Where is the h264 encode for streaming in iOS?

Is this still a feature we can look forward to?

Thanks for your suggestion, but for some reason this didn't work. The only way I could get it to refresh my entries (I added about 10 entries a couple hours ago on my computer via Yahoo Calendar) was to go into one of the days on the iPhone calendar, add the entry that was missing, at which point right before my very eyes, the one I entered a couple hours ago just popped in there (so that I then had two duplicate entries, the one I just added and the one I added previously on my computer).  Then, this forced a refresh of all the other dates that I had added previously, so now I'm set.  All the events are in there.  Very strange.  This is exactly what happened a couple weeks ago.  For now, I will just have to add an entry from my phone (to be deleted after the other one pops in there) to get it to refresh future entries.  Kind of annoying, but it will have to do until I can find out how to fix it.  Thanks for your quick reply tho'!

  • Where is the default location for the OC4J logs?

Where is the default location for the OC4J logs?

Depends on what variant of the product you are using.
In an Oracle Applicaiton Server environment (ie the one you install versus unzip) the stdout/stderr streams from OC4J are captured in the $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/logs/<group-instance> directory.
If you are using standalone then stdout goes to the console where you started the process.
The logs for the OC4J instance itself are located in $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/home/log/<instance_group> directory. In this directory you'll see different logs for differet areas of the server. Most of the logs however are captured in the oc4j sub-directory in the log.xml file. Whenever you enable an OC4J component logger in the j2ee-logging.xml file or via ASControl, this is where the logs will end up.
Take a look at the $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/home/config/j2ee-logging.xml file -- the log handlers will give you some idea on the different log files that are in use.
You can configure your application loggers to also direct their log into this file if you wish. See http://buttso.blogspot.com/2007/09/directing-log-messages-into-oc4j.html for an example.

Well, I have this printer too, and I get the following response from the System Prefs Printers and Scanners when I select to add this printer:

When you go to the Epson website for this particular printer it says:
"The latest drivers for this product are available only via Apple's Software Update."
And finally, when you go to Software Update it says: "No updates available"
    I second OMT8.
Yes, the driver file at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1398 allowed me to finally install my printer, but does Apple have _any idea_ how long it takes to download a 1.08GB file over a 1.5mbps DSL connection?
Never mind how much of my pricey new SSD is being consumed by the resulting 1.80GB of driver files all for _one_ printer driver that should maybe occupy 200K?
Or that the primary article on OS X printer drivers (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669) -- which does indicate that the Artisan 830 is supported -- does not mention or link to the driver file that's needed to make it work?
Or what a complete violation of Apple's "it just works" gestalt it is to be confronted with the above Catch-22 and to have to search the web and then go through all of the above to make a new laptop talk to a two-year-old printer?
Yes, my printer now works, and yes, Apple's Support Communities were instrumental in getting to this point. But spending all morning (plus download time) getting a printer driver installed tastes way too much like I paid for Apple and got Microsquish.

where are the updates located for Mac App Store app? I don't think /Library/Updates is the only location. Because I'm now having 10+ of Apps reporting updates is needed, but only 1MB+ files is located in /Library/Updates.

  • Where is the official documentation for Wireless OTA Enterprise App Distribution?

Where is the official documentation for Wireless OTA Enterprise App Distribution? It used to be here:
    http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#featuredarticles/FA_Wireless_Enterprise_ App_Distribution/Introduction/Introduction.html
The above link is present in many posts in these forums (cf. More Like This below this question.
The information I seek may also have been here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=answerlink&url=http://manuals.info.apple. com/en_US/Enterprise_Deployment_Guide.pd…
The article in question had official details on
    the itms-services:// link,
the app manifest file format and
    the general information.
Currently I cannot find anything official on enterprise app distribution - only third party information. Has something changed, or is this a documentation glitch? Surely wireless OTA enterprise app distribution is still available via the enterprise developer program?
Note: We currently use this for one of our enterprise clients. But before recommending other clients to join the enterprise developer program, we would like an official citation on whether this mechanism still exists.

OK, the link in my question is no longer a 404. It's been replaced by a redirect to a new iOS Enterprise Deployment subsite which has been remade for iOS 8.
    http://www.apple.com/iphone/business/it/deployment.html
My actual question about the technical reference is now located in the iOS Deployment Reference section of Apple Help:

I often wish when I select a word to right click and choose dictionary to to find out the meaning of the word. Currently I have to copy, go to a dictionary web page, paste and search. And I spent a lot of time for that. I'm not that technically oriented to suggest how this can be achieved but just as an idea, may be Mozilla can partner with dictionary web sites by making a plug ins or include a dictionary with Firefox itself

I am sure there are Extensions that do this.

  • Where's the FREAKING manual for the DigitalLife Security System?

Where is the printed documentation for the AT&T DigitalLife Security System?  The so-called on-line system is PATHETIC and UNUSABLE, as it is impossible to(a) get it to run at all and (b) has light gray TINY printing on a white screen, making it UTTERLY impossible for senior citizens like myself to read (when we can get it to appear at all). After all the time and money I've spent on this system, I WANT SOME DOCUMENTATION!

  • Why did TB set the char encoding for a reply to charset=UTF-16LE ?

I got a message from Google AdWords in HTML format and wrote a reply. When I sent it I got a timeout trying to send it. I use AVG antivirus to scan outgoing messages using a "local server" at address 127.0.0.1.
Note that this was my second reply to such a message from AdWords. The only thing I could see that was different was a longer subject line (ending with three periods or dots) and a longer HTML message to which I was replying.
I tried many things to fix the problem and I cannot remember them, sorry.
Finally, I got success after truncating the message and the long subject line. The reply was sent instantly, as usual, instead of timing out.
But it wasn't really success. When I looked at the sent message, the characters in my reply (only) were in Chinese. Looking at the raw (source) message, I see that the charset was set as follows: Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-16LE; format=flowed .
This seems like a strange charset; nowhere in my settings do I specify anything other than Western (ISO-8859-1).
I finally was able to send the message successfully (I think) by using Options > Character Encoding > Western (ISO-8859-1), which seems to force the message to be sent using this standard encoding instead of Little Endian.
What caused this problem to happen? Is there a TB overflow bug for long subject lines?
I realize that TB is an old and unsupported product, but it seems to be the only good email client to use with Windows 8, so I'm just hoping someone knows something about this.

I'm getting mad... The file (on the disk) is still not encoded in UTF-8
    but ANSI.

    Hi Dnstreet
It's usually on the front of the little booklet that comes with it. There will be a couple of stickers with the serials printed. I normally take one off and stick it to the outside of the box so it's easier to get to later.
