Where is the cgi-bin "backwards" referred to in the tutorial gone?

Hello.
I am doing the tutorial for networks, and I am supposed to create a connection to http://java.sun.com/cgi-bin/backwards to test communication. However, it does not exist. Does anyone know what the correct address is, or know of some equvalent site?
Also, is it not possible to save login information on this site. It is cumbersom to manually log in every time I visit these fora.
Regards
JT

Whats that supposed to mean? Please enlighten silly little me with your endless wisdom. I assume that since on other forums I visit I can save and use cookies with login information so I am automatically logged on, that this is possible here to. Pretty silly.
And for the record. If all you have to share is aimed at putting down people, you have a sad life indeed.

  • Where have the charts gone in iTunes 11?

In genereal I like iTunes 11 but I can't find any top 10 charts for music, movies, TV shows apps or books! Where have the charts gone?

Thanks Poikkeus but I still can't find it! I assume you're referring to the music pulldown menu? There's no Charts selection in there. Maybe it's different for iTunes Australia?

i dont want to use any credit card. where is the NONE gone?

If it's a new account then unless you follow the instructions on this page when creating an account (the instructions won't work on existing accounts) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534 , then you will need to enter credit card details on it before you will be able to use the account in the stores.

  • Where are the tutorial exercise files?

Where are the exercise files referred to in the photoshop tutorials?

Most of the video tutorials on AdobeTV won't have excercise files to go along with the video. If they do, they'll be listed under "Show More Details" in the About This Episode section.
There are a few resources you can use if you'd like to follow tutorials with exercise files to go along with the steps.
Lynda.com is a great resource for learning Photoshop. To have full access to the learning tools you have to buy a subscription, but many of their lessons have accompanying exercise files.
    http://blog.fitnyc.edu/technology/2010/11/11/exercise-files-for-lyndacom/
You might also look into Level Up for Photoshop. It's a plugin that you download and open in Photoshop that guides you through step-by-step tutorials within the actual program. All of the exercise files for Level Up are included when you download the plugin.
    Hope this helps! Good luck

  • Where is the workspace gone in Version 2.1 (OracleXE)?

I see only one difference between version 2.0 and 2.1 (or are there more?)
Where are the workspaces in 2.1 ?
    Kind regards
    Marco

    Marco,
in XE each Oracle user is directly mapped to a workspace.
When you create an oracle database account, a workspace is created implicitly. As far as I understand it you can only use one database account per workspace. This is different from HTML DB 2.0, you cannot assign more.
The menus have been moved around a bit. The administration of workspace users is here now (Home>Application Builder>Application Administration>Manage HTML DB Users), available through the drop down menu of the Application Builder.

  • Where's the tutorial for Adobe Muse

First time using Adobe Muse, I found this tutorial:
    HTML Embedding: Maps
    James Fritz
Learn how to embed a map into a webpage and customize the map view with Muse.
Once I clicked on the link to see the tutorial I get an error 404, I guess someone removed the content. Nice job. Where can I find it? thanks

    Hi lbecerril and grayrockgraphics,
Apologies for whatever inconvenience was caused by the lack of availability of the Muse movies you were looking for. They should all be up and running now. Please follow either of these paths to watch some great Muse video content.

  • Where have the widgets gone??

OK, I know this is probably not the correct forum for this but I couldn't actually find one so here it is. I used to be able to browse straight to the downloads section of the Apple website to where all the demos, freeware, and widgets live, but lately I just cannot for the life of me find any of that section of the website. I can find support downloads, updates and the like, but not freeware and widgets etc.
Could someone please point me in the right direction? From http://www.apple.com/uk/ where do I go?
    Thanks muchly!

    HI,
At your Apple home page look on the right side of the window for this:
    Type in: Widgets

  • Where is the tutorial and not online

I just bought Dreamweaver and want to go through a tutorial
within the program. I am on dialup and want to learn the program
without having to be online to go through the tutorial, is this
    even possible any longer?
    Please help.

    Hi,
If you installed everything, go to Help at the top of the
bar and you will find tutorials. "Getting started with
Dreamweaver", and "Using Dreamweaver" has tutorials right on DW and
you don't have to be online to use them.

  • Where's The Tutorial DVD?

The "Installing Your Software" pamplet mentions a DVD called "Logic Studio Demo Songs and Tutorials" DVD.
My package didn't have this DVD. Instead it has a DVD called "Demo Content" which has demo songs, but no tutorial content.
Did anybody get the tutorial DVD or did Apple ship only the "Demo Content" DVD?
I was looking forward to this DVD as it is supposed to play in a normal DVD player.
    What's your take?

FROM THE "LATE BREAKING NEWS" PDF
"Corrections to the Logic Pro 8 Documentation
The following section contains information on errata in the Logic Pro 8 documentation,
resulting from changes made to Logic Pro 8 after the documentation was completed.
Tutorial and Content DVD Is Data Disk Only
The Logic Studio Demo Songs and Tutorials DVD described in the Installing Your
Software manual has been renamed to Logic Studio Demo Content. It is a data disc
only, and cannot be played on a DVD player or in a DVD player application. "

  • Where's the sound gone?

I uploaded a video and it played fine. I uploaded two more and there is no sound for these two vidoes. Where's my sound go?
Yes, I converted them in itunes for ipod before uploading and playing.

Quicktime, Quicktime Pro and iTunes don't convert "muxed" ( muxed means multiplexed where the audio and video are stored on the same track) video files properly. It only plays the video and not the audio.
See:iPod plays video but not audio.
You need a 3rd party converter to convert the file with both audio and video.
See this for help: Guide to converting video for iPod (Mac/Windows).

  • Toothless Lion - cannot read mail-header, iTunes do not start automatically, DigitalColor Meter is useless, where has the speed gone

I guess that new versions of a software should improve things - Apple seems to have a different oppinion. There comes the top four of my Lion-Problems (three among a lot of others):
    MAIL
In that new interessting summary view (where a bunch of emails with same subject is shown) in many cases the sender address "breaks into the next line" and overlapps the subject. So I cannot read neither the complete subject, nor the senders email address. Has anyone the same problem, or better, a solution for this?
    iTunes
I checked the "open iTunes if this iPhone is connected" (free translation from german version), but this does not impresses iTunes any longer. I always have to start iTunes manually to get my phone synced. Any solution here?
    DigitalColor Meter
OK, I found something in the community about that issue - so no question here, but a comment: Apple, do you really thing that it is good practise to sell the old version of a software for money in AppStore, while upgrading this software to a useless bunch of bytes for free? Please inform me about that completely new strategy in public relations.
    Speed
New OS versions are slower than older ones, because of improved functionality. That is ok. Is there a way to get rid of those new functions (whatever they are, but I did not miss a thing in Leopard, s whatever is new, I guess I do not need it) to get back speed? Loading web pages, starting applications, ... everything is much slower now ... much! Can I stop any services/daemons to get back a bit of speed? And if so, which ones?
Maybe someone could help - maybe Apple with the next upgrade...
    Regards,
    Thomas

Thank you for the sympathy and the information about the Adobe.com forum Michael.
I posted here because, to be honest, for a company that's acknowledged their installers and updaters and support needs some work, they seem very determined to obfuscate the means by which users can provide direct feedback to the company. Much like you, I've also noticed a trend in CS5 installations that mirrors the issues that were present in CS4. it's a sad state of affairs.
As for my installation, you are also quite right to say that a clean install would have been a lot faster than what I went through with TS and it was actually my first idea. Before calling TS I'd actually read through the forums and noticed that a large number of users who were faced with my situation had no other choice but to reformat. I was just giving Adobe the benefit of the doubt and wasted 2 and a half weeks through that course of action...
What makes this situation even more frustrating is that the installer failed on a fresh system. It was a custom-built design machine, assembled and configured by myself. The only software that had been installed on it prior to Design Premium was Firefox, an FTP client and the start of my problems, trial versions of various CS4 programs. I used trials just long enough to retire the previous design computer so that I wouldn't contravene the EULA's stipulation of not running more than one instance of software at the same time on different machines.  Turns out being honest once again penalised a legal customer.
If there is just thing users should learn from my far from unique tale of failed tech support it's that if you ever run into a problem with the installation, don't bother calling TS, just reformat and start from scratch.  It might seem like it'll take longer to get going again, but in actuality, it's the opposite. Reformatting means you'll be up and running in about 1 or 2 days rather than 2 weeks.
