Where is the define article tool in Acrobat XI?

I see the articles panel, but can't locate the tool for defining an article. What am I missing?
Thanks!

Are you using Acrobat XI Standard or Professional?
Check the Show/Hide panel in tools pane.

Anoop

  • Where is the polygonal capture tool on PSE 11?

Where is the polygonal capture tool on PSE 11? It was on PSE 9. If it does no longer exist on PSE 11, how can I get a similar capture as with the polygonal one.
    Thx for your kind answer

Do you mean the polygonal lasso tool? If so, click on whatever lasso tool is visible and you'll see it at the bottom of the screen on the left end of the Tool Options. Just click it there to activate it.
If you mean the Polygonal Shape tool, click whatever shape tool is visible (usually the icon is a blue blob like an amoeba if you haven't used the shape tools yet) and choose it in the tool options.

Where is the Rectangle Hotspot tool in Dreamweaver CC 2014.1?

Thanks to all. I should've made it known that I had no clue what it looked like. I'm using Dreamweaver 2014.1 trial but my book is the Dreamweaver 2014 version. Things aren't in the same place and the book only showed the shapes after you've clicked the icon.

  • Where is the vertical type tool in InDesign CC 2014???

    aarrgghh
Where is the vertical type tool in InDesign CC 2014???

Thanks. Yes, I had referred to that InDesign Secrets post before posting my question. Thus my question about table. Still dont know why my insert table command is greyed out. The stairstep method doesnt work with my narrow spine and decorative, non-monospace font, as explained in exchange here with Bob Levine. And downloading the CJK version for this single, simple task is just too much trouble. The individual text frames proved the fastest solution.

  • Where is the rounded rectangle tool in PS6? Please be specific :)

Where is the rounded rectangle tool in PS6? Please be specific. AlI see is the rectangle tool and not the rounded one.

Grouped in the same slot as the other shape tools.
Click and hold on the shape icon in the toolbox to reveal the hidden tools.
The little black arrow beside most of the icons in the toolbox means there are hidden tools grouped in the same slot.

  • What happened to the "Text Edits Tool" in Acrobat X?

I know the answer is "it went away" but, seriously, please bring it back. In Acrobat 9, when you activated the "Text Edits Tool," it would automatically switch between insert, delete, and replace text in a context-sensitive way. You just had an active tool cursor - if you highlighted text and started typing, it would "replace" the text. If you clicked in one spot and started typing, it would "insert" text. If you highlighted text and clicked the Delete key, it would "delete" text. All this with one tool, that stayed active the entire time you were using it.
Now, in Acrobat X, you have 3 different tools. You have to click to select the tool - mark the change. Click to select the next tool and mark that change. And on and on. And while you can right-click on any single tool and select "Keep tool selected" - there's no way to make that the default behavior. And that doesn't help when switching back and forth between activities.
I know that the Selection Tool can now almost serve as the old "Text Edits Tool" - this works quickly with delete, but requires the tilde shortcut for insert or replace. Basically one extra step for each edit than there was with the Text Edits Tool.
One might think that that little extra click isn't a big deal - but when you are marking up a PDF all day, every day, it adds up.

I assume you're talking about commenting and markup rather than editing the text of the document itself.
The keyboard shortcuts are  designed to do exactly what you want. With the multi-select tool active (I beam + black arrow on the toolbar):
Select some text and press the Insert key - a new Replace text annotation is created and the note panel opened for typing. Press Esc to close the note
Click to place the cursor within some text and press the Insert key - a new Insert text annotation is created and the note panel opened.
Select some text and press the Delete key - a strikeout annotation is created (no note this time but you can add one by double-clicking)
The idea of selecting something and 'just typing' to activate a markup event could not be retained as it interfered with the single-key accelerator mode.

  • My time capsule is dead - where did the support article go?

    Hi,
my time capsule just died - the known power supply issue, and it falls under the serial range referred to here:
    http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/blog/2010/jul/12/apple-time-capsule-recall- replace-fault
The article is old as well as the support article dealing with the issue (old link: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3351?viewlocale=de_DE) Now, I can imagine what the guys in my apple store are gonna tellme, when I show up with my dead TC, but at least I want to show them proof that I am right before they do me wrong. Does anyone know where this article was moved to (or happen to have an old copy / Screenshot?).
    cheers,
    Erik

It no longer applies.. that is why it was taken down.. warranty + applecare never extends beyond 3years.. all Gen1 TC are now more than 3years old.. if yours has lasted out this long.. more than 4years.. it worked exactly as Apple designed it to.. and is now in need of replacement.
But there is plenty of DIY fix it info if you want it.

  • Where is the 3d camera tool?

The help refers to "the 3d camera tool" in the tools panel. I see none. Where is it? I am using photocopy cc, attempting to manipulate a 3d layer.
In the current view, the default right after making a new extrusion from a 2d layer, there are 3 icons to orbit, pan and dolly. But, I would like to perform other actions listed in help.

  • Where is the "Load Testing Tool" ?

Anyone where I can download the "Load Testing Tool" which is mentioned in the below page?
    Adobe Flash Media Server Tools
Use these tools to assist you in managing your server: FMSCheck, FLVCheck, Load Testing Tool, F4V Post Processor Tool, Sample Video player with Dynamic Streaming support, and the Administration Console.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flashmediaserver/
The "Load Testing Tool" didn't show on "Adobe Flash Media Server productivity tools and sample downloads" page.
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=fms35

I think that section needs to be corrected - Adobe as of now does not support or have any FMS load testing tool. Thanks for pointing this out so that we can correct the same. Sorry for inconvenience caused.

  • Where is the Getting Started page in Acrobat 9?

I seem to be missing the Getting Started page in Acrobat 9 that has all the project types that pops up when you first start Acrobat. Acrobat 8 had this, but now when I run Acrobat 9, I just get Acrobat 9 with menus and toolbars only. Is this something that was removed from 9?

    Hi Jean-Paul,
It was removed in Acrobat 9 (you aren't the first to miss it).
    Hope this helps,
