Where is the Edit Develop Settings option???

Hi all
I am doing some study for my Photoshop ACE exam with the help of a study guide (ACE Exam Aid).
One of the questions it asks is:
You have saved the current image settings as a preset in Camera Raw and want to apply it in part or whole to selected raw files in bridge. What should you do?
The answer turns out to be: Choose Edit > Develop Settings and then select preset by name.
Now for the life of me I can't seem to find this Edit > Develop settings option in Photoshop, Camera RAW or Bridge!
Any help would be greatly apprecaited.

Highlight an image in bridge, then simply go to edit and it is the 11th choice down in the list.

So here's my problem. I just used the "reset all settings" option, and accidentaly restored an old backup. It deleted all my photos and contacts, but for some reason I still have all the apps from after the backup date, and it also kept the notes from after the backup. The "reset all settings" option clearly says no loss of data or media, so I don't understand why some stuff got deleted. My question is, is there a way to get it back?

If you still can find a recent backup listed in iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices, use this one to restore from.
If there are no recent backups listed, your data is gone. Only if you included the iTunes backup folder into your computer backup routine, you could be able to restore this folder and find one of your latest backups listed again.

  • Where is the "do not restore" option?

Where is the "do not restore" option? I read a review somewhere that said it actually works in ML - but where is it? I can't find it in System Prefs.

It's disguised as "Close windows when quitting an application" on the General tab of System Preferences.

OK, so only if you have Pre-Orders you will see the option. I thought I have some but I guess I don't.
    Thanks.

  • File manipulation:  Where is the edit?

I can, with a little effort, find a single photo I've just imported, then I can edit it.  Nice.
Then what?  It seems to exist in the Touch app, and the Touch app alone.  I can't move the photo into another folder, even one created in Touch.  I can't upload it to FB (which is why I got the iPad in the first place), and the edited photo doesn't appear in the Photos app.
Where is the edited photo?  How can I move it?
I called Adobe Tech support, and no one there was trained in Touch and so couldn't help me.  I hope someone here can.

On the projects menu you can save it to your gallery or "share it"(icon with a square and arrow). I don't have a Facebook app installed so I don't know if it will show up in the "share it" menu. My Dropbox, Gmail,  and Evernote are there so I assume Facebook would be listed if I had it installed. You can share it with  jpeg, png, psdx, and psd file formats. If you save it to your gallery it is limited to jpeg and png.
You CAN NOT access the working file directly, but have to save an addiitional copy in another location that CAN be accessed. It's a little unconventional but I can easily change my workflow to accommedate it.
Also, I'm on version 1.4 and don't remember if 1.3 had this feature. In version 1.2 I wasn't able to "share it" to Dropbox. I'm also on a Galaxy Note 10.1 but assume it would be the same on an ipad.
There are some instructional videos on Youtube on how to use PS Touch.

or imagine you import large images sequence (200 hundred) and
need to reposition them all :)
The edit multiple frames options comes handy in such case...

  • Where is the plug in tab option in the upper menu bar when acrobat pro is installed on a mac

where is the plug in tab option in the upper menu bar when acrobat pro is installed on a mac

When Acrobat is installed first, it does not have a Plug-ins menu. When you buy extra plug-ins for Acrobat, some plug-ins will add a Plug-ins menu. Some won't - some will add other menus, or buttons, or something else.
    So
    1. Make sure you have purchased the Mac plug-in(s) you need.
    2. Make sure they are installed.
    3. Make sure they are compatible with your version of Acrobat; the Mac is much less forgiving about versions, you need to check carefully.
    4. If the plug-in is compatible and installed perhaps it doesn't add a plug-ins menu.

  • Where is the make a suggestion option on the suggestions page?

Where is the make a suggestion option on the suggestions page. https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=suggest. There is an "as a question" option but no "make a suggestion" option. Page as a whole is near-incomprehensible.

If you'd read the post "Purpose and best practices of this forum" https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/4605de7b-b370-439e-92a2-948141e08861/purpose-and-best-practices-of-this-forum?forum=suggest which
is pinned to the top of the forum you'd see that it's explained under best practices :
"Use Questions and not Discussion thread types, this will allow us to “close” suggestions once they are no longer relevant or have been addressed."
So no, there's no "make a suggestion" option, but then since I imagine that would require them to add an entire new type of post to the entire forums it's somewhat overkill, so instead you can simply use the question option which can be turned
    to the same purpose.

  • Where are the e-mail settings?

Hi, I have an E72, I have set up a POP3 e-mail server and I can receive e-mails with no problem, but I cannot send any! Now, I know how to solve the problem, I simply have to change the outgoing port number to the new one given by my e-mail provider, but I CANNOT FIND WHERE ARE THE OUTGOING SERVER SETTINGS!
The E-mail -> Settings -> Mailbox name -> Mailbox settings tab only has one server setting in it, and it says "Server name". There are no separate settings for Incoming and Outgoing servers! Where can I change them? In the Advanced mailbox settings there is only one setting - for the port number, but again not a thing about which are my ingoing and outgoing servers.
    Pls help.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    thanks albyzas, thanks thetao.
I have the last version (3.21 I think) and I know where the in/out settings should be located, but here is no such thing under the "Advanced Mailbox Settings"! The only settings I have are the port number and the secure connection on/off. I have this problem since I bought the E72. Previously, I had E71 and it had the in/out settings there!
BTW the provider I use is listed automatically for my country, just below Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo (I don't have to click "Other")
    So I have some questions:
    2) Delete and remake the mailbox.  Don't use Nokia Messaging (their push service) by Declining the terms of service.  Maybe that provides more control?
If I decline them, what client will I be using then?
    3) Can you remove the email client?  I hesitate suggesting that because some people have reported being unable to reinstall...but you can try if you feel daring.
If I remove it, how can I reinstall it later?
    4) Do you recall when the problem started?  If it happened after a firmware update, a hard reset ( *#7370# , default password 12345) will sometimes fix weird issues that occur after installing new firmware.  Be sure to make a backup first.
The Problem started when my e-mail provider decided to change the numbers of their ports several months ago...

  • Where's The Convert ID3 Tag option in iTunes 11?

What happened to the convert ID3 tag option in iTunes 11? It no longer appears when I right-click on a song.
Because iTunes still saves the ID3 tags in imported MP3's as v2.2, I have to convert the tags to v2.3 so that the MP3 information is recognized by my car radio.

Just to clarify for anyone else still having troubles.
Convert ID3 Tags... is still in iTunes 11, but it only shows up when you right-click on audio tracks while in Song or List View.
    To recap:
You MUST be in List or Song View.
You can NOT be in Grid, Artist List, or Album View.
Also, please remember that ID3 Tags are only for MP3/MPEG audio files, and NOT MP4/AAC/Apple Lossless audio files.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I control the default Develop settings in LR5?

I've used LR for many years but have never figured out the following:  When I work on a batch of photos in Develop, most of the time the Develop settings are on their normal defaults (e.g., 0 for most sliders; blank for lens, etc.)  As I process each photo and move to the next, the settings jump back to default.  Sometimes, however, this second step doesn't occur; when I open the second photo the Develop settings remain where I left them in processing the first photo.  Recently, LR sometimes opens with the settings I used in the last session, even though I have closed LR in the interim.
I know how to use Copy and Paste but they don't seem to be involved.  I don't know how to use Sync; I've watched a couple of tutorials but they assume a knowledge of Sync which I don't have.
    Any help appreciated.

If Auto Sync is enabled and more than one image selected, any editing done to one of the photos will be done simultaneously to all the selected photos. If only a single photo is selected, it will be the only one affected. Thus, moving to a new photo that was not selected together with the previous one it will open with the default settings. Auto Sync can be enabled when multiple photos are selected either from the Settings menu or by raising the toggle switch on the Sync button at the bottom of the right-side Develop panel.
"Recently, LR sometimes opens with the settings I used in the last session, even though I have closed LR in the interim."
This is as it should be. LR should always return to the editing done in an earlier session because every edit is immediately recorded and saved in the catalog database and the old edits are reapplied to the image preview every time it is opened

  • Where are the edited files located in Lightroom?

I want to be able to use my edited files in InDesign but the only way I know how to do it is to export them to a folder in the finder. This poses a couple of problems. For one it doubles the amount of disk space I use and perhaps more importantly it will not bring the changes I make in Lightroom over to InDesign. Does anyone know where Lightroom saves the edited files after they have been edited in Lightroom?

I don't know InDesign, so your mileage may possibly vary, but I don't get involved in formal LR exports and imports when editing with other apps.  What I do when I need to use another editing app in addition to LR is right-click the image in LR and select Edit In... and pick the app I want to use.*
I'm given three choices for the other app:  Edit a Copy With Lightroom Adjustments (the choice you want in your example), Edit Copy (start over, ignoring what I've done in Lightroom), Edit Original (ditto, but BZZT! not a great idea, to me at least).
The file opens in the other app (and also in Lightroom, as a copy) in the default file format that app is set to use, such as .tif, assumed here.  I make the edits I want there, and then I Save the image again within that app.  That saves the app-edited .tif copy back to the Windows folder being used by Lightroom for the imported .dng Lightroom image files. Note also that there is now a second copy of the image that appears in the Lightroom filmstrip, adjacent to the right side of the .dng image, that is the .tif file and reflects all the edits in the other app. I can make further edits within Lightroom to the .tif (or to the .dng file without the app edits), but in the .tif file, I now can't undo any changes made before I saved in the other app.  Those edits, including the Lightroom edits before opening in the other app, have now become destructive edits in that .tif file.  (This is why I recommend working with a copy, not the original.)  If I need to undo something LR did before I went to the other app, I delete the .tif file and start over with the .dng.
When I'm done editing from LR (I let LR manage the final edited copy), I can Export that .tif file with any additional edits LR made, Print from within LR, etc.
*If you can't see the app you want to use when you select Edit In, go in LR to Edit>Preferences>External Editing tab, and under Additional External Editor, click the Choose button and navigate to the .exe file for the app you want to use.  You also set the file format and other preferences there. Save your new preference with the OK button, and right-clicking will bring the other app up in LR as an Edit In option.

  • Where are the AE render settings in Media Encoder?

I'd like to use Adobe Media Encoder for background rendering, but how do you set the render settings (like bit depth, motion blur, solo switches, guide layers, ect)?
Also, how do you select the output color profile from AME?

    Hi Clint,
Sorry for the long delay on replying, I've been busy. Doesn't look like you've cross-posted this to the AME forum, so I'll take a crack at the answers:
    1) AE renders compositions at a bit depth of 8, 16, and 32 (float). AME can encode frames at 24, 32, 48, and 64 (for ProRes 4444, for example). How do these things relate to each other, and how/why should you use a particular AME bit depth setting for an AE comp?
These numbers all represent bit depth.  AE states bit depth in terms of bits per channel (bpc). AME usually states bit depth in total bits per pixel (bpp = bpc multiplied by the number of channels). It's one of those little inconsistencies that comes from the two apps growing up under different development teams.
RGB has three channels. RGB + Alpha has four channels. Doing the math:
    RGB 8 bpc = 24 bpp
    RGBA 8 bpc = 32 bpp
    RGB 16 bpc = 48 bpp
    RGBA 16 bpc = 64 bpp
So if you want 8-bit output with an alpha channel, you'd set the bit depth in AME to 32. If you don't need an alpha channel, set it to 24. Note that AME doesn't have equivalent options for 32 bpc formats. (If it did, the bpp equivalents would be 96 and 128 bpp!) There are very few such codecs anyway.
    2) What effects does "Use Maximum Render Quality" have on a comp? Does it only come into play if your are encoding to a different resolution to the source comp? Will it change the color processing?
IIRC, the "Use Maximum Render Quality" switch doesn't affect AE comps. It only has an effect when the source is a Premiere Pro sequence. This article has some detail about how the switch affects Premiere Pro sequences:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/premiereprotraining/2010/10/scaling-in-premiere-pro-cs5.html
    3) Does AME always render at "Full" resolution or does it look at the resolution setting in the AE comp window? What if it's set to "auto"?
    4) Does AME pay attention to the comp window Region of Interest?
    5) Does AME care about the composition motion blur button or does it just look at the layer motion blur settings?
    7) How does AME handle color management? Does it always output in the working space?
These questions all have the same basic answer. When the AE comp is loaded via Dynamic Link, it will be processed using the state of the comp at the time the AE project was saved. Any switches available in the Timeline panel like Motion Blur will be used in their current state, and there is no control over them from the AME side.
Keep in mind that comp viewer switches like Region Of Interest and preview resolution aren't a function of the comp itself, and thus aren't seen by AME. They are a function of the Comp viewer panel. (The difference being the same as between a piece of artwork and the glass of the frame. If the glass is warped then the art looks warped. AME only looks at the artwork without the glass.) Color Management, similarly, while controlled at the project level is interpreted via the Comp viewer panel or by AE's Render Queue; AE's color management is not in the chain of processing used by AME. But you can acheive the same color management transforms via AME by using the Color Profile Converter effect and setting the input and output profiles specifically.
So, what AME sees in an AE comp will be identical to what you see in the Comp panel in AE at full resolution when ROI and any other viewer switches (like the Transparency Grid or guides or color channel selection) are turned off, and without a project working color space being set. From this point the pixels could be affected by AME via scaling or if there is a color space transform inherent to the chosen output format (ex., RGB to YUV).
    6) How does AME decide whether to interlace the render?
This is defined by the Field Order setting in the AME Output Settings. That seems pretty straightforward to me, so if I'm missing something about your question please clarify.
