It is not actually in the iTunes Store, it is in the Store menu of iTunes.
To authorize, go to the Store menu item on the iTunes menu bar, and choose "Authorize This Computer..." as shown below.
If by any chance you don't see the menu bar ("File, Edit, View, Controls, Store, Help"), first enable it by using CTRL+B.

  • TS1277 where is the "authorize computer" selection located?

how do i authorize my new computer to play past itunes purchases? cant find the "authorize computer" selection

If the computer's running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.
If the computer's running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

  • HT1848 where is the 'authorise computer' in itunes?

    Hi folks
When I charge my iphone through my imac, I get the message that there is an upgraded OS which I should download.
But when I say yes to that, the message is that I should transfer purchases from my phone to itunes.
The process for this is supposed to be:
    Open iTunes.
From the Store menu, choose Authorize Computer.
In the dialog that appears, the Apple ID button is selected by default.
Enter your Apple ID and password, then click the Authorize button.
But I can't find the 'authorise computer' command in itunes.
    Can anybody help?
    Thanks
    Pete

  • Where is the "authorize computer" found

I know I must sound like the biggest idiot but I just downloaded the newest itunes for my iMac and I'm syncing my songs up to it when I get the message that I need to authorize my computer and do that by going to store>authorize computer.
I'm assuming store means iTunes store but I can't find the link for the authorization. It's not under the quick links so...
I appreciate any help that is given!

I'm assuming store means iTunes store
It means the Store menu at the top of the screen, not anything in the iTunes window.

  • Where is the authorise computer in Itunes Store menu?

Hi ... can anyone advise where on Itunes Store is the menu showing authorise computer.  Am currently trying to sync my iphone 3GS to a new PC.........

I tried all of these without success then had a stroke of luck. I only downloaded itunes today and could not find the "store" menu item. I finally found a tiny icon in the very top left of the itunes screen (looks like a page of paper with the left half black and right half white) and a tiny triangle beside it. When I clicked on it, it gave a drop down menu. One item was "show menu bar". When I clicked this it opened a menu bar that had the "store" as an option and voila!!! there was "authorise this computer" as an option. Easy once you know how!!!!

If you have iTunes 11, the menu bar is hidden. To show it, hold the Alt key, and then, choose the Store menu (on the menu bar) > Authorize this Computer.
You can also find the iTunes Store menu by pressing the button at the top left corner of the iTunes window

  • HT1420 Where is the store menu in iTunes.  I just got a new computer.  I disconnected the old computer and want to authorize the new one.  There is no file menu or store menu anywhere I can see.

Where is the store menu in iTunes?  I updated my computer and want to authorize it.  I deauthorized the old computer (and probably my desktop at a different location, and want to authorize the new one.  The help says that I need to clickon the store menu in iTunes.  I do not see any store menu.  I can access songs that I purchased a while back, but cannot download any new purchases.  If I cannot get this worked out, how do I recoup my money for the new songs?  Also, can I transfer the songs I purchased to another service?  Brad

It's in the same spot on a Windows machine as well
