Where is the language translator in Mac OS X 10.6?

When I was poking around with different areas of my new IMac, I came upon a language translator and I don't recall where I located it. Now I can't find it at all. Can anyone help me relocate it? I need help with this one asap. Thanks.... I know it's probably simple, but new to the IMac.... was a PC and now I am a Mac

Oh oh, I know!
It's in the widgets. Bring up the Dashboard (F4) and then click the + sign in the bottom left corner to bring up all the widgets you can use. It's in there.

    where are the updates located for Mac App Store app? I don't think /Library/Updates is the only location. Because I'm now having 10+ of Apps reporting updates is needed, but only 1MB+ files is located in /Library/Updates.

  • Where is the redeem option on Mac App store?

    Where is the Redeem option on Mac App Store?. I would like to upgrade to OS X mountain Lion through up-to-date program

    The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
    If you have signed up for the up-to-date program, Apple will send you two emails. One has a secure pdf document with the redemption code inside. The other email will have the password to open the secure pdf. Once you have the redemption code open the Mac App Store, sign into your account, go to the Features pane and you will find the Redeem link in Quick Links on the right of the pane. Click the link and follow the on screen instructions to use the redemption code and download the 4+ GB Mountain Lion installer.

  • Where is the Preferences Folder in Mac OS X 10.9?

    Hi,
    I'm having some problems learning the new operating system Mac OS X 10.9.1. I'm looking for the Preferences Folder or the Library Folder for a User Account. Can anyone tell me where to fine it, please?
    Thank you in advance of your time,
    Mel.

    You can make it permanently visible by going to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.
    Thanks to leonie for some information contained in this.
    You might need to redo the View settings after an update.

  • WHERE IS THE LIGHTROOM SDK FOR MAC?

    Hi,
    I can't find where to download the SDK for Lightroom 3 for Mac??
    Thanks,
    Juan

    Hi,
    Its most likely showing you a blank page again because it is pulling the page from your browser's cache (or an ISP cache) instead of the web server. On Windows I'd try holding down the Control, Alt or Shift key (can never remember which) to bypass the cache when next refreshing that page. Not sure what the equivalent is on Mac (and presumably Safari). Alternatively try a different browser e.g. Chrome or Firefox to see if it has more luck with the download.
    As Rob mentioned, the link posted earlier by Renambol seems to be working fine.

  • Unable to figure out where all the space on my Mac is

    Hi,
    I am trying to install some Oracle software on my macbook pro (Weblogic server). I have enough space on the HDD
    $ df -h
    Filesystem      Size   Used  Avail Capacity  iused     ifree %iused  Mounted on
    /dev/disk0s2   465Gi   46Gi  419Gi    10% 12010062 109876680   10%   /
    But the installer keep prompting for Insufficient disk space! error.
    $ pwd
    /Users/SonyMac
    $ du -csh .
    26G          .
    26G          total
    I am not sure where is the 419 GB space distributed and how can I allocate more space under /Users/SonyMac. Any help will be appreciated.
    Regards
    Subhankar

    subhankarsahu,
    how old is this software that you are trying to install? Could it be that it thinks that 419 GB of free space is an impossibility? That message states that the installer requires less than 2 GB of free space.
    What is the output from these commands?
    x=/Users/SonyMac/Oracle/Middleware1/wlserver_10.3
    du -ms $x
    ls -ld $x
    ls -l $x

  • Where is the Local Folder in Mac Mail

    i have been banging my head against a wall trying to get my Local Folder mail from my current email handler into Mac Mail and for some reason I don't see this account in Mac Mail. I tried a search in the Help documentation and can't seem to find good info on this.
    can someone please help me figure out how I /move/ mail to the local folder and where i should see this folder?
    thanks!

    hey man. thanks.
    i have been having a bit of an epic battle but i am now realizing that these are now shown to me in Mac Mail after having File > Import > MBox these folders from my previous Mail handler (I /tried/ using postbox)...
    anyway, obviously now I can drag other mail to this Local Folder in Mac Mail since it is now there after having imported the info from elsewhere. not sure how one does this when Mail isn't showing a local folder but presumably there is a pulldown to move IMAP mail to Local.
    anyway, the big, big, big thing to know here is that you can transfer LOCAL FOLDER mail from a mail handler to Mac Mail by IMPORTING. I was trying to do this with Postbox via GMail and in addition to the upload speeds being very slow, there was not way to know if the operation was completed and it /seemed/ to crash out part way through. doing this in Postbox was like eating a Peanut Butter Sandwich (heavy peanut butter) while standing in quicksand...
    glad to be out of that trap.
    cheers!

  • DVD Player - Where are the language folders located?

    In attempting to free-up HD space, I accidently deleted ALL of my languages from the Open Apple-I window of DVD Player. They luckily went to the trash, and I recovered the English.Iproj folder. All I need to do is find a home for it, but alas, even Spotlight will not reveal its location. I might add that I was following a recent MacWorld article!

    Control-click it, choose Show Package Contents, and put them into the Contents/Resources/ folder.

  • ITunes 11 / where is the repeat button in Mac version?

    In iTunes previous versions, there was a repeat-play button (it toggled:  repeat track or repeat entire playlist or don't repeat) down at the bottom of the source panel, same general area as the shuffle button.    Now the shuffle button is up by the playlist title (and it doesn't cause the main window display order to resequence any more, which is ABSURD), and the repeat button is nowhere to be found as far as I can tell.
    In the latest version for iOS of iTunes,  there is still a functional repeat button on the artwork view of a currently playing track.  It will definitely repeat one track, I'm not sure what the toggle to repeat does if it's turned while a playlist of multiple albums is playing.
    Anyway what happened to the repeat functions in iTunes 11??     They seem to have vanished from the Mac version at least.
    And what's with the lack of "what you see is what you get"  when you turn shuffle on in iTunes 11, and the main window display doesn't  update to reflect the new sequence of play?   Why should we have to look up in that UpNext thing to see what the shuffled order of play is?!

    Hi, I don't have any in 10.4.11 either.

  • Where is the Preview folder on mac?

    Hi!~ I always open preview folder from systems temp on windows7, but in mac I can't find it folder?
    event I search on floder not find.
    Please tell me the preview temp folder path for mac!~

    It's in your user (Home) > Library folder. In recent versions of Mac OS X, this is hidden by default.
    In the Finder, hold down the Option key first while choosing Go > Library so you can see it.
    Then find it in:
    Library > Application Support > Adobe > Acrobat > 11.0 > Stamps

  • Where is the blockquote on a Mac keyboard ?

    Hi ... Is there a symbol that represents <blockquote> on a Macintosh keyboard ?

    Hi Thomas,
    Thanks for helping.  In order to get a special text format in a forum, I need to put <blockquote> before and after the text.  I wondered if there was a symbolic way of putting <blockquote> like «*» sometimes represent italic and «**» bold.
    I thought that this would be an obvious question for this forum.
