Screen refresh problem where data is entered and the screen doesn't refresh

Many people in the company are experiencing the odd screen refresh problem where data is entered and the screen doesn't refresh to show the updated result in corresponding cell formulas.
Microsoft have issued a hotfix to fix the issue for Excel 2003 as shown. Microsoft released a hotfix for this problem (<a href="advisory?ID=978908">KB978908</a>). Display memory tends to pick up data from hidden sheets and pastes it
into the active screen. No impact on the file. This occurs when protecting and unprotecting worksheets in VBA. I also suspect that enabling and disabling screen refresh contributes to this problem. In any case there is a fix, albeit with the following disclaimer:

Based on your description, Excel does not show the text strings when you typing. It may be caused by the cell format, if we set the cell format as ";;;" in custom format, it will not display the text that you typed.
And the issue may be caused by the third-party input method, there are some compatibility issue between them.
If the issue still exits, please try the following methods
Verify/install the latest updates
Repair your Office program

Unexpected behaviour upon pressing the 'Enter' key on dialog screen

Hi.
I have two dialog screens that exhibit unexpected behaviour when i pressed the 'Enter' key.
Screen 1: When I pressed the 'Enter' key, the focus shifted to another input field and the content of the previous input field is cleared. The thing is, I did not have any codes in PAI for 'Enter'. Why is this happening?
Screen 2: On load, some of the fields on this screen will be disabled. However, when I pressed the 'Enter' key, all the disabled fields become enabled. Again, I did not have any codes that handle the 'Enter' key in PAI. Why is this happening?
Any help is appreciated.

Yes, I have used CHAIN... END CHAIN.
I thought that CHAIN... END CHAIN allows my input fields to be re-activated after an error message is displayed.
How would CHAIN... END CHAIN cause the unexpected behaviour?

How to go around the enter key

Hi all,
I have the data show on the grid. I modified it and didn't press the enter key, the commit
(save) icon in the navigator bar doesn't high light.
Is there a way to go around that? Make it high light whenever the data change.

expanding on that same logic, I removed both pauses and now it does run without having to press enter at the beginning or the end. I haven't added the /Y yet, but I don't get a message about overwriting the existing file. For this sample,

Hitting the "Enter" Key

Hi,
I have a bsp page with few text fields and a submit button. When i use the mouse to click on the submit button its ok but when i use the enter key the page will just refresh and all data that is entered will disappear. I tried using onFocus and still its not working. But when i use the same onfocus statement in normal HTML page the onfocus works but when i have that exact code in BSP it wont work.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
i tried the search but most of them are HTMLB and i am just using simple HTML and java script combination to attain what is needed

what i would like to happen is after entering the employee number and the user hits the enter key it will submit the form as if the "Submit" button was clicked.

HOW to simulate the enter key???

Hi , I have a jTable ,and i want that by leaving a specific
cell ,to perform the same action that the enter key does!

p.s. My initial problem was that when i left my specific
cell (the cell is editable combo box), an edited words
which were written by me vanished , and when i get back to that cell the edited word showed again!!!
when i pressed the enter key the edited word were stable in the cell!!!
when I chose a word from the combo evrything was ok!!

How can I display the texts that the user just typed in?

Hello all, I am using Captivate 5.5 and I am trying to realize this function:
Have a text entry box for the user to type in their answers (can be a paragph and up to 400 words etc.), then the user clicks on the submit button and they will be able to read what they just typed in on the left of the screen, and the sample answer given by the course.
In order to realize this, I placed one text entry box and make the value associate to a customized variable of "log_1". Then I have two text captions:
one named "log_1_answer" and inside of it I put $$log_1; the other one named "log_1_sample". Both text captions are set to invisible at the enter of the slide. Then I have the advanced action for the submit button of the text entry box as "show log_1_answer; show log_1_sample; hide text_entry_log1"
When I previewed it, I got all logistics work. However, the texts that were shown in the text caption of log_1_answer only were only 15 letters.
I wonder whether there is a restriction for the length of variables in Captivate that we can display? If so, is there other possible ways that I can realize what I want to do?

When you insert the user variable, watch the length in the dialog box. Default is indeed 15 characters, you'll have to change that as I did in this example. Too bad, you cannot change it after inserting the variable.

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Swiftkey keyboard, where is the "Enter" key???

Simple question...added Swiftkey keyboard in iOS 8 to my iPad, and it gave me a "send" key where there should be an "enter" key. How in the world do I get the "enter" key on my keyboard instead of the "send" key? I can't find that setting anywhere. The keyboard that they show when you pick a theme has an "enter" key, but mine has a "send" key. Useless.
This is driving me crazy, any hits for the hintless?

When I have an Enter/Return key there, I can just press it and the browser starts my desired search immediately. In fact, I'd rather have it be an "Enter/Return" key all the time, that has always worked for me in all contexts. Where is the ENTER Button on the P1606dn when I am trying to manually feed envelopes?

I had trouble trying to print envelopes using Microsoft Word running under Windows 7, I got an HP message saying to load the paper (envelope) then hit the ENTER button.
Hitting the enter button on my keyboard did not get the intended results. Looking at all documentation on the P1606dn printer did not find a button labeled as an ENTER button there.
I finally discovered the proper button is the "GO" button depicted by a sheet of paper with a folded-down upper right-hand corner and an arrow pointing downward on the top of the printer.
It would be nice is HP were to change the drivers to where the message would be consistent with the documentation of the printer.

You are right. the intention is to educate customer to hit the "GO" button.

Please fix this problem. "Enter" on our Keyboards means to go to the next line of type. You have enter as a termintor and a normal typist has to try a few times to get used to your site.

I have a Dell Inspiron with Win-7. I had FF on it but too many conflicts developed so I deleted FF.
Only I miss FF a LOT! And I want to use it again.
Can you help me out? Will FF run on Win-7?

Your title line is certainly not a true statement. It is certainly also used for "Enter", it depends on what you are doing. It also is used for entering the highlighted choice in a dialog window and is part of the reason why my middle mouse button is set to "Enter". Old keyboards used to have two separate keys, one for new line, and one for Enter.
Perhaps if you explained where it is giving you a problem we could provide a more reasoned answer -- may not be what want, but there is probably logic behind what you get.
Of course Firefox can run on Windows 7, it would not be popular if it couldn't.

If you enable the numeric keypad on the U150 keyboard, which key is the Enter key? I need this for InDesign and other applications, where the Numeric Keypad Enter key has special meaning.

How can I remove the "enter" key from the keyboard? (New Macbook)

I have the last white macbook, I spilled beer in a couple of keys, I managed to removed them without problems, but I can't find the way to remove the Enter Key, and there is no help on internet Anyone?

What characters are you talking about exactly and why would you want to remove any?
There is really no way to modify Apple's keyboards or add your own in iOS, but there are some apps that may provide a work around.

My IMac has stopped seeing the keyboard. I have changed the batteries and the green light comes on saying it is looking to pair with the IMac but without success. I am left with the IMac switched on and I am unable to enter a password.

I have been using my IMac without a problem when I left it and went back to enter the password the IMac did not see the keyboard. I have changed the batteries and the green light comes up on the keyboard and then starts to flash indicating it is looking for the IMac but nothing happens. I have tried another set of new batteries with the same result. Is there any known problems in this area. The IMac is 5 months old.
