Where is the command in itunes 11 to "get track names again"?

Actually, I need to get track names more than once AFTER I have ripped the CD.
My situation: I ripped a CD, got the message "multiple matches were found online for this cd" (I need this case, 4) and chose the wrong one so that all the tracks are named untitled.
Later (with no CD) I selected the mp3 track (In the Recently Added playlist) right-clicked and chose "Get Track Names" and chose the 2nd of 4 matches, but this was also wrong. Now, if I right-click and choose "Get Track Names" I can see a very brief cddb lookup in the top center (status?) window, but I don't get the  dialog box offering the 4 cddb matches any more.
So now I still don't have the right track names and I can find no way to do another cddb lookup without inserting the original CD. Shouldn't there be a way?
Thanks I need advance,

No, the old album list view is not an option in iTunes 11...
You can restore much of the look & feel of the previous version with these shortcuts:
ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album view use Edit > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
If you still feel the need to roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the 32 bit installer or 64 bit installer as appropriate, uninstall iTunes and supporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.

    Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
    This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

  • After downloading the latest version of iTunes, I cannot get track names to appear when burning a cd from my playlists.  Any ideas, please??????

    What gives?  I cannot get track names to appear on recently burned cd's. Just downloaded latest version of iTunes.  I'm at a total loss.  Have Googled- tried several things to no avail.

    Go to the iTunes folder (it is in Music folder) and do this:
    1. Back up your music
    2. Delete "iTunes Library.itl". Then, open iTunes again and it should work

  • ITunes cannot get track names

    hi community,
    although this subject is one often talked about, I have to reask it because my parameters are different from the other discussions.
    Frist seen this error was when I transferred my music files per "home-sharing"-function between my MacbookPro (with CD-drive) and my iMac (without). After transferring while using >home-sharing > song-selection > "import" > importsettings as everytime (wave, 48kHz, Stereo, 16-bit) I tried to update the songnames and the artwork by "get album artwork" (worked fine) and "get track names" (error appeared).
    So I was sad about not getting my music files working correctly on my iMac without buying an external drive, because "remote disk" is unable to share music and video cds/dvds.
    So I thought about completing my music on my MBP (Snow Leopard) and transferring manually by copying and importing (that worked for some other files before).
    I inserted the cd, started importing with settings above. After importing I saw that the tracks names saved on the cd weren't that optimal (correct yes, but the title included album and interpret, which I dont like: ALBUM: INTERPET - SONG".
    So I searched the cd in iTunes (to know wether there are disc-info and disc-artwork to import), found it and tried to start getting track names. But the error appears.
    Error-message (should be known): iTunes cannot get CD track names for files, which are not imported by iTunes. To get track names please import the CD with iTunes.
    So I >imported< (not added) the CD directly about internal SuperDrive to my iTunes library. It got some file names from the CD, the album cover was taken from iTunes with "get album artwork". But getting tracknames ends up in this curious error.
    Someone here, who finessed iTunes in this case? Deleting files completely and reimporting didn't make any difference. And changing all song names manuelly is actually no option because I have not enogh time yet.
    Remeber the error appeared in this cases:
    - iMac 27" (late 2012), Mountain Lion 10.8.4, latest iTunes --> importing albums with home-sharing (with should be the same like importing a disc (iTunes asks for format, import-settings, etc.)
    - MacbookPro 15" (late 2010), Snoq Leopard 10.6.8, iTunes 11.0.4 --> importing CDs directly with internal superdrive. getting track names while CD is inserted worked, getting track names after ejecting cd to get iTunes-track-names got the error.
    Maybe intereseting that this issue didn't appeared when I first set up my collection some month ago (in the meantime I cleaned up my MBP and know wanna make complete new collection). that time i think there was iTunes 9 or 10 actual ... but same discs etc. worked before. And on my iTunes on PC, where I made another music database for myself these month ago, everything worked perfectly fine including getting the track names ...
    I'd be very glad if someone knows how to cope with this issue.

    This is an error that just started appearing on my iMac 27.  Pain in the A**!!

  • Why is 'Get track names' not available with my iTunes purchase?

    I have just purchased a song from the iTunes store and it has been downloaded into my music folder. All is well so far. However, when i create a playlist and add the new song along with others from my music folder so that i can burn them to a CD the track name is not shown on the purchased track (all the others, yes but not the new one). If i look at 'get info' all of the information is shown but when i try to 'get the track name' i am told that iTunes can only get track names for tracks imported from iTunes...which is exactly where i got it from! What's going wrong. Why can't i get this track name? Any suggestions??? D/.

    Hi,
    Thanks very much for your reply. Although it was very good at explaining how the system works it doesn’t really help me to solve the problem.
    I rip all my CD’s into iTunes and then make a copy of them to play in my car. It saves getting the originals lost or damaged and it also means that when I play them on my car audio system the track details are displayed; which is good.
    With the disc I am trying to burn now most of the tracks were already ripped into iTunes and when interrogated they all display the track name, with the exception of the track I bought via iTunes store yesterday which although it shows the track info it does not show the track names. All I get is this message:
    So, is there any other way I can import this track into my library so that when I add it to my playlist and burn to a CD it will show the track name? This is most of what is shown in track info:
    I would say that when I look at the track in my music folder on my pc it is showing as an mp3 (MPEG layer 3 audio) file if this helps.
    Thanks, coxmeister

  • MacBook Pro: Where is the Command button?

    where is the command button? i need to hold the command and option button while connecting my ipod to itunes for something.

    It's the key with a cloverleaf and/or Apple symbol, depending on the keyboard you're using.

  • Where's the music on iTunes, and what's with the quality and compatibility?

    I'm just curious as to whether anyone else has had this issue or not: Does anyone else feel like, after searching for specific songs, there's just little to nothing in the database? I feel like most of my searches are pointless because iTunes has either no data of my requested search and/or only has bits and pieces of it.
    Another question I have: After having a slightly successful search, why am I left with low quality tunes? I mean, you can hear the compression... badly. (I know it's not my speakers)
    Last question: If I'm paying for the song, shouldn't I be allowed to download a universal file? iTunes uses a unique format that no other application uses. In other words, more money has to be spend for m4a to mp3 converters (unless you're a cracker [not a racial comment]).
    To me, I value iTunes and its team, so I'm sorry if I've offended anyone. I understand there are contracts involved with the artists and it's hard to please ALL of the subscribers. But seriously, where's the music on iTunes, and what's with the quality and compatibility?
    Custom   Windows XP Pro   Negative, I am a meat popsicle.

    Today I thought of finally putting lyrics on my songs. So I've been quite some time busy doing that, then I tried it on my iPad (2) and I can't find them. Just as the people above say. Then I went to search where I can find them and I found this page. I'm really dissapointed and I don't understand how something like this could happen. So I hope Apple will fix this soon.
    (I'm just posting this so that Apple will do something about it)

  • Disable clearing of /tmp on boot - where is the command in rc.sysinit

    Hi there, I want to disable the clearing of the /tmp folder on boot, but I can't seem to find the appropriate line in etc/rc.sysinit.
    Apparently this should be the line
    /bin/mountpoint -q /tmp || /bin/rm -rf /tmp/* /tmp/.* &>/dev/null
    but my rc.sysinit does not contain that at all:
    mountpoint -q /proc || mount -n -t proc proc /proc -o nosuid,noexec,nodev
    mountpoint -q /sys || mount -n -t sysfs sys /sys -o nosuid,noexec,nodev
    mountpoint -q /run || mount -n -t tmpfs run /run -o mode=0755,size=10M,nosuid,nodev
    mountpoint -q /dev || mount -n -t devtmpfs udev /dev -o mode=0755,size=10M,nosuid &>/dev/null \
    || mount -n -t tmpfs udev /dev -o mode=0755,size=10M,nosuid
    mkdir -p -m 1777 /run/lock
    mkdir -p /dev/{pts,shm}
    mountpoint -q /dev/pts || mount -n /dev/pts &>/dev/null \
    || mount -n -t devpts devpts /dev/pts -o mode=0620,gid=5,nosuid,noexec
    mountpoint -q /dev/shm || mount -n /dev/shm &>/dev/null \
    || mount -n -t tmpfs shm /dev/shm -o mode=1777,nosuid,nodev
    Also the "remove_leftover" function doesn't seem to be about cleaning /tmp... ?
    Where is the command that clears /tmp located in this file?

    Do you mean the Command/CMD key, or some reset button?
    If using a PC KB it's likely the Windows key that equals CMD on Mac.
