it won't show up in Installed Software.
You said you deleted the app file from Utilities. Is the Mac mini EFI Firmware Update.app still in your Trash? If so, why not just put it back and not worry about it?
As far as I know the firmware is installed. Check your System info by clicking  -> About This Mac -> More Info....-> System Report. Check the Hardware Overview and the Boot ROM Version:. It should be the same as my Mac Mini below if the EFI 1.3 firmware was installed.

Check your system preferences.
My copy of flash installed as a preferance pane.
If its there you will be able to check the current installed version and set preferences for flash and updating.
