i have the free trial photshop cc. where is the oil painting filter at? i cant find it

As of CC 2014 the filter no longer exists. Several features were removed, some had to with flash as Adobe is supporting html5 over flash. It can still be used in CS6 and CC

  • Where is the OIL Paint Filter in CC 2014?  why the heck would they remove it?

Where is the OIL Paint Filter in CC 2014?  why the heck would they remove it?

You will find the Oil Painting Filter in Photoshop CC.  It has been taken out of Photoshop CC 2014.
So if you have Lightroom Creative Cloud, you should have both Photoshop CC and Photoshop CC 2014.
I have been looking for it for 4 days now, and I just found it.  I am so happy.

  • Where is the Pan Image filter

I need to use the Pan Image Effect on a great set of still images and can't find the Pan Image filter. I should have been able to find it under video transforms folder on the Effects Palette.

I was able to make the pan effect work. It is really poor when compared to stage tools.
    1) the image pixelation is rediculous
    2) the finished result is worse than  rediculous
    3) I took the stage tools and did a horizontal pan at the bottom of the image that would be equalent to about isa small strip along the botton 8000x6200 image at about a scale of600 during the entire process the entire full resolution image was on screen and the little frame moved across the image and the pop up monitor that was provided by stage tools showed the actual path of the frame across that full size image (30" monitor) so you not only saw it in high resolution but it was extremely easy to track especially when following a non irregular line down a winding canyon or river.
the reason that the stage tools client list reads like the who's who's of motion picture industry is because it's about 100 times better than using the motion effect built into Adobe.

did you really think that Lucas Films would have been one of the largest users of this plugin if Adobe had the panning capability this does.
You guys are like trying to think that anything you can't do Adobe directly is silly. Give it a break. I love Adobe I own I think the fact that they encourage outside vendors to create great plugins for Adobe users is brilliant. some how I think you guys have missed the point. Adobe can't even compare with stage tools for panning and zooming. like a difference between a VW bug and a F1 Ferrari it's just rediculous. But don't take my word for it download the stage tools for free like I did and try it. You just won't believe the difference. You need to start with a super quality image though from the Hasselblad website downloads area you should be able to download some 50 or 60 MB files that are like the dimensions shown below:
    http://www.hasselbladusa.com/products/h-system/h4d-60.aspx
    Sensor size: Dalsa 60.1 Mpixels (8956 x 6708 pixels)
    Sensor dimensions: 40.2 mm x 53.7 mm
Image size: RAW 3FR capture 80 MB on average. TIFF 8 bit: 180 MB
Where talking Lucas film quality now not 35mm Rebel or D30's

  • Where is the basic driver for C4580 under Windows 7 64-bit?

I've upgraded my PC and I'm installing a fresh copy of Windows 7 64-bit. My printer is the HP Photosmart C4580. In the support section of the HP support site, only the full software is available for download -  PS_AIO_04_C4500_USW_Full_Win_WW_130_140.exe. There is a tempting message saying the basic driver is "available as a separate download named HP Photosmart Basic Driver", but I can't find it. I've even had a trawl through the HP FTP site! I really only want the basic driver. I certainly don't want all the other stuff that the full version brings - particularly the Yahoo toolbar for IE! Does anyone know where the basic driver can be found?? Thanks in advance.

That is not true at all. When you try to use that install package there is no option to just install the drivers without the other garbage. I just want the driver for the Photosmart d7260 but NO, that's too hard for HP to understand that people exist that don't need to be babied through installing drivers. I don't need you to hold my hand just give me the file I need to try and make my printer work again.

  • Where is the "sort and filter" in numbers?

I am trying to sort rows using Numbers for iPad. I can sort an entire table by using the Sort function when you highlight a column. However, I am now trying to sort only certain rows, i.e. a sort within a sort, and this is proving ridiculously difficult. I've read this can be done by highlighting and choosing "sort and filter" from the toolbar. However, I don't see this toolbar nor the "sort and filter". Where is it? I see 4 icons in the upper left: info, picture, wrench, and arrows. I'm very frustrated as it seems this should be so easy to do in a spreadsheet application. I appreciate any help!

The text pop-up menu you read about may have been the Add Filter pop-up menu in the Query HUD (Cmd-F). You can use it to add additional text search boxes to the HUD. You already have one by default in the upper right corner of the HUD.
    That's for searching.
Again, if what you're trying to do is overlay text on an image, you can't really do that except as I described the previous reply.
If what you're trying to do is enter text to an image's metadata, you do that in the Metadata Inspector (I).

  • In photoshop CC 2014 where did the oil paint filter go? it is the filter i need for almost every photo

I cannot find the oil paint filter anymore in the recent version, it is not hidden in the paint galleries. I hope that Adobe did include it otherwise i cant use the updates anymore....

You ARE going to put it back aren't you?
    Won't happen.
You'll have to use the just-released 3rd party filter.
Photoshop: Spring Cleaning | PHOTOSHOP.COM BLOG
"Oil Paint is a very cool filter, but relied on a very large and complex code library used for an outdated technology (Pixel Bender) that is no longer supported.
Update/note: It looks like a 3rd party has released a full PixelBender-esque plug-in that will work in CC. Haven’t tried it myself, but may interest those who liked Oil Paint and PixelBender: http://aescripts.com/pixel-bender-accelerator-for-photoshop/"

  • Where are the basic settings in develop module?

Since updating to lighroom 3 using a MacPro running Snow Leopard I seem to be missing all the 'basic' settings on my develop module namely exposure, white balance etc.  All the other adjustment settings are there.  Any idea how to fix this?

When you are in the develop module, right-click in the right-hand panel and make sure there is a checkmark next to the basic settings.  If there isn't just click on basic settings.  Then it will show in the panel.  The different areas are designed so that you can hide any that you don't use.

  • Where's the Basic Photos App?

So, I deleted the basic "Photos" app from my iPhone and iPad, and now I want it back. Unfortunately, it's not in the App Store. You know the one: It's got the yellow sunflower icon, and it now includes Photo Stream. Any thoughts on how I can get the app back? It no longer exists in my device libraries, nor can I find it, well, anywhere. Thanks!

Built-in apps cannot be deleted, and thus, are not available in the App Store. Try going to Settings, then General, then Reset, then proceed to 'Reset Home Screen Layout.'

  • Where is the Camera shake filter?

I have recently downloaded Photoshop CC, which I think is very good, but I can't find the much vaunted ' Camera shake filter', has it been released yet or do I need to reinstall Photoshop?
    Many thanks for any help

It's a case of "when", not "where". June 17th is the expected date of the CC update.

  • Where is the SURFACE BLUR filter?

In Photoshop CS2, there is a surface blur filter. I need to use it now, but I can't find its plugin although I have Photoshop CS2 SDK now.
Where can I call the "surface blur" function?
    Thank you!

Thank you very much for your information.
But I want to call this function in my VC++ codes. Could you tell me how to do?
    Best regards.

  • Where is the location for filter plugin dialog in AI CS4?

    Hello All,
Im using CS4. In CS4 SDK sample projects, "Tutorial" is a filter type plugin and I want to test this plugin.
Project is compiled fine and plugin created. Placed this plugin in plugins folder of AI.
and then started AI. The Tutorial plugin is showing under Object -> Filter -> SDK -> Tutorial
I have clicked on "Tutorial" plugin in filters menu. A dialog is opened. set the some parameters in the UI and then clicked on OK.
The dialog is disappeared after OK button clicked.
now, how can I get the same ("Tutorial") dialog again? Where can I see the "Tutorial" dialog in AI?
Just like if we apply a 3d Rotate effect, then the 3D Rotate effect dialog is visible under Appearance Panel. If we want to change the settings, we can click on "3D Rotate" in Appearance panel, then 3D Rotate dialog will be opned.
    Please tell me.
    - mind

Depending on what your filter does (namely, if it leaves an effect or if it just modifies the art) it may leave an entry in the Appearance panel. This is usually for 'Effects' not filters though the distinction is a little blurry. One of the reasons they took out the Filters menu in CS4 is because most 'filters' were in fact just art operations and better suited to be placed as menuitems in more appropriate places. Effects are really bits of code that get fired when necessary on art to modify their representation on the page based on parameters.
If you're just doing something to art once (like simplifying the art, or reflecting the art) then you're not an effect. If that's the case, you can just create a menuitem anywhere you feel is right if you don't want to be locked into Object > Filter. Being a filter doesn't actually give you much advantage anymore. You might just want to create a menuitem, respond to it and do your work. Filters come with baggage like filter parameters and 'fire last filter' and whatnot, and frankly, that's being phased out. Its more a Photoshop concept shoehorned into Illustrator.

  • Where is the Tilt-Shift Filter in Photoshop CC?

I can't find it in the Filters menu.
    Has it been removed?

Still there... Go to Edit>Preferences>Plug ins>Show all Filter Gallery groups and names. Now got to Filter>Blur Gallery>Tilt-Shift

  • What and Where is the basic photo format and size info????

I am new at this but an experienced graphic designer.
I work in print often so I take high resolution images. Using still photos I want to make movies with titles and effects, music that are emailable and facebook friendly. Do I need to down size photos before importing them to IPhoto. My project will have around 30 photos.
Is there a place I can go to get this basic info, it was not covered on Apple tutorial.
Do you think any of the manuals that we have to purchase will discuss this issue? Gripe, why does mac give you a program without a manual!!!
So the question is, what is the recommended resolution and format for photos to import to Iphoto or Imovie and be able to have a good quality movie.

the Apple intended workflow is, that stills are managed in iPhoto, and iMovie 'picks up' from there.
this workflows guarantees to some extend a compatibility to iMovie.
iM will not accept 'raws' or CMYK.psd - jpeg, pic, tiff preferred.
there's a flaw, how iM handles portrait-sized pic.. if you want to show them full-sized (=black bars l/r), you have to add those in any pic-processor to make the pic landscape BEFORE import to iM09..
the maximum res of a video is 1920x1080 .. adding any higher res has no effect. only needed, as Kirk allready told you, if you like to use the Ken Burns effect.
for uploading to YT choose HD/1280x720 as size.. adds some extra grain of quality.. made a demo of some random pics as a test, what's possible with iM/YT.
mailing video...? I prefer to upload to YT, make it private, send invitation to mail adress.. for mailing, you would have to compress sooooo much.. nothing left.
