Where is text properties panel?

In Dreamweaver 8, when I highlighted a word or text, there was a properties panel at the bottom. In that panel I could set or change format, font, style, size, color, bold, italic, align left, align right, align center, justify, set a link, and set a target.
In Dreamweaver CS4 I can not find that same panel. Is there a panel with all the items above? If so, how do I open it?

Actually it is in the same panel, just slightly altered.  In that properties window you will see two buttons on the left side, one for HTML and one for CSS.  The CSS is what controls the style of the text you may have highlighted so those features are now there to create a separation between editing HTML and CSS.  This will be true for other elements as well such as table backgrounds.

    In CS5 the Vspace and H space fields where in the Properties panel... I have looked and looked and can't find them in CS6. Did they move them or do I have a jacked up Creative Cloud version of CS6?
    I'm also not using CS6 to upload content because it doesn't do it correctly. I have to use CS5 to upload the content and it works just fine.

  • CC 2014 Flash, Properties panel, SRC property - where is it?

    Can anyone tell me where I can find this property?
    Thanks,
    Jerry

    Ah.  I discovered the reason for my confusion.
    In the Properties panel for a flash file the Edit box is grayed out because I do not have Adobe Flash installed.  I suspect, but do not know for sure, that if I did have Adobe Flash the SRC property would be available either in Flash or added to the Properties panel here in DW (probably the former).  Regardless, I cannot edit the file because I do not have the Flash software so the SRC property is irrelevant.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Where is Properties panel of the Elements Organizer 11 ??

    Adobe help indicates using the Properties panel of Elements organizer to view and change metadata ??
    I can find info using File Info in Elements Editor but it will only update ONE image at a time !!
    Looks like PSE11 is a giant step backwards!!

    Thanks - no help because the template is predefined and only has a limited number of fields.
    Try using File Info in the Elements Editor and you will see an entirely different set of template options including the ability to create and save templates.
    On this page toward the bottom you find info about metadata templates
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/photoshopelements/using/WS287f927bd30d4b1f89cffc612e28adab65-7 ff1.html#WS287f927bd30d4b1f89cffc612e28adab65-7fef
    Save or delete metadata templates
    If you have metadata that you repeatedly enter, you can save the metadata entries in metadata templates. The templates can be used for entering information, and they save you the effort of retyping metadata in the File Info dialog box. In the Photo Browser, you can search for metadata to locate files and photos.
    Thanks

  • CS5 properties panel - poor performance

    Hello,
    I have recently started to experience an issue in Fireworks CS5 where the properties panel is very slow to update.
    Once I have selected an object, I can select other objects of the same time with no delay. For example, from no selection, if I select a peice of text there is a 2-3 second delay while the properties panel updates to show the font type, size, leading, etc. Now if I select other text, the properties update accordingly, with no delay.
    If I change the selection to a bitmap, there is another 1-2 second delay while the properties panel updates again.
    All other panels and functions seem to be working correctly with no delay. Can anyone help with this issue?
    Thanks.

    Thanks folks... I figured it out. The answer was in the OPTIONS side menu of the EXPORT menu.

  • CS4 Crash, Properties panel unresponsive

    Recently I had issue with Flash CS4 crashing repeatedly. Also
    the application would have trouble using the text tool to create
    TextFields it would not update the properties panel (Ctrl+F3) when
    switching between field types (dynamic, static and input). Also the
    properties panel would not update when selecting other items in the
    FLA file and just remain as the TextField details.
    A co-worker found that the issue was with the fonts on our
    systems. It appears some where corrupt and this was wreaking havoc
    with Flash CS4. We tried turning off the preview but that did not
    work. What did work was removing the corrupt fonts on our systems.
    First we had to find out which fonts were corrupt which can
    be done with FontAgentPro from Insider Software
    (www.insidersoftware.com). (Compatible with Mac OSX, XP and Vista)
    We installed the trial and tried to run an import which told
    us which fonts were corrupt. Once we knew which fonts were corrupt
    we just deleted/removed them from our Font folder. Note
    FontAgentPro crashed when we deleted/removed the fonts with it
    open; so we had to make a list of the fonts and close FontAgentPro.
    Once the bad fonts were gone we were able to open and run
    Flash CS4 without it crashing or the properties panel from hanging
    or becoming unresponsive.
    We hope this helps other who are experiencing similar issues.
    Note:
    On fresh Vista install Calibri, Cambria and Constantia fonts
    were all seen as corrupt. Not sure if this happened due to font
    installs we made, vista install bad (which runs very stable) or if
    Vista fonts are a different creature than previous window OT and
    TTF fonts.

    Unfortunately Adobe is notorious for not following Windows
    standard APIs. It
    is unlikely they will fix the issue anytime soon.

  • Fireworks CSS Properties panel shorthand

    Hi is where any way insted of:
    font-family:"Trebuchet MS", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    font-size:16px;
    line-height:140%;
    color:rgb(168,168,169);
    text-align:left;
    to have:
    color: #A8A8A9;
    font: 16px/1.4 "Trebuchet MS", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    and same shorthand for everything else. Is where any way to edit CSS Properties panel?
    P.S. I was trying http://mattstow.com/css-professionalzr.html , but in most cases its not working.

    Without doing a lot research into this, I'm not sure what to suggest. I think you're on the right track by trying a tool like Matt's CSS Professionalzr. Have you tried giving him feedback on what's not working? (I do see that it's version 0.4, so it could still be a work in progress.)
    Within the CSS Properties panel itself, I don't see any shorthand options. I know the panel was introduced as an add-on to CS5, so it's still a relatively new feature.
    I don't know if Dreamweaver might be helpful to you here. It has options for writing CSS shorthand.
    Perhaps there's a way to "wash" the Fireworks code output in Dreamweaver by resaving or editing the CSS file or something. If not, I'd do a Google search for some kind of tool that's oriented towards "CSS shorthand". There might be a converter out there.

  • CP8 Eyedropper in Properties Panel

    This seems odd. Changing a color from the properties panel doesn't use your color swatches. It uses some default. So then using the eyedropper tool to select a color from your swatches panel not only selects the color but then also changes the color of the element selected in the swatches panel.
    Example: Open color picker in shadow and reflection area of properties panel. The color I want is not in the default swatches. So I use the eyedropper to select my color from the swatches panel and both the shadow AND my text (or fill or stroke or highlight) change to that color.
    Yes I'm aware of a few workarounds but is this how the eyedropper is supposed to work when used from the proprieties panel on the swatches panel?

    Can I ask you to log a feature request? I would call the present collaboration between the swatches panel (only place where you can import a custom color palette) and the color dialog boxes everywhere (not only for Fill/Stroke but also for Theme Colors in CP8) at the least 'cumbersome' and 'confusing'. Sorry, Adobe, I logged several requests to improve those work flows. You have to be sure to choose the right option in the Swatches panel, before choosing the color picker which is not intuitive at all, unexpected.

  • Moving images from properties panel.

    hello forumers.
    i was doing a tutorial where the intrsuctor uses css style to move and repostision images around the template doing all the padding etc etc.
    but cos im a bit slacky to css and new to dw,i used  the properties panel to distance my images (v space) vercitly and  (h space)horizontly,i found it much faster to do.
    if that wrong to use?will my code be burden in any way?
    thank you.

    It may be faster, but (1) you need an understanding of both html and css to create good pages with DW and (2) with css you have the control to add padding selectively (on left or right) and not both at the same time. Using the H Space you do get distance between the image and the text but you also get space between the image and the margin. This can look rather sloppy.

  • Character Styles in CSS Properties Panel are not correct

    I am using Adobe Illustator CC.
    I am trying to export all of the charter styles as CSS. However the CSS panel is not generating the correct style.
    Right now, in the Character Styles Panel and CSS Properties Panel I have 3 styles (Default, h1, h2)
    This is how they are defined in the Character Styles Panel:
    1. [Normal Character Style]:Helvectic Neue LT Std, 55 Roman, 16px
    2. h1: Helvectic Neue LT Std, 25 Ultra Light, 35px
    3. h2: Helvectic Neue LT Std, 45 Light, 18px
    HOWEVER
    When I go to the CSS Properties panel the code is not showing the Font Style:
    This is how they are defined in the CSS Properties Panel:
    1. [Normal Character Style]:
    .NormalCharacterStyle
      font-family : Helvetica Neue LT Std;
      font-size : 16px;
      color : #19131F;
      color : rgb(25, 19, 31);
    2. h1:
    .h1
      font-family : Helvetica Neue LT Std;
      font-size : 35px;
      letter-spacing : 0.53px;
      color : #FFFFFF;
      color : rgb(255, 255, 255);
    Missing:  25 Ultra Light
    3. h2:
    .h2
      font-family : Helvetica Neue LT Std;
      font-size : 18px;
      text-transform : uppercase;
      color : #FCFCFC;
      color : rgb(252, 252, 252);
    Missing:  45 Light
    Am I not doing somethign correctly? Is it a problem with my font or with Illustrator?
    Also, in case it makes a difference, I only have the default paragraph style defined. It's style is; Helvectic Neue LT Std, 55 Roman
    Thanks!

    CSS cannot render typographical multiple weight fonts simply because that's just not how it works. All CSS does is reference a physical font file and its properties and while it's possible to use the font-weight and font-style attributes to make standard fonts lighter or bolder it does not compare to anything you would do with the font in a real design environment. That and of course you still need to define fallback/ substitution options - the Helvetica Neue you are referencing is exclusively available on Apple systems only and even if what you are trying worked off the bat, it would be useless on alternate devices that have no access to the font.

  • Where is the stroke panel?

    Using CS4 on a Mac.  Says go to Window--> Stroke Panel. Ain't no such thing. No panel. Nada. Not there. Gone.
    Can anybody tell me where it is?

    Odd that it would have that instruction.
    The stroke properties are set in the Properties panel. In CS3 they're the third set from the left.

  • Default text properties

    Here is a part of your Helpfile:
    Adding text to a slide
    To add new text, do one of the following:
    To use one of the preset text effects, click Text in the Extras panel, and then drag a text sample onto the slide.
    To add plain text, click the Add Text button .
    Double-click the text and type in the Edit Text dialog box (to change the sample text it contains), and then click OK.
    In the Properties panel, set any of the following options:Note: The text properties specified here become the defaults for adding text.
    But the text properties specified here become not the defaults for adding text.
    Why not?

  • Flex properties panel

    Hi,
    I am try to create a test application with the flexbuilder
    plugin. But when I look into the Flex properties panel I see only
    basic properties. I have already re-install the flex builder to
    lookup the details of the properties panel without success.
    I don't see in the properties panel the "Styles", "layout"
    and other advanced options... How can I get those settings back.
    Or where can I put those settings on.
    Regards,
    Guy

    The "Specific component with style name" acts as a hint to
    CSS Design View and serves to document the purpose of the style.
    However, Flex itself ignores the component name portion of the
    name.
    So, if you have Label.myLabel{} in a css file and open that
    file in CSS Design View, you will see a preview of that style with
    a Label as the sample component. If you have just myLabel{}, CSS
    Design View will not know what to use as the sample component, so
    you would need to select the sample component from the combo box at
    the top of CSS Design View.
    In the MXML source code, Flex considers Label.myLabel and
    myLabel to be the same thing. This is a limitation of Flex and the
    MXML compiler. It ignores all characters before the dot in the
    style name.
    So, the Label.myLabel syntax is only useful in Flex Builder
    CSS Design View. It saves you from having to select Label as the
    sample component. We also consider it to be a good practice because
    it makes it clear from the name that the style is intended for use
    with a Label and not some other kinds of components.
