Where is the internet home screen button

HI,  I am a recently converted Mac user (2.0 ghz quad core i7). I am loving this machine. I just am trying to learn everything. It is a bit overwhelming.
My question is: is there a home screen button for the internet? On my pc there is a house shaped button that takes you to the home page.  Whenever I closed safari and then re-open it, it takes me to whatever screen I was on.
I hope this makes sense.  Thanks for your help.

Many possibilities here. These include:
* Make sure your homepage is selected in Safari, Preferences, General.
* Safari View menu, "Customize toolbar...", then add the home button to your toolbar.
The next suggestions are designed to deal with Mac OS Lion's "Resume" feature (which by default launches your applications in the state they were in when you closed them):
* Close all windows before quitting Safari.
* Press option key when quitting Safari.
* Press shift key when starting Safari.
* Uncheck the box "Restore windows..." near the bottom of System Preferences, General.

  • My screen on IPad2 temporarily blacked out; now I cannot collapse without using the main home screen button

My screen on the IPad2 temporarily blacked out, Now when trying to collpase apps with finger tips the screen does not respond.  Anyone with this issue?

Sounds like it is dying. Is it still under warranty? If it is, I suggest you take it to Apple and ask them to repair it.

    Hi there Swapnil_Pandey,
In order to address the other issues, we first need to address the hardware issue with the home button. Please take a look at the article below for more information on your available service options.

  • What makes the home screen button malfunction on the iPhone 3Gs?

I'm tired of cutting my phone off just to get to another app. Can someone help me figure out what happened to my home screen button?

It's very likely a hardware issue.
You could try a restore either from backup or as "new" to see if that rectifies the problem.
If not, then it's time for a visit to the genius bar for a warranty or out of warranty replacement depending on your warranty status.

  • HT4528 Why is the guided access not turning off on my iPhone? Plus, the home screen button hasn't worked since I bought it.

This morning I tried to turn on the guided access, which I quickly regretted. The home screen button on my iPhone 5 barely worked to begin with, so when it said "Guided access enabled, tap home screen button 3 times to exit," I knew I had problems. I turned guided access off, but my iPhone now will not exit the settings app, it will not turn off, it will not shut down, and it stays only on one screen. I am about ready to go to the Apple Store and find out what is wrong.
    Please help.

  • I hate that with ios 7 my bookmarks show up on the safari home screen. Is there a way to remove the icons from the screen without deleting my bookmarks completely?

I have recently updated to ios 7. On my safari home screen there are my favorites listed. I absolutely hate it. Is there anyway to remove the bookmarks from the safari home screen without deleting my bookmarks completely? I am resisting the urge to throw the whole **** thing away and buy another tablet. Please help me! I usually love the updates but I feel ios 7 is more than I can bare. If I wanted Window's crappy format I would have bought a Microsoft product!

On your safaris home screen is a square icons consisting of your favorites and the IOS 7 favorites ( Disney,Apple,Yahoo,Etc) and I knew I wouldn't use these so I wanted to learn how to delete them. So, after messing around a few times with them, I realized how easy it was to delete them. All you have to do is go to the top right corner of your homepage and click on the book icon (found left of the cloud icon). Once you click on it, your history for safaris searches should come up. On the top left corner above your history should be " <Bookmarks " written in blue. Click on that and a list consisting of these should come up ( top to bottom of list ) FAVORITES / HISTORY / GOOGLE /BING / IPAD USER GUIDE. Click on FAVORITES. Your list on the favorites on your home screen should come up. Simply slide over the item to your left (EX.. Yahoo) and a DELETE button in red should come up. Click delete and your done, the icons should disappear on your home screen. Only bad is that you have to delete them from your favorites too.

  • My Ipad is just over a year old.  I just got a blue screen, then it shut down.  I pushed the power and screen buttons together and it came back, but then went down again and now I can't get it to power up.  Any suggestions.

Can anyone help with the blue screen I just got.  Tried to power back up like one Apple user suggested by holding the power and screen button together, came back briefly, then shut down.  Now nothing.  Any help?

Plug your device into the original charger & block in a wall outlet and leave it alone for a couple of hours. Then, while it is still plugged in, restart it by holding down the home button and the power button for 10-15 seconds until you see the Apple, then let go.

  • IPod Touch 1st Gen Home Screen Button

    Hi,
this is my second iPod touch, my first one which I brought in September 2007 was replaced after about 9 months after Apple were unable to fix it, so my current iPod has long ran out of warranty.
My new problem is that for the last 2 months, the home screen button has become very wiggly, and it had to be pushed in a certain angle or a number of times before it would actually work, now it doesn't work at all. To change app I have to turn it off, then back on which takes around 4 minutes.
I've already searched, but found no sufficient answers, has anyone else had this problem and has it been fixed? I would like to send it back to Apple, but I've heard they charge a lot and I could probably near enough buy a new iPod for the same price...
    Thank you

  • Iphone Home Screen button

So, recently my iphone fell straight into a toilet, literally completely submerged, everything surprisingly works except the home screen button, so I would have to turn of the phone and turn it back on, recently though it starts to work amazingly, but then sometimes it wont, its like 50/50, when it got wet also there was a problem with the dock icons sensing but when I brought it to the mac store they fixed it by, tightening the wires?, if I bring it to the mac store could they fix the home-screen button, its so weird because it works and then it sometimes doesn't?

There are moisture senors in the headphone socket and the base socket which will now be red. They will take one look at that (they do this first), and then point out that the warranty has been voided by immersion.
You only option will be an out of warranty replacement for £149.

  • Add to home screen button won't work in safari

The add to home screen button in safari is not working. Have a link I want to add, touch the button and it moves as if to acknowledge the request but the button isn't there when you close safari. There are no restrictions in place

I fixed it by resetting using home key & off button

  • Home Screen Button

I have Ipod Touch, the home screen button doesn't respond, basically i have to tap it up to 5 times to respond, is this a common problem?

Thanks. Had run across that thread a few days back. Not sure with a warrantied device if I want to risk that warranty. <VBG>
Did try a bit of compressed air. It's an off and on flaky sort of button. Unlike my iPads which are very responsive.
    Thanks though!
    Regards.

  • Is there any way under iOS7 to show the full home screen without the 3D band at the bottom reducing picture size?

Is there any way under iOS7 to show the full home screen without the 3D band at the bottom reducing picture size? I want to see full pictures from my camera roll, not "special effects" from Apple..

By 3D band are you referring to the Dock area where apps like Safari and Mail live? If so there is no way to remove this.
    Regards,
    Steve

  • Ipad icons shaking, NOT the customize home screen!

I've had an ipad now for about 2-3 months.  While using it regardless of the app, the icons start moving randomly moving side to side and the search screen will show up along with the keyboard.  This is NOT the customize home screen shaking that have a black x to remove apps, etc.  This was happening before and after iOS6 upgrade so it has nothing to do with the OS upgrade, it seems to be a hardware issue.
Below is the link to a video I took:

    Any ideas?

Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is app and data safe!
