Where is the backlit Keyboard?

I got the Lenovo Flex 2 14'' 2 in 1 laptop today. It says on the computer screen on the sticker that it has a Backlit Keyboard (optional). I cant find anything on the compter to turn it on or cant find any help online. Please help !

Good day and welcome to the community.
I believe that 'optional' means that some models have the feature, while others do not.
Can you confirm that your machine is supposed to have the feature?
Regards.

  • How do I enable the backlit keyboard on my mid 2010 13" MBP?

How do I enable the backlit keyboard on my mid 2010 13" MBP? running Windows 8.1? I DO have the latest Apple Support Files downloaded and installed. Everything works except for the illumination of the keyboard and the brightness controls. OS X version is Mavericks.

windows8.1 dont have official support so if it works with win8 then likely it will again when official support for win8.1 comes

  • The Backlit Keyboard on MacBook Air its working upside down

Why does my MacBook Air backlit keyboard turns on in a well litted room and turns off in the dark? What can i do to solve it?

try playing around with the F5 and F6 buttons. They are supposed to control the keyboard lighting.
also go to Keyboard & Mouses in the system preference. There is an option there that says "illuminate keyboard in low light conditions". Make sure that box is ticked.
Drag the bar on the "turn off when computer is not in use for" to Never.
    Hope this helps.

  • Where is the nice  Keyboard !!!!

What happened to the nice keyboard - replaced with the kiddies toy style one from the MacBook? I have one and I hate it compared to the PowerBook and old Pro ones....Apple - this redesign is your Vista moment! GONG !

Since the instant the very first 17" PowerBook came out my biggest disappointment was with the keyboard! All that wide open space and such a squished up keyboard - just to save costs by being able to share this item all the way down to the 13" version...
After all these years the situation is still basically the same even to this day. On the big 17" version I was hoping to have full CTRL/OPTION/CMD keys on both sides of the spacebar. Bigger function keys and arrow keys would have been nice (some key relocations obviously required). I would have preferred that they made a separate keyboard layout that went end to end on the 15" laptop and shared that one with the 17" version. Anyway, that's just my personal opinion.

  • For a new contact in ios 7.1 where is the text keyboard to enter the name

I just downloaded iOS 7.1 on my iPhone 4s. When I try to enter a new contact in iOS 7.1 I tap on + then on name but no text keyboard springs up to write the name. Where do I find the keyboard ????? Thanks in advance fro some help. I'm new at this.

A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.

How do I enable the keyboard to light up?

Hi That indicates that the LCD screen uses LEDs to provide backlighting as opposed to the older technology Fluorescent tubes.

  • The backlit keyboard on year old macbook pro is not lighting up.

I recently took it from Lion to Mountain Lion...but honestly don't know for sure if the problem began prior to the update. I have tried different settings but no luck. Ideas before I bring it in to Apple?
    Thanks in advance!

Though this is a symptom of a problem that would benefit from an SMC reset, it might help to start with checking that you haven't accidentally adjusted the keyboard backlight brightness. Look at the image of the keyboard here:
    http://www.patentlyapple.com/patently-apple/2010/03/apple-industrial-design-wins -macbook-proair-keyboard-layouts.html
The fifth and sixth buttons from the left in the top row adjust the keyboard brightness. If that doesn;t work, then you should try the SMC reset.

  • Can the backlit keyboard be turned on/off?

Thinking about selling the Black Book for a new 2.4 Al Macbook. That is the only question I would like to know the answer to, can the keyboard be turned on/off?
    Thanks
    Steve

It can also be disabled in the Keyboard & Mouse System Preference.

  • Where's the search keyboard?

When I tap the icon, there is no search keyboard. Just top sites, history, etc.

    Hi Felimidmacfal,
I am not sure I understand your question, but I am assuming you are talking about the address bar - on top of the Firefox browser, in your Firefox OS mobile device, is that correct?
If so, you are able to search by just tapping on the address bar, and then typing your search term. As you type, a list of previously visited sites with that search term, as well as a "Google Search link" are displayed. Simply tap on the Google button to perform a search with the words you just typed.
If this is not what you are looking to do, please let us know the exact steps of what you are doing, and what you are hoping to do.
    Thanks!!

  • How do I completely turn off the backlit keyboard without using F5 and F6?

I believe my keyboard short circuited after a spill this weekend. I'm currently using a usb keyboard from Apple. I have disabled the keyboard, on my laptop, now I want to completely turn off the backlight. I've looked in the settings and can't seem to find anything. Thanks.

    hi mtbomb,
hi Can you while the Power LED is blinking hold the power down don't let it go until the light disappeared.
Technically the Yoga13 should turn off while holding down the power. at least 10 to 15 sec.
I would suggest calling Technical Support if the above steps did not resolve the issue.
It's possible that when you turn on the system, it is not going to sleep but the blinking indicates failure.
    Best regards
    Solid Cruver

  • How to turn on backlit keyboard only when plugged in to the power

    Hi there,
is there any way I can have the backlit keyboard turn on only when the laptop is plugged into the wall outlet and not when it is running on battery?
    thanks!

Not that I know of. Your only option is to use the F5/F6 keys to turn on/off when needed/not needed.

  • Backlit Keyboard malfunction ?  Keyboard is changed, then the logicboard ?

    Hi,
The backlit of my MacBook Pro is broken, so I went to a technical center in order to change it, nevertheless it does not work... Could the logic board be the part which causes this trouble ?
    What can I do ?

I met a lot of troubles with this MBP:
    - The superdrive had been changed
    - the LCD had been changed 2 times
    - the Logic Board has already been changed
    - The Backlit Keyboard has been changed ...
Nowadays the backlit does not work...
All the technical centers are not very professional (the last time they didn't rebuild correctly the MBP, there was a little space at the front...), but they said that they changed the keyboard, so it was simply my question... do the logic board could be responsible ...
I have to said also, that in this case they told me that my MBP would be change for a new one .... but I don't want that, because I love my non glossy LCD, the confort of my keyboard and I need the FW 400 and my FW 800 in the same time for video acquisition....
In this case i would have to take the new one, to sold it and to find another one on 2nd hand market

  • Does the MacBook air now has backlit keyboard?

As I've seen discussions on the web which saying the backlit keyboard of the MacBook air has removed. Is that true?

Most, if not all Apple notebook computers, have had this backlit keyboard option. Or so I've read at least. I've never owned an Apple notebook computer before buying my MBA 13 (late 2010) and it doesn't have a backlit keyboard. I don't miss it because I've never had it on a keyboard and know how to type well. Before the blasting about "That's not the only reason to have a backlit keyboard" rants start, I know there are many reasons to have a backlit keyboard, and thankfully I don't require it. I think I'll appreciate it as an option on my next Apple notebook.

  • MBA 11" backlit keyboard no longer lighting automatically

The backlit keyboard on my MBA 11" is no longer responding to the "automatically illuminate keyboard in low light" option in System Preferences. I can control the backlights manually with F5 and F6, but they don't come on automatically in the dark (easily testing by covering the camera).
Originally, the F keys would even be completely inactive, with a line appearing across the on-screen brightness display to say the control was on automatic, but that doesn't happen any more.
I have reset the SMC, but that has changed nothing. The automatic brightness control on the display works fine.

I am replying to my own post, as I don't see a way to edit it.
While researching this issue further, I found a "work-around" from a user called Golden Shoes - where the creation of a .css file is decribed in expert, easy to follow detail.  This worked perfectly, and I have since infected my other toys with this fix for Safari zoom levels...

  • Backlit keyboard (french)

    Hi,
I know this question is redundant but all answers are starting to be old to keep relying on them.
I wanted to know what I will really get when I buy on the US applestore a macbook air with the "Backlit keyboard (French) ..." option?
Will it be a full azerty keyboard?
Will it be a so-called French Canadian keyboard (QWERTY)?
Will it be a classic QWERTY but language and keyboard in the computer configured in french?
    Many thanks for your help.
    Benjamin
