Where is the mavericks install (stupid question)?

I need to install a dual boot with mavericks.
I can't find the installer...is there a repo with all OS releases?

Mavericks is not available as a fresh download; it is only available if you have a Mac which came with Mavericks installed. Mountain Lion and Lion are available by going to the Online Apple Store where you will get a download token for the Mac App Store, but so far this facility has not been provided for Mavericks. (Searching for Mavericks takes you to the Yosemite page.) It's not know whether it will be made available at a later date.

Where do the updates installed on your pc?

where do the updates installed on your pc? I checked for updates and clicked download for the 5.7 update. I can't find it anywhere on my pc.

Yes, your right. It is the default location. In my case, I was clicking the download button under "Help", "Check for Updates" and the notice for the 5.7 update was there. Clicking on the "Download" button did nothing. I tried chatting for almost 2 hours with Adobe Support and they just wanted me to go to the direct link they supplied instead of fixing the problem that the "Download" button did nothing.

I downloaded the mavericks install, and then my comp told me to erase my harddrive because its corrupted. All my files are on there, now it wont even let me open my laptop without having me reboot to the comp to the original state. how do i undo this all?

did you try to install Mavericks, or did you only download its installer without running it? Which version of OS X is currently installed on your MacBook Pro? Do you still have the two grey installation DVDs which originally came in the box with your MacBook Pro? Do you have backups of the files on your MacBook Pro from before you downloaded the Mavericks installer?

Where is the Maverick installer on my Mac?

I am trying to create an emergency boot drive on an USB stick that will allow me to start up my Mac and do simple things like run disk utility if for some reason the "hard disk" gets corrupted. I did this successfully with my previous Mac (OS 10.7) and I have the instructions from Macworld, but I'm already stumped at the first step:
Look through your list of applications and locate the one named Install OS X Mavericks.
There is no such thing in my Apps folder, since I bought the Mac new with Mavericks already installed. I also don't seem to be able to get it from the App Store (at least not with any of the tricks I could find. Any suggestions?

Step One is to make a copy of the installer because after it finishes it erases itself. That's why you can't find it. Now that you have Mavericks installed you cannot re-download the installer.
Make Your Own Mavericks, Mountain/Lion Installer
After downloading the installer you must first save the Install Mac OS X application. After the installer downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing.
   2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your flash drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the leftside list. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list.
Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to an hour depending upon the flash drive size.
Use DiskMaker X to put your installer clone onto the USB flash drive.
Make your own Mavericks flash drive installer using the Mavericks tool:
You can also create a Mavericks flash drive installer via the Terminal. Mavericks has its own built-in installer maker you use via the Terminal:
You will need a freshly partitioned and formatted USB flash drive with at least 8GBs. Leave the name of the flash drive at the system default, "Untitled." Do not change this name. Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder. Copy this entire command line after the prompt in the Terminal's window:
     sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume
     /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app --nointeraction
Press RETURN. Enter your admin password when prompted. It will not be echoed to the screen so be careful to enter it correctly. Press RETURN, again.
Wait for the process to complete which will take quite some time.

Using the Assets panel [was: The most basic stupid question on here]

I am very new to web design, self taught on sites like GoDaddy and Microsoft Office Live, but there's no access to root directory and adding affiliate banners won't work. So here I am. Define a Local Site folder In Dreamweaver. Without this critical first step, DW cannot manage assets for you.

Where is the Clean Install file for Flash Player for Mac?

The troubleshooting for Mac Install of Flash Player suggests that one uninstall and then perform a clean install. I believe that this has also been referred to as an "offline" installer. When one clicks on the the link to the clean install, one obtains the dreaded "404", File not Found error. Does anyone know where one can find the clean install file. The standard update almost never, ever works on my 2009 PowerMac, now running Yosemite. Would someone please suggest to the folks running the Adobe website that it would be nice to have a working link to such a file. This issue has come up before. Would someone also suggest that before any new update is unleashed upon the world that someone make sure that the "Clean Install" link is linked to a download of a "Clean Install" installer?

Where is the Oracle install log stored?

Hi everyone. Quick question. I am installing Oracle 11G on a Linux OS. I receive failures on the first set of checks. I want to view these failures outside the GUI, but for some reason I am unable to copy the info out, and place it in a pad. Curious where Oracle logs that logfile.

Overall installation logs reside oracle inventory directory (in logs directory).
Path to oracle invetntory you can find in /etc/oraInst.loc file.

Where is the forum to post questions on Windows 8.1 (table) APPS

I have a Windows Tablet (HP OMNI) Windows 8. I am using the people app that Microsoft provides. I have linked my account with Facebook. Now when I go to the PEOPLE app in Windows tablet and I click on "Whats new", I should see all the new updates
from Facebook however I just see only 3 of them. Is there a way for me to see all the notifications from Facebook.
If it helps, this used to work just fine almost a month back so I m not sure why it is not working now.
I have tried almost everything - restart, uninstall the PEOPLE and MAIL app and install it back , re-add my facebook account in the PEOPLE APP but nothing helps. I only see 3 notification IN WHATS NEW sections.

I have downloaded and 'installed' Mavericks, restarted but it's still 10.8.5 and the Mavericks Install is still in my Applications folder. I've done this three times, still no result. Help!?!

Do you have the 5.3 GB Mac OS X Mavericks installer application? Please do the following:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Now try installing Mavericks, but before you do I recommend you put a copy of the installer in your Downloads folder and make a backup of your current system.

Where is the new installed program

I recently downloaded two programs and installed both. I have tried searching for them and am unable to find either one. I have looked with view finder and searched for the names and can only find the installer packages for them. I reinstalled and both said they were successfully installed yet no where to be found repeatedly. Any help would be great.

Which applications did you install? Knowing that would help.
Most apps are usually in .dmg or .zip format and are usually just dragged to the Applications folder. Some come as as installer 'packages' but usually end up in the Applications folder as well.
If you'll let us know the names of the programs perhaps we can be of some help.

I have installed LR-CC on my Windows-7 desktop computer (Successfully! It installed automatically from the CC app.)
Do I have to repeat the 900mb internet download on my laptop to install it there also, or is there an .exe file somewhere on my desktop machine?

On my system it is in the Temp folder with this name as a folder.
{1AB633DF-325A-441C-B97C-3A561CB64AB0}.
On default Windows installs the main Temp folder is in your user name account and there is a second one in the Windows folder.
Copy the complete folder to a USB thumb drive. The size of the complete folder is 798MB and one of the subfolders is named Lightroom_6_lS11. That holds the Set-up.exe file but you need all the other subfolders.
Here a screen shot (NOTE I have a User Defined Temp folder on my E: drive as I don't like temp files being placed on my C: boot drive.).

Where is the Lightroom install icon?

Just purchase 9.99 LR5/PS package for cc.No problem updating PS but there is no Lightroom icon in the install/upgrade window.

Where is the mavericks download for mac laptop

I can find the upgrade but not the application although it tells me it is in the App Store. I can't

PS Should my Macbook be using the battery when not in use? Eg: It was fully charged last nite, this morning the power is at 78% and I haven't used it.
Also is Flash Player part of this package? It won't stay up when I download it and some applications keep asking for it.
