Where is the Dreamweaver CS5 Help Menu Quick Search Field?

Adobe sucks! Why can't they build in the help field quick search like their other apps do? Frustrating!

Hey Bob,
Thanks for the advise. We both know how Adobe drops the ball all the time. Believe me I'm moving away as soon as possible. Just keep an eye on all the poor implementation I document as I go through this awful process of migrating with all the substandard software development.
Thanks again!

  • Where are the Dreamweaver CS5 "assets" folders?

I've had to clean reinstall Mavericks and am trying to find the assets (mainly snippet blocks of code to frequently reuse in website entries).  I can't seem to find them in my Time Machine backup.  What are the files named and where in what part of the directory would Dreamweaver save them?

Mine are in Macintosh HD > Applications > Adobe Dreamweaver ## > Configuration > Snippets
(Replace ## with your DW version, e.g., 'CS6')

CS5 for Windows can only be installed on Windows operating system.
You would need to purchase CS5 for Mac OS.
Given that CS5 is now 4 versions back, it's unlikely you'll find a copy.
You could get DW CC from the Creative Cloud which supports both Win/Mac platforms.

  • Where is the Patterns pop-up menu, and how do I make the little ?

Where is the Patterns pop-up menu, and how do I make the little crapper pop up? (huh. They don't have and emoticon for furious.)
I have been searching the "Help" system for hours.  All I want to do is find a picture of an empty blue sky to put behind two airplanes.

From the Toolbox, select the Paint bucket tool
In the Paint bucket options at the top, change from "Foreground" to "Pattern".
Click on the Pattern block to the right and the Pattern dialog will pop up.

  • I currently have iTunes version 7 and I need to upgrade to version 10.  I am afraid of losing all my music if I just download 10 and when I use the "Check for updates" in the version 7 help menu, it tells me the server cannot be contacted.

I currently have iTunes version 7 on my computer and need to upgrade to version 10 to sync my new nano iPod.  When I tried the "check for updates" under the version 7 "help" menu, it said it could not contact the update server.  I am afraid if I just download version 10 from the website, it will wipe out my music library.  What should I do to upgrade?

Back up your music and install from the website. You probably won't need to do this, but if your library is erased, restore it from the backup.

  • Implementation of F4 value help for a search field which is an EEWB field

    Hi...
I am trying to create a F4 value help for a search field which is an eewb field. The f4 value help jus need to be a pop up containing the values of the field existing in the system.Since this is a search field the GET_V method cannot be used. I tried implementing it by creating a search help and then using it in the GET_DQUERY_VALUEHELPS method. But the problem when u use the search help is that all the values including the null values and duplicate entries will be populated when f4 is clicked. Is there any way to filter the values that get populated when f4 is clicked? If any other method can be used to implement the functionality please let me know..Thanks in advance....

    Hi,
the GET_V methods worked for me most of the time. Even in advanced searchs. Only time they do not is if there is a different aproach considered in the GET_DQUERY_VALUEHELPS.
As the GET_V_ you created obviously was called I suppose you found the correct place to Populate it to be used in the search.
I do not know what the problem with the NULL values and duplicate entries is you talked about, but it sounds to me the creation of your valuehelp class is flawed. Not the integration into the UI.
Maybe have a look at SAPs' standard implementations of Search Components. You should get a feeling for how search helps work. See. BT111S_OPPT, BP_HEAD_SEARCH

  • Where is Dreamweaver CS5 help?

I am about to start learning DW CS5 and when I go to the help menu I get help for newer versions... how do I access the help that should come with the program - please?

Again, I own it and it will do everything I needŠ (you haven't actually
asked me what my needs are have you?)
I guess that unlike some others I am not enamoured with the latest and
greatestŠ having cut my teeth on punch cards and run software development
    companies I've seen too much
My initial problem is with the online support; it isn't. Adobe changed the
web side in order to make life difficult for me and try to force an upgrade
instead of simply giving me what I paid for. When I bought the Master
Collection I didn't have time to mess around with DW but the help/tutorials
were right there. Now I go back and poof! They're gone. That is, IMHO, not a
    good user experience.
I shouldn't have to create yet another account, don't get me started every
Tom, Dick and Harry wants to "own" their customers now, thanks BTW to the
latest and greatest on the webŠ anyway having to create an account and
basically wasting days of my time in order to access easily what I paid for
is galling, to say the least.
Am I the only person who feels this way?
I am a little surprised at your response though, be honest, does Adobe
compensate you in some way? I ask because we used to hire forum "experts" to
act as independent contributors and help customers, I think we called it
    "Web 2.0" LOLŠ
Any web programmer I've ever hired/worked with with never use something like
DW for real development, everything is hand-coded. DW only works in a
professional sense as a place to create mock-ups, no? Anyway, that is what
I'm doingŠ as I said it works for me.
    Just saying,
    Mark

  • Apple kidnapped my Photoshop CS5 Help Menu

    Hi,
I've taken a break from using my CS5 Photoshop program and was needing help editing text, so I clicked on "Help" like I did when I was taking a class in Photoshop last year. All the Help Menu brings up now are things related to my Apple computer. I know a call to Apple Care will result in something like, "We don't troubleshoot Adobe products," so I'm wondering if anybody knows where my Photoshop Help Menu topics disappeared to.
Did I only have them for a year? Did the Help Menu expire? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

No an actual solution for the issue, but you could just download the pdf-version.

  • I can't make an editable template in dreamweaver CS5 help!

Here is my problem. I insert an editable region, and that works just fine. However, when trying to create a page from this template, I can't edit the CSS. Normally, I click the area of the CSS I want to edit, and go to modify>templates>make attribute editable. When I create a page, nothing is editable. I'm lost.
Here is the code I'm using so far: (I have not added a 'make attribute editable' in this code yet)  Thanks!

  • Dreamweaver CS5 Spry Menu problem;

Hi, I'm doing a web-site project for my Web Design class, and I ran into a problem. In Dreamweaver my spry menu only shows one part of the menu, but when I go to preview it, its perfectly normal. When I turned it into my teacher he sees the spry menu just like the one in Pic 2. I can't really upload it to a public domain/website because I can't at school. The way we see websites is by transfering folders into the teachers folders and click the index.html. Is there any way to fix this?

  • IPad mini 3 mic is quiet and where is the mic, please help....???

hello guys i bought my iPad mini 3 today. I'm trying to guess even where the mic is, I'm guessing its at the top on the back well it looks like a mic. but anyway i recently done a video of myself to test the mic on the iPad. and it seems quiet. don't know if I'm doing something wrong. i am currently installing IOS 8.1.2 now. can someone tell me if the mic is faulty, or if I'm doing something wrong. the volume is on full. please help........

    Hi Townsend1990,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your new iPad. If you are looking for more information on the locations of the dual mics on the iPad Mini 3, you may find the following page helpful. If you are having mic issues, especially if you have your iPad in a case, you may want to make sure that the mics aren't obstructed.

  • I seem to be missing only the "Tools" and "Help" menu items from the top toolbar - is there a way to get them to appear?

I tried reinstalling Firefox, but that didn't help, nor did resetting the toolbar settings is Safe Mode.

In version 3.6, the user can hide the Menu Bar; see below
'''<u>Menu Bar</u>''' (File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help) , see: <br/>
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Menu+bar+is+missing
    * Press F10, Menu bar will appear, click View, click Toolbars, click Menu bar
    * Press ALT, the Menu bar will appear, click View, click Toolbars, click Menu bar<br />
    * Hold down the ALT button while pressing V+T+M
'''<u>Navigation Toolbar</u>''' (Back/forward, Refresh...Home, URL/Location Bar, Search Bar): Do one of the following
#click View > Toolbars, click on "Navigation Toolbar" to place a check mark, OR#right-click the Menu Bar, click "Navigation Toolbar" to place a check mark. See: <br />

'''<u>Full Screen Mode</u>''': If you have no Toolbars or Tab Bar: Press F11 (F11 is an on/off toggle). See: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Netbooks#Full_screen<br />

  • Customizing the Dreamweaver CS5 workspace

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/dreamweaver/cs/using/WScbb6b82af5544594822510a94ae8d65-7f82a.h tml

Have you followed these instructions exactly as they are:
    <http://help.adobe.com/en_US/dreamweaver/cs/using/WScbb6b82af5544594822510a94ae8d65-7f82a.h tml#WScbb6b82af5544594822510a94ae8d65-7f70a>
The look and feel of your work in design view is derived from the styles you have used.  Perhaps, you need to look at the font styles of your document.  The instructions will create default fonts and size but as you may know, these can be over-ridden by the user using CSS.
Perhaps you should explicitly enter the font family and font size (if these are not in your styles) to have any visual impact in your design window. Aso make sure the fonts you use are already installed on your system, otherwise it would be a futile exercise.
    Good luck.

  • Serial Number CS5 help Menu?

    Hello-
Trying to locate my serial number, and no I don't have it on Adobe.com.  But I found a serial number located in CS5 under the Help Drop down, under System Information.  Is this the actual Serial Number?  Just trying to find it because I'm getting a new computer at work, and the IT guy that installed CS5 on my computer no longer works here.
