Where is the icon zoom slider in folders gone?

In SL on bottom right you found a slider to make icons bigger and smaller. I cannot find this feature in Lion.

In Finder, click on View > Show Status Bar.
Or type Command /

  • How do I turn off and on the icon size slider bar at the lower right status bar of a folder window.

I have been trying for days to help a friend with a new iMac to turn on the icon size slider bar that on my iMac appears at the bottom of ever folder when it is open when in the "view" > "icon" mode.  I cannot find anything that discusses this slider bar.  I can turn this status bar off and on on both my machine and my friends machine, but I cannot turn off or on the slider on either machine.

This did not help.  I am a Mac User since 1984 and generally I am never stymied buy the Mac OS, but this one has me.   I can open and close the lower status bar, as you described, and that works fine for me because I have the icon slider bar already there and it works fine; however when I open the lower status bar on my friends machine there is no icon size slider bar, and I can't seem to find out how to get it there, as it is on my machine or at all. The icon size can be controlled from the View menu, but as a photographer, it is really handy to have it at the bottom of the folder window.  Thanks for trying.

  • I download an app to iCloud. Where is the icon?

I download an app and it says iCloud. Where is the icon on my iPad?

If it says icloud then it is not on your ipad, click the cloud icon and it should begin downloading to your ipad.

  • WHERE IS THE BUNNY/ TURTLE SLIDER???

where is the bunny/ turtle slider in imovie 08? also, where is the clip/ timeline option?

Those sliders changes the number of frames per thumbnail shown in the Event and Project panes, they don't change playback speed
This slider in effect changes the "clip" mode into a pseudo "timeline" mode (by changing the time duration/number of frames contained in the thumbnail segment) which answers the second half of the originally posted question. As all of us know, there is no fast or slow motion feature built into iMovie '08 at this time.

  • Where is the icon for my email?

I use outlook express but where is the icon for it?

Firefox does not have one. You can add an icon to open the email program of your choice by using the [http://webdesigns.ms11.net/getmail.html Get Mail] add-on.

  • WHERE IS THE ICON FOR MASKING LAYERS IN PHOTOSHOP 7??????????

Where is the icon for masking layers in photoshop 7????????????????????????????/

One ? should suffice, and why the capital letters?  Try to remain calm.  I know Photoshop can be frustrating, but In the grand scheme of things your inability to find a control in an application you're using really doesn't need such emphasis...  Please look up "netiquette" when you have a chance.
Try hovering your cursor over things and look at the ToolTip help balloons that pop-up.
You can add a Layer Mask by choosing Layer - Add Layer Mask from the menus.
If you're seeking the icon on which to click to begin painting on a Layer Mask, this is the one you want:
If you are talking about making layers visible or invisible, that's the little eyeball icon at the left of each layer in the Layers palette.

  • Just got lion and where the heck is the icon size slider in finder?

The only thing that made me upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard was the every present icon slider in thumbnail view, allowing you to instantly make the icons bigger.  I was annoyed that it Leopard I could only do it for results of a search, so I had to constantly perform fake searches to be able to see my icons at a decent size.
But now in Lion (Day 2) it's definitely not there by default.  I don't even see it when I search.  Please told tell me Apple took a step backward and removed something useful?  Please tell me that it's hidden in a setting somewhere, right?  It'd be like getting a new car with no cupholders!

In the Finder's View menu select Show Status Bar. The slider should appear in the status bar as before

  • Folder icon zoom/slider feature in Lion

Okay one of the things I immediately missed in Lion was the little slider on folder window where you could enlarge/shrink file icons. I found that very useful when looking at folders filled with photos and the like.
Haven't seen it mention yet but you can actually turn this funciton back on by clicking on a folder window to make it active and choosing View on the menu and the selecting "turn on status bar"
On both my macs with Lion this was turned off by default.

Thank you so much! It was the feature I missed the most and I was afraid it was gone. Do you know if there is a way to bring back the pinch-zoom option too? (On snow leopard the zoom of icons could also be done with gestures, now I can only do it by clicking the slide)

  • Where is the "Icon Display Period" attribute stored?

    G'day All,
I have a procedure that needs to referenece the "Icon Display
Period" attribute for a particular content area (this is normally accessed via
the Content Area properties page). Try as I might, I cannot track down
the table/column that stores this little gem of a value:-( Anyone have
any ideas where this might be located?
    Cheers
    Kal.

    G'day Sharmila,
Thanks for your quick response:-) Unfortunately neither WWV_THINGS nor WWV_CORNERS
seems to contain what I'm looking for (either that or I'm really missing something here).
My understanding is that WWV_CORNERS contains information about individual folders.
I use this table to get the UPDATEDATE and CREATEDATE attributes to which I want to
compare the difference between the current date and the "Icon Display Period".
WWV_THINGS seems to contain information about idividual items but I'm only really
interested in folders for the moment.
Now "Icon Display Period" seems to be a content area wide property. The default is 7 days.
I've looked at tables like WWSBR_ALL_CONTENT_AREAS and WWSBR_ALL_SITES
but they don't seem to hold very much information at all:-( Hmmm ... just looking at the Content
Area Properties page and there seems to be quite a lot of information there. Surely It must
    be stored somewhere?
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Kal.

  • Upgrade to Reader DC and the icons preview inside teh folders stop working...

On a win7 32 desktop I upgrade the new reader.
I have also installed Adobe Acrobat 9 standard Italian Rel. 9.5.5
After the upgrade for the Reader DC the preview disappeared, I remove the reader but the problem remain...

    Dear Mr. Mohd Amish,
I'm glad that the preview works with Acrobat XI but where can I find the download of the program? If I search for the adobe reader on the company website he offers me only Reader DC ... just the software that cause me the problem and that I immediately uninstalled leaving only Adobe Acrobat 9 standard Italian Rel. 9.5.5 but losing the icons and folders preview.
    Thank You for an answere

  • Why can't I change the icon of my file folders?

I'm trying to follow these directions (pasted below) that I found in Finder Help, but can't do Step 3. There is no icon in the info window that I can select. Can you please help? I have some folders for which it would be extremely helpful to show an image from their contents rather than the generic blue folder.
    Thank you so much!
To use your own picture or a picture from the web:
Copy the picture you want to use to the Clipboard. One way to do this is to open the picture in Preview, choose Edit > Select All, and then choose Edit > Copy.
Select the file or folder whose icon you want to replace and choose File > Get Info.
At the top of the Info window, click the picture of the icon to select it, and then choose Edit > Paste.

Thank you SO much! Funny thing, I didn't even notice the tiny folder icon at the top of the info window until I saw it in the screen shot at the beginning of that article.
See, I have begun changing the icons of the folders of digital scrapbooking alphabets I have (screenshot below). Now it will be so much easier to scroll through my hundreds of alphas and choose one, because I can SEE them without going in and out of each folder.
    A million thank yous!!!!!

  • Where are the icons?

I installed headstart with designer 6 with Oracle 8 on NT.
Everything seems to work but I cannot get the icons to appear in the toolbar in the utilities and demo applications.
    My registry settings are:
    TK25_ICON : F:\orant\HSD21\hst\ico
    UI_ICON : F:\orant\HSD21\hst\ico;f:\orant\CGENF60\ADMIN\ICONS\PC
Desparate as I was I even copied all the icons to the path where the invoked fmb was but it still does not work.
    Thanks in advance
    Joep Hendrix

You also need the path 'f:\hsd21\hsu\ico' in the UI_ICON registry variable. This is where the utilities icons are stored.

  • Where are the icons kept?

I'm trying to find out where the icons for the standard Mac applications can be found in order to modify them. There seems to be an icon folder in my library but it's empty. And a search for .ico only gave me some of the custom icons I have on my computer. Any idea where I can snatch those elusive .ico? There must be such a folder right?
