Where is the maps view in photos in ios7

Ipafter the update to ios7 i am missing in photos the view of the map.
Before you could selcet the map and then start to find all photos from that location.
I don't like the new view. I will not upgrade my other ios devices to ios7 until this is fixed.

I have this issue too. I use iTunes for Windows to sync folders of photos (containing EXIF data) to my iPhone. On iOS 6, the map view was available in the photos app, but in iOS 7 it has disappeared.

  • How do I deinstall the Map Viewer service

I have a client who downloaded the map viewer quick start package for 11g.
He was supposed to deploy the map viewer on web logic but ran some sort
of batch file that he found in the root of the unzipped package.
MapViewer "seemed" to install fine but never asked him where Web logic
was installed. Furthermore if I have him look at the current deployments
on web logic mapviewer does not show up.
How he can bring up the mapviewer page and admin console is
beyond me. Perhaps it was installed on IIS (I haven't checked
    that yet) ?
What I'd like to do is have him deinstall map viewer and then
reinstall it correctly so that it gets deployed to web logic this time.
The problem is that I don't know where the heck his version
is installed at yet and I'm not sure how do deinstall it.
    Any ideas ?

When you run start.bat it will start a standalone OC4J that runs mapviewer. So long as that batch file is still running then mapviewer is still running. If you close/ctrl-C the batch file then mapviewer stops. There is no installer/uninstalller, you just need to delete the whole folder containing the quickstart files.
As for deploying, the quick start can't be used for deploying to a web logic, you need to download the other mapviewer install that contains the mapviewer.ear file.

  • Where is the location of isight photo for new osx account?

Hi all - my first post....
When a new account is created and the (inbuilt) isight camera is used to take a login photo, where on the OS is that photo stored and in what format?
Sorry if it's basic, but I've searched high and low for ages...
    David
intel laptop   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Welcome to Apple Discussions, David
While your question may be basic, the answer is not so simple.
Yours is actually a question about how OS X works rather than iSight.
See Niel's Nov, 2006, response to Bernhard VonZastrow1's question in:
    http://discussions.apple.com/click.jspa?searchID=-1&messageID=3532758
Because this old post has been archived and will be removed from view before this topic is, I quote Niel's response here for the record:
The login picture can be anywhere on the hard disk; to find its current location, open the NetInfo Manager in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder, and check the picture property for your user account.
To find this property for a system other than the one currently used to start up the computer, open the Terminal application in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder and run the following command:
sudo nicl -raw '/Volumes/volumename/private/var/db/netinfo/local.nidb' -read users/username/
This command will prompt you for your administrator password; nothing will appear in the Terminal window while it is being typed. Look for the picture line in the output to find the path.

If Niel's response answers your question, please let us know, but wait for Niel to post here so you can credit him with the "Solved" points he deserves.
If you need more help of info about this topic, you might want to post in Tiger Forums > Administration, Accounts & Login Discussions. Niel and other very smart folks will help you with your OS X questions there.

  • Where is the Map?

I'm reading the news about how Apple is using OpenStreetMap instead of Google in iPhoto for iOS.  I have an iPhone 4 and an iPad 2 and can not find the map view I see people discussing.  In fact, I found somewhere that when you select [i] info for an image, you should see the Info, Comments and Maps in the pop up but I don't have Maps.  I can go to Places in the Photos app and see that I have many photos that are geotagged but this does not work when using iPhoto.
    * Nevermind, I figured it out.  In the settings in iPhoto you have to turn on Location Lookup.  I thought I'd still post this in case anyone else had this problem.

There is no upgrade - Photos is a new and totally different application - it does not have a map view and currently does not have any ability to add or modify locations - iPhoto still exists as it was before
    Tell Apple what you want
In the meantime you have the option of continuing to use iPhoto (or Aperture) as before - they still work fine and will continue to until come OS upgrade breaks  them - maybe with enough customer input Apple will even agree  to continue to support them - worth a try

  • In Places, the map view that shows the pin is too zoomed in.

When using Places,  the map view that comes up showing the pin is too zoomed in.  I have to zoom out about 4 tines in order to recognize where it is.

  • Where is the trash folder in photos

iPhoto just got updated to Photos on my Macbook Air Yosemite 1-.10.3 Where is the trash folder in Photos? iPhoto had a trash folder and I could go back and search for a photo I'd deleted. I cannot find a trash folder on Photos. What happened to all the photos I had in the trash folder in iPhoto?

It's not calle Recently Deleted and is reached via the File ➙ Show Recently Deleted menu option.
There you can the remove them from the library or return them to the library.

  • Where is the map of the whole world showing ALL my geotagged photos in the new Photos app?

After "upgrading" from iPhoto to Photos, I cannot call up the world map to locate where I took pictures. Is this feature gone?
It used to be if you clicked on "places" in the iPhoto sidebar you got this map. All the photos in one's library were represented by red pins. Since I organize my photos by location more than anything else feature such as date, this is a critical feature for me. Is it gone or has it been buried somewhere else in the program. (And no, clicking on the location data in each of the "events" is not sufficient because it only shows the photos in that event.)
Also, how do you geotag data after you have taken a photo if it was geotagged in contemporaneously?

There is no upgrade - Photos is a new and totally different application - it does not have a map view and currently does not have any ability to add or modify locations - iPhoto still exists as it was before

  • Where are the maps on my 8120 pearl?

    Hi Guys,
Apparently, phones that support 4.2 or above have the maps application.  My phone is 4.3 so should have the Blackberry maps already downloaded.  I have gone into 'Advanced Options' and maps is there - but where do I find the application to be able to use it??

(In the  future, it would be a good idea to post your own thread, rather than jumping on the tail of another old one).
I know a couple of people who use the BT dongle for GPS, with no problems.
When you are certain the BT GPS device is connected to the BB, do this:
Make certain that you in an area of good signal coverage AND outside with a clear view of the sky in an open area of no tall buildings.
Click Options > Advanced > GPS > Menu > Refresh GPS.
Give it up to 10 minutes to refresh, and try 2-3 times in a row.

  • Where is the Hidden folder in photos?

I Migrated my pics from iPhoto to Photos. I've read that the pictures will appear in a "Hidden" folder...not in Moments or Albums. Where is the Hidden folder? I cannot find.

    Hi Ohohum,
Happy Holidays!  The resource below will review the migration process from iPhoto to Photos for iOS.  If you have any hidden photos, they will be in an album called Hidden.  Click on the links below for complete details.  I've summarized some of the key information relating to your question below:
Migrating from iPhoto for iOS to Photos on iOS 8 - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201386
Photos hidden in iPhoto do not appear in the Years, Moments, or Collections views in Photos, but are placed in an album titled Hidden.
View photos and videos - iPhone
    http://help.apple.com/iphone/8/#/iph3d267610
The Photos app includes tabs for Photos, Shared, and Albums.
Tap Albums to see how photos and videos are organized into albums on your iPhone. See Organize photos and videos.
View all your photos and videos. By default, Photos displays a representative subset of your photos when you view by year or by collection. To see all your photos and videos, go to Settings > Photos & Camera, then turn off Summarize Photos.
Organize photos and videos - iPhone
    http://help.apple.com/iphone/8/#/iphf14943e
Album tab includes albums you create and several default albums, depending on which Photos features you use. Videos are automatically added to the Videos album, for example. You see a My Photo Stream album if you use that feature (see My Photo Stream). If you use iCloud Photo Library beta, you have an All Photos album, which includes all your photos and videos in iCloud (see iCloud Photo Library beta); if you don’t use iCloud Photo Library beta, the Camera Roll album includes photos and videos you took with iPhone or saved to iPhone from other sources.
Hide photos you want to keep but not show. Touch and hold a photo, then choose Hide. The photo is moved to the Hidden album. Touch and hold a hidden photo to Unhide it.
Remove a photo or video from an album. Tap the photo or video, tap , then tap Delete Photo. The photo is removed from the album and from the Photos tab.
Delete a photo or video from Photos. Tap the Photos tab, tap the photo or video, tap , then tap Delete Photo or Delete Video. Deleted photos and videos are kept in the Recently Deleted album on iPhone, with a badge showing the remaining days until the item is permanently removed from iPhone. To delete the photo or video permanently before the days expire, tap the item, tap Delete, then tap Delete Photo or Delete Video. If you use iCloud Photo Library beta, deleted photos and videos are permanently removed from all iOS 8.1 devices that use iCloud Photo Library beta with the same Apple ID.
Recover a deleted photo or video. In the Recently Deleted album, tap the photo or video, tap Recover, then tap Recover Photo or Recover Video to move the item to the Camera Roll or, if you use iCloud Photo Library beta, the All Photos album.

  • Sports Tracker - where's the map ?

    Hi !
Is the map supposed to appear in Sports Tracker ?  In one of the views, I can see that the application is trying to map out my route but there background is blank.
Is this a problem with my phone ?  If this is as design, what is the purpose of this view as there is no map to reference my position.
    Thanks.

    Hi fogster74
Presumably you have already accessed this settings page as shown in screenshot and changed to "Phone and Network"?

  • OSX Mavericks - Where is the 'today' view in Finder?

Where has the 'Today' and 'Yesterday' view gone in Finder?

    Hi bobcatX,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
The "Search For" option is not present in the Finder sidebar in Mavericks, but you can recreate the functionality by using Smart Folders. When you create a Smart Folder, you have the option to add it to the Finder sidebar.
To set it up, first create a Smart Folder:
In the Finder, choose File > New Smart Folder, or press Command (⌘)-Option-N.
Next, set the parameters of your search:
To search for additional specific attributes, click Add ( + ) below the search field. Search attribute pop-up menus appear.
The menus work in pairs; for example, to search for images, you would choose Kind from the pop-up menu on the left, and then choose Images from the pop-up menu next to it.
In this case, choose "Last modified date" from the pop-up menu on the left, and "Today" or "Yesterday" from the pop-up menu next to it.
    Lastly, save the search:
Click Save, and specify a name and location for your Smart Folder. If you do not want your Smart Folder to be in the sidebar, deselect Add To Sidebar.
You can do many things with Smart Folders, so check out this article for more tips:

  • Where is the "month" view on the calendar in iOS7?

    The subject is my question.
What happened to the month view on the calendar in iOS7? I really liked my MONTH view. Mine is showing only 3 options: Today, Calendars, Inbox.
I really liked being able to see what is scheduled for the month.  Now I have to push on each day to see if there is something going on, and the calendar only shows the week.
Apple reminds me of Coke.  You have something that works really well and everyone loves it (real Coke), and then they decide to completely change it (fake Coke LOL) and one can never get the old stuff back -- even as an option.
So I liked my old calendar and wanted to keep it.  LOL

Okay, just found this thread for anyone else who has this question: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23043066#23043066

  • Oracle Audit SMF records (z/OS) / where are the mapping macros for SMAAUD?

    hi all,
i'm searching unsuccessfully for the mapping macros describing the SMAAUD field content of the Oracle Audit SMF Records.
does anybody have experience with analyzing the Oracle Audit SMF records?
    best regards
    stephen

    Art,
The external tables are tricky because if you make one trivial mistake when describing the records (such as a wrong field length or type), the end result will be that the query against the FT will return no errors, but there will be zero or some weard number of records returned. I suggest to check again the record description and to try to select from the external table (after it is deployed) from SQL plus.
Also, when configuring the flat file in OWB you can define the log file that will trace FT creation errors during deployment and a Bad file name that will direct the database to write records not fitting into the FT definition to the location specified in 'Bad file name'.
These configuration parameters can be of help when struggling with the issues mentioned above.
    Regards:
    Igor
