Yes ... those are considered "secondary" adjustments, which means their menu comes up under the " + " or "Secondary Layer" adjustment things. Similar to the other things in "secondaries", such as specifying a particular hue/sat/ and-or /luma range to modify. I was aware of that, in fact, probably should have mentioned it (sorry!) but ... the comment about the "pop-up" fazed me a bit there. Yes, you're right, on that link whoever typed it up called them a "popup", but no one past an Adobe staffer might think of them as such ... unless you wanted to call every control Speedgrade has a "pop-up" ...
I would note ... the bit about the luma being like a ganged RGB? Well ... sorta kinda but not really ... a "pure" ganged RGB actually has more effect on colors and less on contrast than this does ... so it's really more a straight Luma correction.
It's a fantastic program, does some utterly amazing things, and the people behind the curtain are really some exceptional folks both for brains & just as people. However ... documentation, manuals, help, & commentaries about this product (and most other Adobe, sadly) ... are rather ... um ... not up to the quality of the programs themselves.
But ... there are those here on the forum, including a couple amazing staffers, and of course some great tutorials out there by Joost van der Hoeven and lynda-dot-com & others.

Good call on on throwing away finder plist It worked on my desktop/screen saver problem...But, it didn't fix the dragging and moving items/folders and paste.
My network is still confused too.
I threw out the desktop plist as well still nothing...
I did run the anti-virus Macscan to check just for peace of mind it did find a spyware from CNN...

They should be right there on the page, but if you don't see them, reset the phone and try again (hold down the home and power buttons until the screen goes black and the Apple logo appears, then let go).

URGENT: Not seeing the variable Pop-up for Button , on web template in WAD

Hi gurus,
In IP I have a standard plan function for 'Copy', which has a few variables defined on the funciton itself (as to be changed):

All of the above variable are created with the following parameters:
Variable input: Optional (have also tried madantory)
Ready for input: is flagged.
Variable represents: Single value.
No default entry.
No personalized data.
Now in WAD, I create a button group for this function by selecting the Command, 'Executing Planning Function (simple)', manually entering my plan function technical name next to 'Command specific parameters', and selecting the dataprovider created for the filter I created in IP, and finally flagging the 'Display variable' button.
The problem is, on the web template the variable screen does not appear when I click on the function button. It executes the function in the background without giving me the pop-up for variable selection. And obviously since the variables have no default values, nothing is processesed.
I've tried this with planning sequence instead, and still wont give me the variable pop-up screen..
I've actually explicitlet entered the variables on the 'Parameters for Command screen', the same screen where you enter the filter for databinding and well as the function.
It still wont work (no variable pop-up screen).
Is this issue related to the support pack. We're on SP12 right now?
If not, do any of you gurus have any ideas? Big points will be rewarded for this.

In the parameterization of the command, there is an option 'show variable screen'. I am not sure if you have mentioned this clearly, but have you checked this option?

Where is the iPad 2 hyphen for my Apple ID?

My Apple ID is my email address. I have to log in to the iTunes & App Stores in the iPad System Prefs. I have been logged in since last April...

...due to a little error, I have to log in again. And my Apple ID / email address contains a hyphen in it. Where is the hyphen on the keyboard?
This only seems to apply to the keyboard that pops up for the iPad 2 iTunes & App Stores System Prefs. If you have the iPad 2, go look in the System Prefs. See what I mean. Help.

With the "Apple ID" field keyboard, it looks like the hyphen is moved from below the "1" (like on the "normal" keyboard). I see it two keys to the right of the space bar on the letter (alpha) keyboard. The bottom row becomes

I was going to say, a work around is to type your Apple ID into Notes, select and copy it from there and paste it into the Apple ID field. But then, the work around is not needed here.

Just got new imovie08--where are the effects??? YIKES help

Ok. There are some neat aspects of the new 08, with the compact boxes and skimming...BUT...Where did the video effects go? slow/reverse,earthquake,etc...
Also, is there even a feature that has a sound timeline where in the old one we used volume levels and were able to adjust them in a graph kinda thingie in the timeline. Now I need precise volume control and can't distinguish between multiple volume/sound lines.
I appreciate apple trying to better the software--but those key things that one would use in a editing software--should be there (even if it's for non-pros) I have FCE too.

They're still in iMovie '06. If you want to use them, use iMovie '06.

The wave form, volume rubber band, and new equalizer rubber bands are in GarageBand which allows much more precise sound mixing and adjustments than in iMovie.

This version is more and attempt to advance the techneiques of import, editing by reference, and exporting than an upgrade in features. Use iMovie '06 for traditional editing and iMovie '08 to see what may be in store for you over the next decade.
