Where is the folders panel in the develope module

I just updated Lightroom to version 3.4 and now I can not find the folders panel in the Develop module. It's in the Library module but not in the Develop module. There is not even a right click option for a folders panel under the Develop module.
What happened???

Folders can be part of the develop module panel:

  • How do I restore folders into the folders panel

I am new to LR and I am using LR3. I appear to be digging a massive hole for myself trying to sort out the catalog.
When I first got LR, I had initially added just a small number of files just to see how LR worked. At this time I was still completing sorting out my full photo collection in 'my pictures' which were also copied to two external hard drives. Once that work was completed, I imported a complete folder (some 4000 images) into LR. The folder/subfolders appeared in the folders panel but the sub folders I had initially imported were displayed with a ? and a message 'file is missing or offline' Going down the road of 'find missing folder' eventually led to my problems.
About 6 sub folders are involved so I eventually took the decision that it could be easier just to remove them so I could then re-import them from 'my pictures'. That hasn't worked out as planned.
When I go into 'file' to import photos from 'my pictures' the missing sub folders are there but the images are 'greyed' as well as the import button. When I put the cursor onto one of the greyed-out images the message 'appears to be a duplicate of another photo already in catalog' appears.
Can anyone advise me how I can restore the 'missing' sub folders into the folders panel.
    Thanks
    Howard

If you've really removed them, then they shouldn't be showing up as duplicates.
If you have a mess and haven't done any real work inside Lightroom, I'd suggest starting a new catalog and importing fresh.

How do I the show parameter dialog in either WPF or Winforms viewer of Visual Studio 2010.
Parameters are not even visible in the Parameters Side panel. It is empty too..
I see two classes ParameterPrompting and ParameterPrompt both, on initialization throws exception.. even to manually invoke them...
    Is it permanently removed?

  • To rename a page or folder In either the Folder List panel or the Folders view of the site, right-click the file or folder, and then click Rename. Type the new name.

I set out to change the page name ready to publish on my hosts server after Having used a temp. name, simple so the " Expression web user guide says" I have not been able to find the "Folder List panel" of The folders view of the site,
I have just completed an hour methodically searching for the two files listed, I would be most grateful for some simple instructions on how to find the entities listed in the Title above, which I cut and pasted to make sure that I got it right.

If you are in the standard configuration, click "Site|Open Site," then browse to and open your site. With an open site, you will see a tab at the top labeled "Site View." Another tab at the bottom will be labeled "Folders,"
because you are then in Folders view of the site (recognize that terminology?). At the same time, unless you have your panels hidden, in the upper left side you will see a panel labeled "Folders List." If you do not see this panel, click "Panels|Reset
    Current Workspace."

I think we have all be caught out with the disappearing panels

  • Can add the "keywording" panel in the Develop tab?

Can add the "keywording" panel in the Develop tab?
In my workflow, I rate or tag a photo only after I've made some PP adjustment. So, my workflow would flow better if the "keywording" tab resided in the Development tab as well. Is this possible? Can you add a panel from another tab?

Not just keywords. Well.. I try to salvage borderline photos first through development, and add keywords if they come out right. If not, I reject the photos without adding any keywords.
    dj_paige wrote:
As CatOne2 said, you can't do this.
The Lightroom paradigm, for better or worse, is that you add keywords in the Library module.
I cannot imagine why you would need to first post-process a photo before you know what keywords to add. Can you explain why you feel this is necessary?

  • Where is the Components Panel and the Design Mode button in FlashBuilder 4.7 Premium?

I'm new to FlashBuilder. I've been using many years just Flash  and now I'm switching to FlashBuilder. I've seen some tutorials, but the Interface in my copy of the program do not match the one in the tutorials. I could't find the componets Panel and the Design Mode button. Any ideea why?
My Laptop runs on Windows 7.  FlashBuilder 4.7 Premium is via Creative Cloud:
    SnapShot from Tutorials I've seen
    SnapShot From my application
with yelow i've marked the place with the "Components View" and the "Design" mode button
whith that red line I've marked the place where the "Design" mode button is expected
    I've notice the following menu:
Whe you click on Views: Window->Show Views->Other...  an interactive dialog appears with the tree of views available. Above there is a textField where you can enter a filter. As you type the text, the tree updates accordingly, after each letter.
I've searched for the Components panel ... surprise!!!
    nothing on filter
    filtering for Outline View
    filtering for Component View
    the tree complete
the tree finds the Outline View
    the tree is already empty
As you notice the list of views is empty even before I finish the spelling of the word "Component".
Is there something I should configure, or this feature is not available in this particular distribution ?

I found the answer myself. Looks like this new version does not support these features anymore: http://www.adobe.com/ro/products/flash-builder/buying-guide.html.
    Strange...
The question rising here is what happens with this feature?
Will be available with a future update?
Will no longer be availalble in FlashBuilder, but in another Adobe Project?
    Will never be available?
I belive this features are not important  for advanced users... but  I'm just learning this. I'm used to work in Flash. I write ActionScript, but I'm not familliar with the objects availlable in Flex, so the Component Panel and Design Mode is quite handy on this stage.
Plus, there is a real concern about the future of this technology, now beeing available HTML5. So, there is a question of oportunity  investing time in learning things no longer supported. The most frustrating thing is not having an answer to this question. Even a "No" is better than "We don't know yet" <- the answer I received from online support.

  • Subfolders disappear in the Folders panel

Periodically after working in LR5 for a while the subfolders in the Folders panel disappear. The main parent folder (my external drive) is shown with the picture count but all the subfolders are gone. When I right click on a photo and "Go to photo in Library" nothing happens - no subfolder is displayed. I have tried clicking various things in the Left Panel but nothing helps. If I Exit and then re-open LR all the subfolders are correctly displayed again. Any ideas why the subfolders disappear?

    More details, example :
I delete the pics in "2010-06-13 - Carolina" (the folder which don't show up in LR3). I import again my pics. They are now here : 2010 > 2010-06 > 2010-06-13.
    Then I close LR3. I open again LR3. The folder "2010 > 2010-06 > 2010-06-13" isn't here anymore. But the pics are still here (I can see them when browsing "2010 > 2010-06") !
Then again, I delete the pics. Import them again. But instead of closing LR3 now, I move the pics to "2010 > 2010-06 > Caro".
I close LR3. I open again LR3. Same as usual, "Caro" disappeared (but pics are here) !
Would someone help me please ?

  • How do I safely get the side panels of the printer off

How do I safely get the side panels off the printer. I am attempting a repair and do not want to break them

The thin strip is called the encoder strip.  It has very fine lines that are used to keep track of where the carriage is as it moves across the paper.  You should not need to remove the sides to replace this, but it can be a bit tricky.  The post here may help.  Be sure the encoder strip is properly threaded through the sensor at the back of the carriage.

  • How to keep the Book panel in the same location after saving the book

I almost always have the Book panel open. I like to dock all the panels, including the Book panel, at the right edge of the workspace. But whenever I save a book file, the Book panel reappears in the middle of my screen. I then have to drag it back over to the right edge of the workspace, where I want it to be. Is there any way to keep the Book panel where I put it (whether docked, or floating)?

This is simply a "ditto" to the problem; it's a major irritation not to be able to save this as part of the workspace--but to have to drag the book panel to the side every single time. Frustrating.

To a lesser extent, the same problems exists on all panels, whether they be in import window or elsewhere. Just look at the Folder panel in Library to see how much space is wasted in offsetting the subfolders. When this was pointed out to the relevant folk the reply came back that it was by design. Bad design, but we're pi...g into a head wind trying to get it changed.
