  • Where is the actual iPhoto photos data stored?

I'm trying to find the data files for iPhoto in OS X Lion, data used to be in the user Library, but I can't find that either. Where is the actual iPhoto photos data stored?

    1. Set the preferences to edit in another program, Photoshop. (Advanced Tab)
    2. Drag the image to the email message (the problem you describe should be fixed in 10.8.3)
    3. Select all the images in the event or album and show the Info pane.
    4. You have to export them first in order to compress, so either drag them out of iPhoto into the destination or use the Export command.
    5. Clunky? Works pretty great for me.
    6. I can access all of my photos right there in iPhoto. I can access other people's photos there, too.
If you don't want iPhoto to organize the files, tell it not to. Prefs, Advanced, Copy Items into the iPhoto Library.
If you didn't want someone to comment on this,
Seriously?  It is rediculous that we needed a forum to find our own files.
Then why did you post it?
Are you an Apple OS designer and are offended or something? Why are you even looking at this post if it's not an issue for you?
Look up the thread a ways.

  • Does the number of photos stored on the Ipod touch affect the quality of photos

My IPod touch had started out taking great photos, but over time I ended up storing well over 500 photos on it. Recently I noticed that my new photos are of very poor quality (fuzzy) could this be due to the volume of photos stored. I can easily delete them, but would like advice if my photo qulity is affected by storing too many photos in the device.
Another photo question. ONce a photo is deleted, is it truly gone, r can it be retrieved?
    Thanks!

" Recently I noticed that my new photos are of very poor quality (fuzzy) could this be due to the volume of photos stored."
    No.
"ONce a photo is deleted, is it truly gone, r can it be retrieved?"
it is gone.  Unless you had syncd while the photos was on the ipod.  The you coudl restore form backup.
Why do you keepo so many pics in the camera roll?  You should be importing these pics regulalry to your computer, as you would with any digital camera.

  • I have an iMac, where are the completed print jobs stored on the iMac and what format are they?

I have an iMac,  where are the completed print jobs stored on the iMac and what format are they?
    My OSX is 10.10.1

    Hi
If you are using standard system or HP drivers, than the jobs contents are not saved at all.
You can see the list of completed jobs per printer via this URL: http://127.0.0.1:631/printers/
If you want to save a print job, you can do it in the print dialog, by selecting an action prom "PDF" popup.
It allows to save a job (prior or instead to printing it) as PDF or PostScript.

  • Where is the printer configuration info stored?

I need to configure printing for a whole lab, and while I can configure an individual machine for one user via the Print/Fax option of System prefs, I can't find where all that info gets stored (some of it is in ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.PrintingPrefs.plist, but not all) and I can't figure out how to slide that in as a whole-system configuration. Where is the per-user information stored, and where can I move it so that it applies system-wide?

The printer queues are global so most of the information is not kept under any particular user. The path you mentioned keeps user relevant information, such as Presets.
If the printers are using files that are included with 10.5, then the majority of compressed driver files are kept in ./Libary/Printers/Vendor or ./Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/en.lproj for PostScript PPDs.
When you add a printer queue, some of the information is kept in ./etc/cups. This includes the printers.conf file which has details about the added printer queues and the decompressed PPD that was selected during the queue creation.
So if you are looking at copying the data from one Mac to reduce your setup on all the other Mac's, then you may have to tell us the make and model, as there could also be a number of additional directories/files you need.

  • Where are the admins and Support has been getting weaker

Ok first of aqll. Where are the admins? I have seen none of their posts anywhere. They dont' seem to care or moderate the board.
2nd of all, in some support sections, some people say smart alac things where they don't want to help their users. I got somone from one of my posts saying, "Don't try to attempt to do something when you know nothing about it"

    <img
They may or may not send an email to the offender,</div>
This is an interesting thread and I thank you and the other more experienced folk for your participation. There is a few similar recent explanatory type threads which are also useful.
However, the above partial reply does concern me a bit. And yes, I do realise that you personally are in no way responsible for or accountable for the actions or non-actions of the mods or for Apple policy. And that you are just helpfully recounting what appears to be the Discussions policy and practices.
Several months ago a reply I made to a thread was deleted, presumably by a mod but what instigated that action I do not know or do I know who reported my apparent posting crime.
To quote from : Apple Discussions Use Agreement
    "5. Breach of the Agreement
If you fail to abide by these terms Apple will send an e-mail that informs you that your Submission has been deleted or edited."
I did not receive any email from Apple explaning the reason for my submission deletion.
As shown by this thread a similar experience has occurred to other users
    <http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=792552&tstart=0>
Now, of course I am in no position to require the mods to account for their actions and I accept that these Discussions are wholly owned and operated by Apple, but Apple does [or I hope so] realise the value of the discussions and the goodwill they create and enhance.
But what is the point of having a set of rules, availble for all to see, which are in effect a two-way agreement, if Apple chooses to ignore them while expecting users to abide by them. I would have liked the opportunity to explain the import of my submission. But having it peremptorily deleted without explanation is just not fair.
But then, I expect someone will take offence at this post and it will be deleted.

Now that I've switched to ICloud where are the mailboxes that were stored on my Mac?

On your mac, mailboxes are listed under one of several categories.  Some are "on my mac" and others are in "icloud".  Those emails in mailboxes "on my mac" are strictly local, they do not connect with iCloud.  As Julian points out, all mailboxes on your mac are still there.  They will not be on your other devices.

  • Newbie cluster question: where does the admin server live?

Hello, I'm looking at clustering for our application where I work, and so I'm reading through the cluster-related documentation for 11g. I have a sort of an architecture question: where should the admin server be started? Hypothetically speaking, if you have two nodes for your cluster, would the AdminServer run on a 3rd box which sort of stood in front of the two nodes?
    Thanks much -

The ideal situation would be for your admin server to be separate from the machines hosting your managed server. This allows you to control access to the admin server, eliminate the performance impact if you have the admin + managed on the same host, and limits impact if youir #1 host fails, etc.
But companies may be unwilling to invest in a distinct (3rd) host just for the admin server, especially if you have multiple environments ( prod, testing, dev, etc. ).
So usually the admin winds up sharing the host with a managed server.

  • Where is a Cleaned up Photo Stored

After you remove redeye and enhance a photo from a linked folder in iPhoto, where is the cleanup photo stored??  I want to put them on a jump drive.

The following is from one of Terence Devlin’s posts on file access for use outside of iPhoto.  It’s the definitive treatise on the subject.
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:   You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps.  If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
For users of 10.6 and later:  You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation  which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and 10.5 Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
Show File:  a. On iPhoto 09 and earlier:  Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.    3.b.
b: On iPhoto 11 and later: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

  • When I import files (copy from jpeg or copy as DNG from raw, where is the full size original stored?

I have the photos go here file, does LR5 put the untouched original there? Do I need my own file for originals and if so, how does LR5 know where to find the full size original? I have everything working but don't understand where my untouched originals go after import. Say I import off my card to My Pictures/Lightroom Catalog/ Photos go here ..... are my originals there? What if I erase my card now, do I only have partial size negatives basically? I don't understand why LR5 didnt put in an originals do here file that imports the full photo to a stock folder. I am so confused I am about ready to throw out LR5. I even bought your instructional DVD and it doesnt make where the original files location clear, it just repeats that LT5 does NOT import the original, just thumbnail and instructions, where is the program getting the photo when I double click to open it , or am I only seeing a lower resolution version of the photo and the full res is now gone because I formatted the card?

When you import photos, you can choose "Copy" or "Move" or "Copy as DNG", and then select a destination folder on your hard disk. This happens on the right hand side of the Import dialog box. So your original files go to this destination folder.
Alternatively, if your photos are already on your hard disk, you can import by choosing "Add" and the original photos remain in the existing location.
If you're not sure where the photos are, open Lightroom, go to the Library Module, and on the right hand side is the Metadata Panel. Set the dropdown to "Default", and it will show you where your photos are stored. Alternatively, you can right-click on any photo and select "Show In Finder"/"Show in Explorer" and Lightroom will take you to the exact folder where the photo is located.
So, bottom line, you are in total control of where the originals go, and if your forgot where you put them, or made a mistake, you can always find out where they are.
What if I erase my card now, do I only have partial size negatives basically?
If your import was successful, then the photos are now stored on your hard disk. So you have the full size original for Lightroom to work with.
it just repeats that LT5 does NOT import the original, just thumbnail and instructions
Lightroom does import the original, which means, in Lightroom jargon, that it records the location and metadata about the photo; in other words, Lightroom knows where the photo is, but Lightroom NEVER contains your photo, your photo is ALWAYS stored on the hard disk.
Because Lightroom now knows where your photo is located, it is important that you not manage your photos (move, edit, rename, delete) outside of Lightroom. Photo managements tasks now must be done in Lightroom. (There are advanced methods that let you manage your photos outside of Lightroom, but these would be NOT RECOMMENDED for beginners)

  • Where is the orignal account picture stored?

I want to keep the one I took while setting up my machine, but can't find it in the pictures/photobooth (or iphoto), or in library/cache.  I took a new account picture but want to change back.  When I run a spotlight search for "photo on" (the beginning of the name for pictures taken with photo booth), my old picture doesn't come up.  I have no 'recent ichat images' folder, and all the account picture editors only show my new picture in the 'recent pictures' option.

Thanks.  I was looking for one I took with the webcam (not any of the default pics), but after some research, I've determined I unknowingly erased it by choosing a new account picture.
Lesson learned: save the picture you take while setting up the admin account before changing the picture.  If you don't, it's gone.

  • Where does the buffer data gets stored in bw 3.5 bps?

    Hi all,
Is there any standard tables, where in i can look for the buffer data. And how to delete nor refresh the buffer data in bw 3.5 bps?
Can anyone let me know the significance of buffer in bps 3.5?
    Thanks
    Pooja

    Hi,
I think Data in the buffer is not stored temporarily in any specific table, once it is saved it will be as transaction data of the cube or the master data.
The place where data is stored in buffer is called planning buffer and All  changes to the data are written to planning buffer. So you don't have to save continuously. If the data is not already in the buffer, the system reads it either from:
The database table (Customizing objects), or Info cube (Plan Data)
and writes it to the planning buffer.
You can use the given function module to delete the buffer data:'UPF_METHOD_DESTROY'
