This forum is maintained by the JHeadstart Team, which might contain (quite a few) members who used to work on Designer Headstart but have not been involved with that toolstack for years. We have forwarded your and other questions posted recently on this forum to the people that maintained the Designer Headstart forum, and we'll let you know the answers we get the moment we get them.

There have recently been some changes that some of you will have
noticed to the name of this forum; it changed from 'Designer
Headstart' to 'Designer'.
A new forum has been created for 'Designer Headstart'.
I agree that it may have been simpler just to create
a 'Designer' forum, but there were technical reasons why it was
done this way, so could we ask that all future Headstart posts
(and those concerning the other Accelerators including ODWA,
CDM, CDM RuleFrame) be posted to the Designer Headstart forum
rather than the Designer forum.
In this way, the Accelerators and Designer Product Management
teams can monitor their own respectives forums.

Where is the design tab in fluid layout

Hello,
I'm using the latest version of Dreamweaver downloaded from Adobe CC.
Following some YouTube tutorials.
When creating normal html pages at the top left hand side of the screen there are three buttons
"code" "split" "live"
The last one "live" has a small drop down arrow and i can toggle between "live" and "design"
I started watching some tutorials about fluid design templates.
In the videos they are still clicking on the "design" button.
When create a fluid grid page in this new version, the "design" option isn't there at all. Only "code" "split" "live" remain.
I just wondered if this is something that has been changed in the program and the "design" view is not an option any more?
Could someone clarify that for me, and if it is hidden, please could they point it out. Seems like a lot of fluid grid tutorials on youtube are working with the design view, so its a bit difficult if i can't view that page in that mode.

Design View was removed from FluidGrid Layouts in the October release of CC 2014.1.

Where's the Designer SDK developer guide?

I'm doing some testing to see how hard it would be to programmatically build a universe based on our existing meta data. I'm able to open existing universes, but I'm having trouble exporting. When I call Universes.Export(), I get an exception that simply states, "Unable to export universe."
Why is the Designer SDK the only SDK without a developer guide?
Can anybody provide me with some sample code that builds a new universe and exports it (preferably in C#).

Notice that the only SDK without a developer guide is the Designer SDK. I'm really starting to wonder how much it is actually used.
Like I mentioned in my previous post, I can open existing universes, but I'm having trouble exporting. I just get an ambiguous error message stating that it "cannot export universe". The documentation is not up to date with the API I'm using. I'm seeing that the method signatures have changed on a few of the methods. Plus, it appears that some of the methods need to be called in a specific order for them to succeed. Without the source or good documentation, the task is pretty frustrating.
I'm trying to create a universe programmatically and then export it. Anybody have a code example?

Where did the video lounge forum go?

i haven't been here in a while. a lot has changed. there used to be a lot of funny stuff and cool off topic threads here in the video lounge.
now it seems to be only a place where people ask for free youtube intros...it's kinda sad in a way.

I think that part of the problem is that when many of us started hanging out in here, there were not a lot of places to read about video related topics, or discuss video related topics.
There were a couple of contests back in the day and we had a lot of fun.
But there are so many places on the web now that deal with video, and so many people who shoot video with their cameras and their phones, that we don't see as many people here probably because there is nothing at all unique about people shooting video.
I had a very popular web site because I collected all of the info that I could into one place. Now you can just Google what you want and there are lots of places that can help you find just the right info or product. So I am retiring my site and planning on using it for my photography portfolio.
In other words, it just isn't the same anymore.
For a while we had a guy who posted lots of stuff every day, but he was not happy and eventually got tired of being told to calm down, so he is gone, or is using a new screen name.and not posting much.
But you never know. Maybe a few new people will start interesting conversations that will entice the rest of us back into participating.

Where is the community support forum? I want to interact with "human beings"

Hi, I am looking for a community to interact with people.
I don't want to ask questions to a computer, it is not friendly. The main issue I have with this is that I thought Mozilla was all about being open and working together, but I can not see this at all here.
How do I communicate with other users?

I don't feel like I can browse through the comments of real users when I enter the Mozilla site. It feels like I am inputting my issue and getting submitted response, not an interactive experience with users with similar issues.

The Application bar: where is the Designer dropdown workspace in CC?

Running Dreamweavercc 13.2 on PC how do i get the application to show up ? i have looked everywhere ?

Looks like a dual monitor setup and you have the Application Frame for DW on the right hand monitor.
It also appears you are NOT missing the menu I specifically asked about?
If you are looking for more tools in your toolbar, you may need to open the relevant window from the Window menu, then click and drag the named tab of the window up to the top of your Application Frame until it highlights. When you release, the window will stick to whichever part of the Application Fram you designate.
You can also right click in the toolbar below the Title: Chats text field to bring up the toolbar options.
My guess is you want the Insert menu located at Window > Insert. Once the window is open, you can turn it into a tool bar by following the steps above.
