Where is Search Button in Portfolio published to web?

While creating my portfolio in Acrobat 11 Pro, the search button is on the top right hand side of the window and works correctly. As soon as I publish the portfolio to a web, the button dissappears and I am left with just the "Layout" and  "Files" buttons. This happenes in Chrome and IE. How can I get the Search Button to appear?

OK I have now tried the search engine on the web site approach and it works to a certain extent in that it shows the documents containing the search term. Unfortunately it doesnt highlight the terms in the document in the same way that the Acrobat Search does, so the search term has to be entered again and again into each document found. Ideally I want to be able to use the standard Acrobat search within my web. Any ideas?

  • Hitting enter does not activate the Search Button

    I have a page where the Search Button is clicked to perform a search. The search button works ok when it is clicked. But nothing happens when the Enter key is pressed. I also want the searchAction to be called if the user hits the enter key.
    The code for the button is :
    <tr:panelButtonBar>
                            <tr:commandButton text="Search"
                                              onclick="validateRequiredFields(this)"
                                              action="#{amyBean.searchAction}"></tr:commandButton>
                      </tr:panelButtonBar>Thanks in advance .....

    The enter key will only invoke a button if the parent form has the focus and the desired button is the firstnext button after the focus.

  • In the address bar, how do you get rid of the Amazon button, the "e-pub catalogue" button and change my search button to Google vs Babylon? Where is the button beside the forward arrow that would allow you to see your current history of links?

    On my address bar, there is now a superfluous Amazon button at the right of the forward arrow where there used to be a button that would allow you to see your recent links. It's gone. In addition there is a useless "epub catalog" button and the search button is Babylon instead of Google. How do I go back to my working address bar.

    Right click the Back / Forward buttons to get a list of sites you visited.
    To reinstate Google as your search engine, do the following.
    * In the location bar, type '''about:config '''and hit Enter.
    * In the filter at the top, type: '''keyword.URL'''
    * Double click it and remove whatever's in there and replace it with http://www.google.com/search?q=
    * Go to File | Exit
    * Restart Firefox, go to the site you want to set as your homepage.
    * Go to '''Tools '''| '''Options '''| '''General'''.
    * Make sure it says "''Show My Homepage''" in the first dropdown menu.
    * Click the button called "'''Use Current Pages'''" to set the homepage to the one you have on the screen.
    The URL to add in "keyword.URL" becomes a link in this post, so right click it and choose "Copy Link Location" to copy it to the Windows clipboard. Then hit CTRL+V to paste it. Saves you having to type the whole thing.
    '''EDIT''': Remove the AmAzon button by right clicking a blank part of the tab bar and click '''Customize'''. Then drag it into the panel which opens.

  • Where is controls palette search button in 8.20?

    This is embarrassing!  I rely heavily on the control and function palette search buttons.  I updated to 8.20 and my control palette search button disappeared.  The function palette search button is in its normal place.  I've looked through Help and the Options popup but don't see a way to enable/disable the search button.  I need it back!

  • PDF Portfolio published as a website

    I published my PDF Portfolio as a website instead of linking to the actual PDF. It no longer has the search box in the upper right-hand corner like the PDF version does. How do you search the entire portfolio, or even a section, when it is an html?

    Having the web pages/files (the "website") you upload it a web server; in time Google, Bing and others will crawl the "pages" and then you can use the web search engine.
    Or install a web search engine on the local machine.
    Or use the OS's search engine to index and thus be able to search the files.
    Load faster? Ok (although I've some reservations on that).
    Print just a "section"? That can be done from the Portfolio (the Print dialog for Reader / Acrobat is very versatile - play with it...).

  • Add import button to portfolio layout?

    Hi all,
    I would like to create a psudo-application with acrobat X and portfolio sdk.
    I need to build a basic pdf portfolio creator application.
    Here is a simple explication of my idea:
    I create a pdf portfolio that will open fullscreen.
    The protfolio layout will provide buttons to add content/folders.
    There should be buttons to remove content/folders too.
    The last button should be: publish or save portfolio... (the user choose the portfolio name and save it for use with acrobat X reader).
    Is this project possible?
    What applications do I need? I own a CC subscription, so I have all adobe applications at disposal.
    Thanks in advance for any suggestion.
    Tony

    I expect this will be a continuing issue. Since you used LiveCycle Designer, you can not just replace the background PDF as can be done with Acrobat Form Tool forms. So unless you are doing something that requires LiveCycle Designer's form features, I would use Acrobat for the forms. Now if they can provide a Word doc or you can create a Word doc of the form and you have version 8 Professional or better, you could use the Run automatic form-field recognition.

  • Search button not displaying search results

    I have created a page where you enter a string and click a search button and it will display the file that contains that string. It works on one page but not any of the other pages I have created. I went to dkubiceck page and copied the code for the search button there.
    This is the code I used to run the query to bring up the document information:
    select score(1) relevance, filename,transcript_id,
    dbms_lob.getlength("trans_document") "trans_document"
    from transcript_documents
    where contains (trans_document, :P20_SEARCH, 1) > 0
    order by 1 desc
    I can run the script in sql workshop and it returns information but I can't get the page to display anything so I think it has something to do with the search button. Does it have something to do with the button request. I have the request as go which is what the Oracle Text for APEX tutorial indicates. I am at a loss as to why it is working in one place and not in another. HELP!!!!!!!

    I used the Using Oracle Application Express to Build
    Oracle Text Web Applications An Oracle White Paper documentation to create this button. The instructions to create the button is below.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/pdf/apex_text_application_v1.6.pdf
    To create a button to submit the search:
    1. Under Buttons, click the create icon ().
    2. For Region, select Search Terms(s).
    3. For Task, select Create a button displayed among this region’s items.
    4. For Button Name, enter P1_FIND.
    5. For Label, enter Find.
    6. For Button Style, select HTML Button.
    Run your page using the run page icon () and your development username and password. Your page should look similar to the following figure.
    This was the instructions to create the query region:
    To create a query region:
    1. Navigate back to the Page Definition for the Search page. You can do this by using the edit links at the bottom of the running page, Edit Page 1.
    2. Under Regions, click the create icon ().
    3. For Region Type, select Report.
    4. For Report Implementation, select SQL Report.
    5. For Title, enter Results.
    Using Oracle Application Express to Build Oracle Text Web Applications Page 9
    6. Enter the following SQL query:
    select score(1) relevance, doc_title, doc_url
    from htmldb_documentation
    where CONTAINS (doc_url, :P1_SEARCH, 1) > 0
    order by 1 desc
    7. For Display Conditions, for Condition Type, select Value of Item in Expression 1 is NOT NULL.
    8. For Expression 1, enter P1_SEARCH.
    This condition specifies to only display the Results region if a term is entered as a search criterion.
    Run the page and enter a search criterion for Term(s). Your results should look similar to the following figure.
    Figure 2.0
    The only thing I added to the query above is a dbms_doc.getlength statement to be able to open a link to the document.
    The first 2 times I created this on a page it worked just fine. But now no matter what conputer or schema or application I create this button in it won't display the results. I can admit that I have no experience creating a button with a different request than what comes up in the wizard. And the documentation that I found on creating buttons was of no help.
    I have not made any changes to anything in the wizard so can someone guide me as to how to create a button that will allow me to search a document using Oracle Text as described above

  • How do I create a report with a search button

    All,
    This may be a dumb question, but I am trying to create a report in Portal 3.0.9 with
    a search button. I created the report using the 'create report by query' option and
    that was fine. But what I really want to see is the customization page that shows
    a field and 'run report' that a user can insert a record he/she is looking for.
    For example:
    Employee Id: ________
    | Search |
    Results if user enters a valid number
    Employee Id : 1
    Employee Name : John Smith
    Employee Address: 111 Anywhere St. Anyplace USA
    I can alter the customize page to make the search page fit my needs, but how do I create
    a portlet out of the customize page and stick on my main page? When I run my report it
    calls and returns all employees.
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Hi,
    You cannot publish the customization form as a portlet. The only way you can do this is to call the customization form from the dynamic page in the <oracle> tags. You can then publish this dynamic page as a portlet on the page.
    Here is an example which calls the customization form of new_rpt2.
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <TITLE>Example</TITLE>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <H2>Example of A Dynamic Page</H2>
    <ORACLE>
    begin
    <schema_name>.NEW_RPT2.show_parms;
    end;
    </ORACLE>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Sharmila
