Where is "Submit Podcast" In iTunes 7? And more.

I'm trying to add
My podcasts: http://web.mac.com/jupiterspaceport/iWeb/Cyclotron%20Majesty%27s%20site/Podcast/ Podcast.html
But how do I do this when the links have all been changed. I cannot even find where to submit one anymore!
Last time I tried doing it in earlier versions It gave me some ambiguous error message:
"Error parsing feed: Invalid XML: Error on line 1: Content is not allowed in prolog."
How do I fix this? I already ran feedvalidator. I still don't know what to do.

OK I found the Submit Podcast Button... now moved to the middle of the screen
But my other question that I have also asked before still is avail to solutions.

Conversely, an iTunes account is required in order to submit a podcast to the iTunes directory. If you don't have an account or are a non-U.S. user, just post your feed URL here and someone will probably submit on your behalf.
Make sure the author tag in the feed file is a valid and functioning e-mail address, it's your only link to Apple should they find a problem with the file.

  • Trying to submit podcast to iTunes, "difficulty downloading episodes"

Hi there... Getting really frustrated trying to submit my soundcloud podcasts to iTunes.
I'm using feedburner and this is my feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/alvarp
But I keep getting "We had difficulties downloading episodes from your feed."
The most frustrating thing is that I did get to the next step, but noticed a typo in the description, so I went back and started over on feedburner.. but then when I got back I got this!
I've been going through the threads here and I see people with similar problems that have to do with the format of the episodes and secure servers, but I can't see how that applies to my problem.
    Please help!
    Ragnar

The URL of the media file in your top episode is
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/alvarp/http://feeds.soundcloud.com/stream/140877573- alvarpid-a-ttur-nr-4.mp3
This URL is obviously a nonsense as it has http:// in twice, and indeed it produces a '400' error (bad syntax).
If you remove the erronious first section:
    http://feeds.soundcloud.com/stream/140877573-alvarpid-a-ttur-nr-4.mp3
you get a forced download. This will possibly work but it's inadvisable - you should provide a direct link to the mp3 file which when opened in Safari plays within safari, not downloads.

  • I have two questions about my podcast on iTunes - Image and Author

Hello. I have very recently added my podcast to iTunes,  by submitting the RSS-feed that is given by wordpress (that's where I have my podcast homepage) It looks allright, and the feed includes Name of podcast, title of podcast shows, description and in some cases even length of the podcasts. There's two things not showing though, and that's an image for the iTunes page, and the name of the authors.
I'm not sure if you're allowed to link to your feed like this, but here is however the feed that I've sent to iTunes: http://rodrost.wordpress.com/category/podcast/feed/ . I thought that the picture up in the right (of me and a friend) would be the picture showing up on iTunes. And I don't understand where in my feed to put in the authors. If you could answer my questions I would be very grateful, thank you.
    / Joar.
(This is how it looks on iTunes http://itunes.apple.com/se/podcast/rodrost-podcast-podcast/id507886804 )

Posting your feed URL is not only allowed, it's necessary to get answers to most questions, so thank you for posting it.
You are missing some necessary entries in your feed. The second line of your feed should include the 'iTues declaration':
    xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd" version="2.0"
which should be added within the 'rss' tag. Without this iTunes cannot read the 'itunes:...' tags which are in any case missing. The image is carried in the 'itunes:image' tag and your name in the 'itunes:author' tag, and there are other tags which carry information - your podcast is working without them but some information is as you see missing.
This page includes a sample basic feed so that you can see what I'm talking about:
    http://rfwilmut.net/pc
I can't advise on Wordpress: it seems likely that you need the PodPress plugin to get this to work properly, but I'm not sure whether you can do it without.

  • Deleting podcasts from iTunes library AND iPod?!? HELP.

I have 61 podcasts on my iPod and in my iTunes library.
I didn't want them anymore, so I unsubscribed and deleted the podcasts from iTunes.
I synced to my iPod, assuming that the files would be automatically removed.
    But they weren't.
I've tried checking and unchecking "Sync only checked songs and videos" on the iPod device page.
I've tried checking "Sync all episodes of:.." and then not checking any podcasts.
It's not worked so far. My iTunes is up to date and everything..my iPod charged..
Im wondering HOW do you delete podcasts - or any other music, videos...etc - from your iPod and iTunes?
Please help! Reply soon, I'm in desperate need.
    Thanks.

You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
It appears that the mess resulted in the iPod seeing the computer/iTunes library as a new computer/iTunes library. If you sync to a new computer your iPod gets erased and the media in the iTunes library ends up on the iPod.

  • Where are My Podcasts on iTunes?

Wondering why Podcasts I posted do NOT show in iTunes, but DO show in the podcast web-site:
    http://athleticsmedia.quinnipiac.edu/athletics/Podcasts/Podcast.xml
I am aware that sometines it takes 24/48 hours, but I have been waiting 3-5 days.
Any help & advice would be appreciated.

    Hi,
We're having the same problem actually so I'd be interested to see if there's any reply for this. We submitted ours on Friday night and it's now Sunday and still nothing. We did get an email to say that it had been successfully submitted for review, but that was that. Things do seem slow there anyway, I sent a remove podcast request over a week ago and it only just got removed today.

  • Unable to submit podcasts to iTunes, with iWeb links.

Everytime I submit the RSS link to iTunes I get this message.

I'm so confused. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Where do I store my iTunes films and music?

I have an iPad2 with 16GB.   It is set to backup to iCloud.
Now let's say that I buy 100 films from the iTunes store.  Each film is 5GB.  How do I manage this 500GB of media using iCloud and/or iTunes on my computer?

I'm going to answer my own question for the clueless among us.  iCloud is not an option, because it doesn't store films at all http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4859
The only option is to use iTunes on your computer.  Download the 100 films using iTunes on your computer.  Then, you can decide which films to sync to your iPad.  Connect your iPad to the computer with the cable.  Click on the device when it appears in iTunes on your computer in the left hand column.  Click on Movies on the top bar.  Click on Sync movies in the window.  Deselect Automatically include all movies.  Then choose the movies you want to appear on your iPad.
This is how you are supposed to manage your media collection.  It is of supreme importance to make sure that your media (all of it) is always on your PC and that your iPad is backed up to iTunes on your computer.  Unlike most companies that sell content, Apple lets you download content only once from the store.  After that, you are responsible for backing it up.  If you mis-sync your data, it is like losing a physical CD.  It is gone for good.  In some countries (list unavailable), you can re-download music.

  • IPod Touch + iTunes + Outlook and more: how it all ties together

I depend on having Calendar, Contacts, To Do's, and notes functional on both my iPod Touch and my PC which runs Windows XP. It took a bit of effort but I've got it mostly working. I have documented the system at a high level. No doubt experts will find errors plus have invaluable suggestions. I welcome their input. Hopefully this article will evolve into something of use to the community.

A little bump... Someone must know this...? Surely? If not, where can I get hold of an Apple rep, because I can't be doing with hundreds of albums consisting of just one song.
    Thanks again.

  • "Submit podcast..." artwork

I've been unable so far to change the artwork in the "Submit podcast to iTunes" dialog window. Apple's help file says to drag photos to the placeholder (which I see) to change the artwork, but when I do so the program behaves as if there were no placeholder to change and slides the photo back into the media browser. Any ideas?
    iMac G5 2GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

hey.. same problem here. I've been stuck with artwork I don't want. I went to the podcasting discussion boards, the genius bar, and finally apple care. They didn't have an answer at first, but the guy said he'd check it out and call me back. He called me back a couple of hours later and here's his fix.
He said, after talking to someone who helped write the software, that getting the correct artwork happens coming out of garageband and into iWeb and then into iTunes.
I was posting video podcasts from iMovie to iWeb to iTunes. It apears that you set the Chapter to the picture you want for your artwork and that loads to iTunes. He assured me that this wasn't the individual podcast artwork, but the one over the main page you have for all your podcasts.
Then you are supposed to ping iTunes and check back in an hour.
Here's the ping url if you don't have it...
    https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/pingPodcast?id=YOURFEEDHERE
The your feed here is where you put your feed number from iTunes. It's in your acceptance email that iTunes sent you when your podcast was posted.
I'm currently publishing to .mac from iWeb with the corrected file. We'll see if it works. I'll post here when I find out.
    let's keep our fingers crossed.

  • Error when trying to submit podcast RSS feed.

I was just trying to publish my podcast and submit the rss feed to itunes. To do this i simply went to file>submit podcast to itunes. I did this using iWeb, but for some reason every time I do this it gives me an error message. I cant figure out what im doing wrong, I thought iWeb was supposed to make a working RSS feed automatically. Also, after hitting publish to .Mac, I went to .mac and clicked my site, but the site is not at all updated, instead it is the old site. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

If you did a "Publish All to .Mac" and remembered to empty your browser cache, it would seem that you are not connected to .Mac.
This would also explain your failure to upload the RSS feed.
However, I notice that somebody else is having this problem...

  • Where is my sidebar in itunes 12.0.1.26?

So, just updated to the newest version.  Once I got it pointed at the correct location for my files, I noticed that I can no longer see the sidebar.  I looked through all of the preferences and menu options and it's not there.
Is there any way to get this feature back?  I'm not interested in the "new" views and certainly don't find them appealing in any way/shape/form.  I prefer to keep my system "sane" and the same all of the time.
Hope some one can point me to a "hidden" option to get this turned back on again.
    Thanks,
    Pete

    Also having sidebar issues.
I clicked on the update for my HP printer, but then iTunes also updated. Oh Crap.
I'm in the middle of ripping my large collection of CDs to a 1T drive. On previous versions I used to make a playlist, insert a disc, select all (or some), and drag to that playlist. Why? In album view, iTunes lists all "albums" even if I've only downloaded or ripped one song from an album; a playlist per album lets me search for real albums. Also, I might drag a partial group of songs so as not to download a song I didn't like.
Can't do any of this anymore because CDs are not listed in the sidebar. Now I have to import the whole CD, import the entire CD, select it and drag it to the playlist. I tried selecting just the songs I want to import in the new version—nope. Now I have to go back in and delete the ones I don't want. Seriously? Further,  when importing, I need select the import setting each time instead of just setting it to AIFF once as a preference and forgetting about it. Oh goody, one more mouse click; just what I was hoping for.
I didn't ask to update; I only wanted to update printer software. The update adds (several) steps to my process. The sidebar is less useful. The program is less flexible. I even keep looking for a blue icon and now it's red—I'll get over it, but what was the point of that change? What was the point of ANY of these changes? Apple employees may find it fascinating to screw around with their products all day; I just want to get something done. If it ain't broke, don't "fix it".
"This update includes many design and performance improvements that makes iTunes easier and more enjoyable to use." No, not really . . .
