Where is the actual IOS 5 update?

THank you HunnyBun88; I must have missed something in that article. Thank you for answering me.
Johnathan Burger's comment helped me the most. The IPad 'User Guide' spelled-out the
ANswer: I hooked the iPad to my Mac computer, called up ITunes, found The Update tab,
And ran Update (on the Mac) , but iTunes was already current.  Right away a button came
UP that said Update your IPAD.  I ran that, and the IOS5.1.1 download began (from the
mac to the iPad).  About an hour later the iPad was at IOS 5.1.1.
Again, thank you all for helping me, and I look forward to returning the favor.

  • HT4060 Where on the iPad mini do I plug in the power cord?

I just bought a new iPad mini and need to recharge the battery.  But I don't see where on the iPad to plug in the power cord.  The power cord has the same male connector as my iPhone 4.  Help!

Use the cable that came with the iPad mini, not with your iPhone. Different connectors.

  • Where is the ipad backup kept

where is the ipad backup kept

    <Profile>\<AppData>\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
And on the assumption that your supplementary question is "It's taking up too much room on my C:\ drive, how do I move it?"...
You can redirect <Profile>\<AppData>\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup to a folder on another drive using NTFSLink (shell ext., might only work on XP) or Junction (cmd line tool).
In essence you move the existing folder to a new location, create an empty folder where the old one used to be, then get the operating system to link the two togther and silently redirect any file operation on the old location through to the new one.

  • I just updated the iPad IOS and it will not finish. HELP

I just updated the iPad IOS to 8.3 and it will not finish the install it has been stuck for over 24 hours. I plug it into the Mac and the computer says that the iPad must give me access which of course I can't. So I can not do a hard reboot. help

If it's stuck on the progress bar then you could try a soft-reset and see if that gets it to complete : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should reappear and it will hopefully reboot fully.
If not then try recovery mode and restore to your backup : If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

  • Where is the ipad backup file in Mountain Lion?

In Snow Leopard, there was a library folder in the user folder, but in Mountain Lion, you have the system library, but no user library that I can see.  I would like to locate it so that I can have the option of deleting the iPad portion of the Mobile Backups (like I did with SL to free up more space).
    Please advise.
    Thank you!

And you are sure you are backing up to the computer and not to iCloud?

  • Where does the iPad store passwords?

If I need to log into a site on my Mac I can find the password in keychain access. I need to know how to access stored passwords on my iPad. My iPad is currently connected to my daughter's wifi but I need to go online with my laptop. She is not available to tell me the password. Where can I find the password?

    rbrylawski,
It is no more of a security issue on an iPad or iPhone than on a laptop MacBook Pro.  There is no reason that you could not have a special password-protected area that would allow you to see the automatic passswords that it is using.  Mac's have keychain access, there is no reason the iPad and iPhone have to hide those passwords.
I have had the occasion several times to need to sign onto a WiFi site with my iPhone, when I had previously done it with my iPad. Unfortunately, I didn't memorize the password and had a lot of trouble making connection.

  • How do i change the speed of an audiobook on the iPad. (iOS 5)

If i start a audiobook on the iPad 2 it is played in double speed. I cant find a way to change this.

There used to be a playback speed on the right below the scrubber bar but I can't find it on iPad iOS 5.
If you look at the iOS 5 manual for the iPod Touch the playback speed setting is still there, I don't know why it isn't available on iPad. I am also missing some other options on iPad iOS 5 which I used on iOS 4 and liked, for example, viewing the podcast info and viewing which podcasts I've played or partially played.
Sorry I can't help but I think there are some features that have been disabled on iPad iOS 5 which shouldn't have been disabled.
