Where is the drum pad in Notion?

Just purchased and downloaded Notion. It says in the reference manual that there is a drum pad  using which I can select which voice to enter notes. I can only call up a keyboard, a fretboard or a mixer - no drum pad. This is particularly weird; I would expect to have to purchase additional instruments but I would not expect to have to purchase an actual part of the program itself. Perhaps I am missing something. Has anybody the answer to this?

What you are missing, is the right forum. This is the Logic Pro forum.

  • Where are the foam pads for the earbuds?

Hi! I just got a new 80GB iPod Classic. The earbuds are NOT comfortable. My friends have foam pads that came with their iPod earbuds, but there are no foam pads in the box. Help?

They Apple earphones no longer come with foam pads, I believe they were discontinued when the earphones were updated to the latest design. Replacement foam pads can be found in many local electronics or audio shops quite cheaply if you have a look around.

  • Why are drum pads not a valid MIDI input the screen controls pallet?

I'm slowly getting around to creating a Concert that represents my controller setup and realized that the drum pads have a different behavior.
When setting up my Korg nanoPAD as a drum sample controller, I have to map it to a keyboard and not a 2x6 drum pad group. If I do not assign it to a keyboard, I cannot associate it with a channel strip playing back an EXS drum kit. They keyboard drop down in the MIDI input properties for a channel strip will not list the nanoPAD as an input even though I have already associated the pads with their virtual counterparts in the Layout tab.
I can manually assign each pad to a MIDI note, but that sends the note event to all channel strips and I have no control over that.
    What gives??
It looks really lame to have another keyboard widget in my concert layout when all want is a representation of the 12 pads on the nanoPAD.

In edit mode, you should be able to create mappings that effectively transform your incoming drum pad note into another note on a specific channel strip. You can create multiple mappings per drum pad in order to trigger different sounds on different notes per channel strip.
If you don't want a keyboard you can also use the "MIDI activity" object, it acts like a keyboard but takes up less space and doesn't display layers. It also glows to let you know that MIDI activity is coming in. Since all of the routing happens through screen objects, you need some sort of object there to do the routing -- either the MIDI activity object or the keyboard. The drum pads let you have additional flexibility since they allow you to make mappings (including changing patches, etc.), but the routing still needs to happen through one of the two routing objects unless you want to make each drum pad directly as I explained above.

  • How to assign drum pads of mpk mini in Ultrabeat????

This question has probably been answered before but i could not for the life of me find a thread or response anywhere that helped me solve my issue which is:
I have an mpk mini controller it has 25 key keyboard, 8 drum pads with 2 banks, and 8 knobs. I am new to Logic and especially Ultrabeat and have been having major trouble when it comes to assigning my controller. Specifically i need help with how to assign the drum sounds in ultrabeat to the drum pads on my midi controller. I have heard that ultrabeat has a learn function but i cant seem to figure out how to use it in Ultrabeat. The keys on the keyboard work fine, when i hit them i can hear the drum sounds in Ultrabeat and can see the coresponding keys on the Ultrabeat interface lighting up so that is all well and good. But im trying to figure out how to program/assign my 16 pads(8pads w/ 2 banks) in Ultrabeat itself without having to use the editor software that came with my midi controller...is this possbile? I can see @ the top of the Ultrabeat window 4 drop down boxes grouped as "midi controller assignments" but when i click them and select "learn" nothing happens when i hit the notes with my mouse on Ultrabeat and then try to hit the pad i want that note to be assigned to. I know im missing a step here or doing something wrong.... Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

How do you assign certain sounds to certain triggers of a midi device in logic? I >cant figure it out for the life of me :\
You can create a Mapped Instrument object in the Logic Environment and cable to the Ezdrummer Channel strip. Set the Mapped Instr object to "No Port" and create a track for the Mapped Instr in the Arrange. Double click the M.I to open its dialog. You will find a column where you can change/transform the Note Pitches. For example SN1 from D1 to E1 etc. You can select the M.I track and record events on it. Note during play the note events will be transformed in real time but if try to record you will fined that your original notes are recorded. If want to record the transformed notes then you must patch the M.I between the Physical Input and the Sequencer Input in Click & Ports layer.

  • Can I map a drum pad to Tap Pad in Delay Designer?

    Hello Everyone,
I am trying to map a drum pad (M-Audio Trigger Finger) to the Tap Pad in Delay Designer using MainStage. For some reason MainStage will not let me map a Drum Pad screen control to the Tap Pad on the plugin. The screen control inspector won't show the Map Parameter button when a drum pad is selected but it will if a button is selected. The Trigger Finger is set up to send a note when the pad is hit. I would like to be able to tap out a rhythm on the drum pad and have that rhythm be recorded by Delay Designer - like what happens when you click out a rhythm on the tap pad with a mouse. It seems like this should work but I must be missing something. Can anyone help me out with this? Many Thanks in advance.

    Hi Koan22,
In my experience, Drum Pad objects can only be mapped to either MIDI notes, or items in the action menu (located in the parameter mapping browser). This looks as if you would not be able to map a Drum Pad object to this parameter in Delay Designer.
    However, I believe I may have found a work-around.
Simply add a button object to your layout, assign that object to the incoming trigger pad (MIDI Note Message), then map the button to the desired parameter. ( in this case Tap Record for Delay Designer).
** One more thing to note (Delay Designer specific): Don't forget to add a button for the "Last Tap" parameter to stop the tap clock.

  • Axiom 49 - MainStage - Cannot get drum pads to work

I'm just starting MainStage and using an Axiom 49 M-Audio keyboard. I got the message to select Preset 1, I didn't know what that was so I clicked ok without doing anything in the Axiom 49. I get sound and everything else. I seem to be able to assign controls with the sliders and knobs, but when I try to assign any of the 8 drum pads on the right of the keyboard they don't work. It seems to "Learn" the pads when I try and assign them, but I can only click on them with the mouse in edit and perform modes. However then they don't make the same sound that was previously assigned to them, just a general midi instrument with the assigned note under Hardware Assignment.

    Hi,
Try to re-program the drum pads to a more useful MIDI message, such as a note.
Please consult the keyboard's manual on how to do that.
    Cheers

  • Axiom 49 - never been able to get drum pads to work

I'm using an Axiom 49 M-Audio keyboard. I seem to be able to assign controls with the sliders and knobs, but when I try to assign any of the 8 drum pads on the right of the keyboard they don't do anything. It seems to "See" the pads, they do respond in the transport window as (from TtoB, LtoR) 71, 105, 106, 107, 74, 102, 103 and 104. However then they don't make any sound ever.
I recently tried "Learn"ing them in MainStage for the first time. Still Nothing.
Please help. I would really appreciate it. Sorry if this is completely rudimentary, but any direction would help.
    Thank you!

  • Cannot map drum pads on my MIDI controller

I have a Novation Impulse 25 MIDI keyboard, and I am trying to map the 8 drum pads it has.
What I want is the drum pads to trigger notes from C2 and higher. So it would be 8 in total from C2 to G2. By default they are triggering C3 and higher.
On the keyboard (internally on it) I mapped the pads correctly and when I press the first pad, on the little display of the keyboard it shows "C2 triggered".
But my Logic keeps interpreting it as C3
Would be grad if you could help me out.

If you go to Logic Pro -Preferences -Display -General there is an option to display Middle C as C3(Yamaha) or C4(Roland). Have you tried changing that. I don't think it will make any difference. Might be worth a try though.

  • Where is the magnet located in the track pad and display lid?

where is the magnet located in the track pad and display lid?
have to see if theres a problem with the display magnet because when i close the lid, the sleep function does not work.
am using a fridge magnet to move around the track pad to see if this will activate sleep mode. im begining to wonder if its worth just going with out the auto sleep mode and maybe try n get some money of what i paid for it (it was a refurb machine)

as a guess, around the middle of trackpad, maybe half an inch moving from the lead edge towards the screen
also, give it a few seconds to activate in any one spot - it's not instant

how to find  / where is the phone key pad with ios 7 all I get is face time no key pad

The delete key or backspace key is all that there is on a MacBook. It functions as a backward delete. If you want to use a forward delete, you need to hold down the fn (function) key in the bottom left of your keyboard and hit the delete or backspace key. For a more functional or normal approach for heavy writing, I might suggest an external keyboard with the forward delete key in place. -GDF

  • Where can i find the Launch Pad - iView?

    Hi,
can anyone tell me where i can find the Launch Pad iView?
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
actually the "Collaboration" link opens the portal component itself so there was not need for an iView here. The link is:
    http://YOUR_SERVER:PORT/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.netweaver.coll.shared.ui.CollaborationLaunchPad
But you can also create an iView based on that component (com.sap.netweaver.coll.shared.ui.CollaborationLaunchPad) if you want to change the LayoutSet, or some other parameter.
    Hope this helps,
    Robert

Sometimes during the "old-fashion" macbooks there is different feelings in the way you control it. Take it to the apple store and I am Pretty sure they can tell you what is going on and if it is "Time for a Upgrade".
