Where is the cheapest MacBook4,1 LCD screen repair?

I pulled my laptop out of my bookbag, opened it up and looked at the screen. The right side of the LCD screen was cracked. A big crack that goes into the middle of the screen. Any image below it does not show up including my curser. I need to find the cheapest place to get it repaired. Thank you!

Yes, if it is made by Crucial and confirmed as suitable for your model of mac you will be fine. You can also buy direct from Crucial:

  • Broke the glass covering my LCD screen.. help

So two days ago I stupidly put my incredibly heavy schoolbag on top of my macbook, and when I went to open it a few minutes later i noticed the entire glass screen covering my LCD screen is shattered (the glass is still there but there is a SIGNIFICANT number of cracks), and my trackpad is also shattered. Everything is still usable (I'm on the computer right now), but I know that sometime soon I'm going to need to get this fixed.
My first priority is the screen. I don't know how much it'll cost, but reading up on it apparently things like this aren't covered by applecare. I was wondering if it would cost more to go to the genius bar and have them do everything, or if i should buy a new but plastic screen like this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400095670538#ht2180wt1026) and have them put it in.
I've had the computer since May, and desperately need it to do all my work. I was wondering if anyone here had any ideas on the most cost efficient way of fixing this. (Or if you have any suggestions about the trackpad, feel free to help me there too)

Had you not attempted to fix it yourself, $269US for Out of Warranty replacement through Apple.
Since it has been opened and attempted to be repaired by someone other than Apple, the Out of Warranty repair option is no longer available.
Find a competent local repair shop to replace the screen with an aftermarket screen (Apple does not sell parts) or purchase a new iPhone at full retail.

  • Where do I get my broken iPad  screen repaired?

Can I get the cracked screen of my iPad 2 repaired., and where?

Apple's Limited Warranty http://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/ for iPad excludes coverage for damage resulting from accident, disassembly, unauthorized service and unauthorized modifications.
The warranty will apply to the country of purchase. And if there is a problem needing repair you have to return it to the country of purchase.
    Out-of-Warranty Service
If you own an iPad that is ineligible for warranty service but is eligible for Out-of-Warranty (OOW) Service, Apple will replace (Apple doesn't repair) your iPad with an iPad that is new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability for the Out-of-Warranty Service fee listed below. (The replacement will most likely be a refurbished iPad in a brown box, however, it has a new screen, back and battery.)

    Out-of-Warranty Service Fee
    iPad mini
    $219
    iPad 3rd, 4th, Air

A $6.95 shipping fee will be added if service is arranged through Apple and requires shipping. All fees are in US dollars and are subject to local tax.
Certain damage is ineligible for out-of-warranty service, including catastrophic damage, such as the device separating into multiple pieces, and inoperability caused by unauthorized modifications. However, an iPad that has failed due to contact with liquid may be eligible for out-of-warranty service. See http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&geo=United_States&product=ipad

  • Ipad 2 LCD screen repair

I dropped my ipad 2 a day before yesterday and the LCD screen got broke and I barely can't see the screen because it's all light green and pink. I'm going to take my ipad 2 to the apple store tomorrow and how much do you expect? and how long does it usually take?
P.S.: I bought my ipad 2 on last August (but i don't have a receipt.. is it okaY?) and it's not a year yet.

Replacements are usually offered on the spot.  You make an appointment at the Genius Bar of your Apple Store.  Go in, show them your iPad, give it to them, pay the fee and get a replacement, go home, set it up and that's that.
Use this link to schedule an appointment.  If you just walk in the store, you could find yourself waiting hours for a Genius Bar appointment.

I'm thinking of buying a second hand MSI AE2051 with broken LCD to repair it.
Does anyone knows if it is very difficult operation to do or anyone has a disassembling guide?
I disassembled other PC and Macbook laptops to change HD so I am not a newbie.
    Thank you for your help

  • Where is the sensor that turns off screen holding to ear on calls/brightnes

I bought a cheap molded rubber case that covers the back of iPhone and the upper and lower parts on the front. It affects the light sensor and the phone screen doesnt go dark when I hold to my face and it doesnt allow the brightness sensor to work properly. I want to get a different case that doesnt mess with the sensor, do you know where its at exactly?
    TIA

Rubber case that covers the light sensors? Solution: Xacto knife and very careful cutting skills.
If you can't see these two sensors behind the glass above the earpiece, get a very bright flashlight and shine directly above the earpiece, trying different angles. You should see a very small dot just above the center of the earpiece, with an elongated sensor just to the right of that. It's behind the glass which appears to be smoked in that area.
Wonder if the various case manufacturers didn't have access to this tibdit of information prior to the launch of the iPhone. It certainly seems like an important detail to note when designing a case.
For the record, I am using only an Incase belt clip holster - and keep the phone "naked" for regular use. Easier to use in the dock that way, and a couple quick swipes on my jeans every so often keeps the glass clean enough.
As someone noted elsewhere in this forum, the light sensor checks the ambient light to set the proper brightness only after the the phone is unlocked each time. However, if you go to the Voicemail screen, it appears that the sensors become fully active at that point, and you don't need to be on a call to see the effect of covering those sensors or shining a bright flashlight at them. Give it a try.

  • Where's the cheapest place to get a factory unlock code?

I use a Canadian network called Rogers and I would love to unlock it so I can use my phone in Brazil

  • After getting my LCD screen repaired, my firmware file is suddenly not compatible

The pixels in my screen were dying so first I took it to the apple store where they told me that either they could do an expensive repair or get a new ipod. So i went to a local phone repair store so they could fix it cheaper than the apple store. When I got it back, there was nothing on my ipod.. so i figured they had just reset it and I would just plug it in and I could get all my music back on. But when I plugged it in, an error message that said "itunes has detected an ipod that appears to be corrupted." and told me it needed to be restored. So when I tried to restore it, another error message came up saying that it couldnt be restored because my firmware file is not compatible. I also noticed that the back of the ipod says it's a 160gb model when my ipod is actually the 120gb model. I was confused so I called the store and they told me they had to replace some parts of mine with another ipod's parts for some reason. My ipod also has a new serial number.. So I took it to the genius bar and they reset it and it seemed to work fine but when I got home and tried to plug it in, i got the same error messages. So I called apple and someone walked me through TONS of solutions, but all of them to no avail because the problem is the hardware on my ipod. Does anyone know what might be wrong with it? If it's unfixable, i believe a certain phone repair shop owes me another ipod.

most likely the repair gave you someone else iPod with jailbreak firmware, that doesn't work,so  get your iPod back from them. Have it repaired at a 3rd Party iPod repair center. Google for it.

  • LCD screen is severely cracked

Where can I buy a new LCD screen for an ipod nano 3rd generation?
How would I be able to replace the LCD screen?

    Hey there,
There are several businesses out there that offer replacement LCD screens for your iPod. Just do a simple google search for "ipod replacement parts" and you should receive a plethora of sites that can help you. I would recommend doing a bit of shopping around, just to get a good idea of the best offers out there.
    Here are a few choices:
    [ifixit|http://www.ifixit.com>
    [RapidRepair|http://www.rapidrepair.com>
    [iPodParts|http://www.ipodparts.com>
I wouldn't repair the LCD screen if you didn't feel comfortable enough. You would run the risk of hurting your iPod even more and being out of the money you spent for the new screen you tried to repair yourself. Several businesses offer the replacement parts as well as the service for a decent price.
    Hope this helps.
