Where is the fully qualified portal url is maintained in the Visual Admin

Hi ,
Please let me know  *Where is the fully qualified portal url is maintained in the Visual Administration  during portal installation in a simple Java stack
.*Rgrds,
Saket

The portal is using the server name you use to access the portal. So when you user http://server:5NN00, the portal will use only server for the links (or server.domain or IP or ...). There are however some portal services that need a server name configured (lke KM).
When the portal is connecting to another server your DNS should be set up correctly to resolve the IP to the FQDN.

  • Not fully qualified BEx URLs

    Hi,
how can I use a portal wich is not in a domain? The BI Postinstallation will have a domain but we didn't have one for this server. I can not execute without give a domain. When I set a domain name which is not right, the Postinstallation is execute right. But if I then execute a template from BEx, the browser is empty. Thats right I think. If I then manually correct the url in the browser the error occurs which is descriped in Note 1126545: Not fully qualified BEx URL.
What can I do, to fix this problem?
    Thanks,
    Peter

The more i read the more i think CPPO is the right tool to use to move your EP to the domain via a portal copy.
If you can't do any changes to the portal you'll find difficult to work around a lot of things that require FQDN.
    That's my 2 cents.
    regards
    Juan
PS: the note was to give you a hint about changing the host name to include the domain. (It might not do the trick though)

  • Where can i set the location of the LogonTicket cookies in the visual admin

    hello:
where can i set the location of the LogonTicket cookies in the visual administrator?
    thanks!!

    Hi,
When the SAP LOGON ticket Expired or if we need to update the dates, it is generally done at the Visual Administration Level. SAP Logon Ticket is represented as cookie in the Browser which will help us for SSO.
In Visual Admin under keystore admin where our Old Portal certificate exists.
We will need to delete the old portal certificate, then we need to generate new ceritificate and a pop box will appear.. where we need to provide our System details like SID, Client. After these details are given we can get a new certificate in which validity period dates are automatically generated. And also we can import teh same into Portal at Sys Admin->sys config->key store admin for it to be available as .PSE or .DER file for SSO.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/59bba290-0201-0010-468b-cd12efda573a
check the above for EP security guide which might help you in the same.

  • Where is the Visual Composer CE 7.2

    Dear team,
I downloaded the trial CE 7.2. It was installed successfully, Also SAP NWDS 7.1 was installed.
Now I need to design my business processes, but I can not find the Visual Composer.
    What should I do?
    My environment:
      Windows Server 2003 SP2
    regards,

    Hi Carlos,
If you have installed CE7.2 then install NWDS 7.2 instead of NWDS 7.1. You'l get many features.
Also, in CE the VC is ingrated and a browser based application.
As Fabian said, you can access it by using the following url:
    http://<your server host name>:<port>/VC/freestyle.jsp
Also, when you download the NWDS, you just get the kernel for the studio. You have to run the studio and then run the updates to install the features you want.

  • Rights & authorizations on the Visual admin tool SP13

if some one can tell me if rights and authorizations can be managed around the Visual administrator tool in order to manage accesses and users use and this tool.
    Thanks in advance,
    Eric.

    Hi Daniel,
yes agree with you and thank; but what i want to know is if i can assign other "group" (rights and / or authorizations) to some users in order to avoid access to this tool to users except in visualisation that means without possibility of modify items.
    Eric.

  • Where is the database object administration GUI in Oracle XE 11g?

Please read my whole question, because I'm sure people will misunderstand, and tell me to load http://localhost:8080/apex in my browser.  I know that is there.
I am a previous user of Oracle XE 10g, but I just installed Oracle Express 11g. I only want to use it to get a local instance of Oracle database. The 10g APEX UI provided an easy way to administer database objects (users, schemas, and the like), but it appears the 11g APEX UI is some kind of weird application development environment that I don't want to use. It doesn't even seem aware of the schemas I created in the database using SQL Plus.
So, where is the regular admin GUI for Oracle database objects like users/schemas (i.e. something that will list the schemas that exist in the database, and allow me to add or delete them)? Or does 11g force you to do that using SQL (in which case, I'm going to go back to 10g).
    Thanks,
    Jeff

No, SQL workshop is not what I want.
Basically, I don't want to deal with this concept of a "workspace" at all. It's useless to me and just gets in my way. All I want is a a UI where I can view a list of the schemas that exist in the database, and manipulate them easily.
I have TOAD, so I could use that, but I liked the old 10g administration GUI, since it provided the exact functionality at the exact level of complexity that I needed.

  • Java Monitoring - Displaying MBeans in the Visual Administrator

  • Display Size of the Visual Admininstrator

I have an interesting problem - the display size of the Visual Administrator in one of my Netweaver systems has opened very small - I cannot stretch it any bigger. In all the rest of my systems the Visual Admininstrator opens full screen (we are AIX-UNIX).
I think I can probably solve the problem by rebooting the server but I would like to know if there is any way to control the size of the Visual Admininstrator? Is there a configuration file or something similar?
    Thanks
    Patrick

    Hello Patrick ,
I have no idea how to resize the visual admin.
But the easiest thing to do is to install the visiual admin locally on a windows desktop.
Be shure you have installed jre 1.4.2 on your windows desktop.
    Then copy the complete /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGSXX/j2ee/admin
    directory to your windows desktop.
Just doubleclick on the go.bat and the visual admin starts.
Create the desired connections and youre finished.
    Have fun,

  • Unable to open the Virus Scan Provider in Visual Admin

    Hello, dear experts!
    [SAP WebAS 6.40 SP13 Windows]
We have downloaded and installed the latest Anti-Vir dll as a virus scan provider (they are officially certified provider).
After I tried to activate it gave me error message that the version of anti-virus software is incorrect.
I restarted the SAP WebAS and since then I can't even get to open the Virus Scan Provider service in Visual Admin anymore.
The Visual Admin complains on the status line:
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.sap.security.core.server.vsi.gui.VSIRuntimeControl.
So I can't even change it back now.
    Please help!

The problem went away once I rebooted the machine.

  • Modifying Portal URL to use Fully Qualified Domain Name

    Hi,
We have a portal that I can access now by using the URL 'invsrvr001:50000/irj/portal'. We would need the URL to use the fully qualified domain name such as 'invsrvr001.company.com:50000/irj/portal'. Towards that end we added the profile paramter 'icm/host_name_full' with parameter value 'invsrvr001.company.com' and restarted the server. After the we tried to login to the portal using 'invsrvr001.company.com:50000/irj/portal' but the system displayed 'The page cannot be displayed' error.
What else needs to be done so as to use the fully quailified domain name?
Do I name to change the computer name from 'INVSRVR001' to 'INVSRVR001.COMPANY.COM'?
    Regards
    ND

Ok, if you want to use FQDN including your domain extention (host.domain.com) you need to include your host into the domain.
Also your PDC should be doing the time of DNS server so check that.
This should solve your issue, please close the thread.

  • BI 7 Portal - BEx Web Analyzer- URL used is not fully qualified.

    Hi folks,
I have a problem while accessing BEx Web Analyzer on BI 7 Portal. When I select "Business Intelligence"  ->  "BEx Web Analyzer". This is ending up with a 500 Internal Server Error
    Error Description
    com.sap.ip.bi.base.exception.BIBaseRuntimeException: URL +used, "http://sdndevsap01:51200", is not fully qualified. +
A fully-qualified URL has a schema with the format "<protocol>://server.company.com:<port>". URLs with the format "<protocol>://server:<port>" or "<protocol>://<ip address>:<port>" are not fully qualified. See SAP Notes 581329, 596698 and 654326

    at com.sap.ip.bi.webapplications.runtime.controller.impl.Controller.processRequest(Controller.java:864)
    Pls Note:
-The parameter "icm/host_name_full" is already set with full hostname with domain. (Hostname.domain)
-I have also checked the SAP notes mentioned in the error and did not find any answer from them.
As per my understanding there should be a parameter which holds the portal link in JAVA Engine.(http://hostname.domain:50000/)
Pls help me in finding answer to this.
    Thanks
    James.

ur questions 1 and 2 should be directed to portal administrator at ur firm..
as u r trying to change the lay out when user presses New analysis.
again in 2 u want to default the saving to favourites folders.
    3. if u save a view and later u try to open or run another query ..
for e.g. in ur saved view of query1 the time period is 1/07-12/07
now u r running some query x which has time 1/08-4/08
and now if u try to open ur view of query-1 then it will take the time period of 1.08---4.08
but if u open bookmark it will bring it to u the xact screen and xact time variables with which u save query1

  • Fully qualified name of the portal service application

    Hi,
I want to Access portal Services from Web dynpro, for Which we have to provide Sharing reference,
    this would be
PORTAL:<Vendor name>/<Fully qualified name of the portal service application>
my question is how to find out "Fully qualified name of the portal service application"
    regards,
    Venki.

    Venki,
    Please refer this thread.
Re: Changes are not getting reflected in theme
We cannot access the portal service in the browser as the service wont produce any http request. Instead you can access & utilize  the service in the the portal component such as JSP Dunpage etc.  which will produce the http request and display the result or o/p  on the broswer.
