Where is the free realplayer?

I've used RealPlayer for years running OS 9 & Panther. Recently I downloaded RealPlayer running Tiger and it worked for about 3 weeks. It suddenly stopped working.
I searched for the free RealPlayer and downloaded same. In reading thru the agreement all it mentions is that after a short time they charge you each month.
Have they changed from being free basic?
On Version Tracker they mention a free basic and pro version, but there is only one download button and no choices after the download.
How do I make sure I get the free basic version and not the trial version which begins charging after a short use.
Please advise.

I think we're working on the wrong problem!
I'd do this very first thing...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

  • Where is the free Mavericks download in the store

I looked for the free upgrade, but ot is no longer on the Itunes apps store.
Where can I get a free download of the DMG file?
I am not yet interested in Yosemite.
    Thank you.
    Regards, F.

It's gone, unless Apple says otherwise, which they probably won't.

  • Where did the free song of the week option go?

The free song option went away with the new year. Has it moved or is it gone?

Probably gone, although Apple doesn't tend to explain to anyone what they're doing at any given moment, so who knows.

  • Where has the free/busy option gone in Mavericks' Calendar?

I can't find this option anywhere in the Mac Mavericks Calendar info/edit pane of an event.
My calendar is synced from Mac Calendar to iPhone 4S with today's IOS 7.0.3 update.
The iPhone entries no longer show free or busy like they did before but they do still have the option available in the edit pane.
I'm hoping I'm just being a bit thick!
Revised: it's showing as there in the new Mavericks Blurb!

Thanks for the feedback, Bryan and Laurent.
Bearing in mind that I'm using a straightforward Mac to iPhone sync it's curious that it seems to show for the third-party set-ups and not the 100% Apple-shaped ones!
I've just run a little experiment:
    1) opened a Mac Calendar event with a known 'show as: Busy' in TextEdit. The TRANSP field was correctly showing as OPAQUE.
    2) refreshed iPhone Calendar and then changed the event to 'show as: Free'.
    3) refreshed Mac Calendar and opened the event in TextEdit. The TRANSP field had correctly updated to TRANSPARENT.
This confirms to me that the information is there and properly recorded but, for whatever reason, the field is simply not showing in Calendar under Mac OS X 10.9 for me at this time.
Mavericks has a few annoyances that are nudging me to consider a move back to Mountain Lion.
I had already left feedback for Apple but I will also now file a bug report on the Developer's pages.

  • Where's the Free Space?

So, I've been slightly concerned about my lack of space and downloaded "WheresTheFeeSpace" to get an overview of my machine:
    Library: 9.44G (12%)
    Applications: 9.37G (12%)
    Users: 7.23G (9%)
    System: 3.19G (4%)
    Private: 2.47G (3%)
    USR: 914.86M (1%)
    Bin: 9.00M (0%)
    Sbin: 5.41M (0%)
The rest listed was nominal and 0% but here's the rub -- this program says I am only using 44% of the machine yet I only have 13.72GB left available!
A little over 50% of my machine can't be accessed and I'm clueless where to look for more space!

See what happens if you do this:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now shutdown the computer for a couple of minutes and then restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger, and 4.1 for Leopard) and/or TechTool Pro (4.6.1 for Leopard) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Then select your hard drive and press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. See what space information is being reported.

  • Where is the free help

Anyone can help me? I just updated my ipad mini to ios 8.1.1. Now i have problems with wifi, the ipad stucks and is very slow! Why isn't apple give us a free helpservice? Or does it excist?

Apple provides help if the iPad is still under the 90 day free phone support or if you have AppleCare+ which gives you two total years of free support. You can make an appointment at an Apple Store for which there is no charge or you can get online/email help for which there is no charge.
Try these suggestions and see if any of them help your situation.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data
Now close all apps. In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If those three things made no difference, try this. Reset all settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.
If all of that fails, restore the iOS software. Backup your iPad before you restore, then restore the backup when you are done. If that still doesn't help, restore your iPad as new and start all over again. Most purchased content can be downloaded again at no charge as long as you use the same Apple ID and as long as the content is still available in the store.

  • (UPDATE) Where is the free demo/trial version for Tearaway Unfolded?

UPDATE: furryhawk has said we'll get the demo version of Tearaway Unfolded available on the PS Store a few days before launch. Thank you to furryhawk for pointing it out.  When I saw the Tearaway Unfolded trailers and gameplay videos, I was overjoyed and couldn't wait for the game to come out, even the pre-order for the game is available on the PS Store, every Tearaway fan pre-ordered it because they can't wait for the game and that's great! But my question is... when are we gonna get a free demo/trial version on the PS Store before the full game itself comes out? Can you please answer this question? Because I don't know when it'll come out.

Okay, thanks. I'll put an update about it on the thread. Again, thanks for saying that we'll get the demo a few days before launch. I appreciate it!

  • HT4098 I have paid for an iPad magazine subscription, but I can not see all the pages of the magazine.  All I am getting is the free preview.  The magazine company said to contact Itunes, where I don't see a solution.

I have paid for an iPad magazine subscription, but I can not see all the pages of the first issue I just got.  All I'm getting is the free preview.  I contacted the magazine publisher, IPC, who said to contact Itunes, where I do not see an answer.

You can contact iTunes Store Support here.
    https://getsupport.apple.com/Issues.action
Click on Purchases, billing and redemption to get started. Are you sure that you actually downloaded the magazine? I have a subscription to one magazine and I choose to download the magazines on my own rather than automatically.

  • After the free download of Firefox 4.0 why does it not show or tell me how, when, or where it will be installed?

OK then. I click on the "Free Upgrade to Firefox 4.0" to get
the download started. The Windows XP download dialog box opens and the upgrade downloads. Then the "Save file" dialog box opens. That states....."You have chosen to open or run this file. exe. ect. blah blah blah".
I click on "Save File". The dialog box disappears.
Then nothing about how to install, when it will install itself, or anything about installation.
I have my downloads set up to appear on my desktop (as an icon) when they are complete. Nothing appeared and nothing happened. What's the deal?
    Thank you very much....................i40.

If you don't usually get a choice of where to save a downloaded file, you can change that using:
Edit > Preferences > General > "Always ask me where to save files"
Then you may want to go directly to the source:
    http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/
You should get the options to Save File or Cancel (not Open). Hopefully after saving you will be able to find the downloaded file in the location you specified.
One other note, before upgrading, you may want to back up your Firefox settings just in case. [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information].
