Where is the Media Encoder download????

Encoder is giving me problems so I'm trying to reinstall it, but it's no where to be found in the App Manager list or on the CC site.

Thanks John. Although I've reinstalled both Premiere Pro and After Effects and Media Encoder is not there. This might be because I originally uninstalled Encoder by throwing it in my trash and deleting it before using the uninstall app for Premiere and After Effects. I'm not sure if that's confused the process. Does anyone know how/where I can get Encoder to download seperately?

hi guys, i'm trying to sort out what input codecs ME accepts. but i can't find where the ME forums are.
yeah, i've also spent 40 minutes with Adobe telephone support, only to learn that they, too, would like R&D to tell them exactly what codecs ME is supposed to support ....
(in my particular case, i'm trying to get avi/cram into CS4; i realize it's not supported directly, so i'm trying to figure out what interim format is best to use. the two i tried so far both result in "Codec Initialization Problem!")

Same general question or same exact question? I guess I'll upgrade to ME CS5 and see if things are different.
In the meantime, Microsoft helped me (lets see how fast this gets deleted ...). Turns out that i can use the $49 "Microsoft Expression Encoder 3 with IIS Smooth Streaming" to do the screen capture, and it will then support transcoding it to 264, which i then copy over to my Mac and work with in CS4. This seems to be the best way to do screen cast recording.

Where is Premiere, Media Encoder, Etc?

I just need to convert a video and went further and further into the Rabbit Hole. These apps are not available on my desktop CC app.
Ok, Why I ask myself. I know that previously PP wasn't available for Windows, but now it seems to be. But I can't tell for sure from the Adobe website. I went to the website, tried to download PP from there, and it just launched the desktop app which did nothing. So..
Is PP still not available for Windows?
What about Media Encoder?
Is Media Encoder supposed to come with PP?
Is this a limitation of the Academic version of CC?
Why does the Adobe website suck so bad? Why can't they simply list the programs that come with each version of Creative Cloud? These are tools for professionals. We know what the tools are for, stop the selling and tell us what the tools are and what it takes to get them.
If I could, I would go entirely open source. The commercial developer market is a monopoly here. Far worse than anything Microsoft ever did.

Ah! Yes, I have a 32-bit machine. One mystery solved - I suppose it's the same with After Effects. This I would have known had I found the system requirements anywhere.
Do you know about the Media Encoder, whether it requires 64 bit or only comes with the other programs? I do have Premiere and AE CS4 which are fine. But I was hoping to be able to use an updated version of Media Encoder - it seems that the presets in CS4 are a bit outdated.

Premiere Pro CC 2014 crashes while trying to export to the Media Encoder.

When trying to adding some (most) videos to the queue in Premiere, it hangs on the Export Media window, which becomes white.
Exporting the video without using the Media Encoder still works however.

Sign in to your Adobe account online and look in the Plans/Products sections to see which program it might have been.

Where are the media files?

I can't believe I'm asking such a basic question but I can't find the answer! Where are the media clips stored in iMovie 6? In past versions, the media was kept in a folder titled "Media". I've searched my computer for clips I want to export to FCE but can't find them.

Ctrl-click (or right-click) the icon of the project file to get the contextual menu. Choose "Show Package Contents".

If you haven't run the installer yet, it is sitting in your /Applications folder. If you have run it, I'm afraid its already gone. When you run the installer, it self deletes.
To avoid this, you have to make a copy of the installer.app BEFORE you install (in other words, after the download completes and the installer app automatically starts, quit it, then go to /Applications and copy 'Install Mountain Lion.app').

From your post I understand you're wanting to move iMovie project and event data to another drive. I found the following information in the iMovie help that answers your question.
Copy or move projects, events, or clips between libraries or storage devices
Connect a storage device that contains the target library to your Mac, or copy the target library to your Mac.
Choose File > Open Library, and choose an option from the submenu.You can choose from recently opened libraries, locate an existing library on your Mac, or create a new library.The selected library is opened in the Libraries list, with the first event selected and its contents displayed in the browser.
In the Libraries list, select the event that contains the item you want to move or copy.
In the browser, select the item you want to move or copy.Tip: To select multiple clips or projects in the same library, hold down the Command key as you click the items you want to select, or drag a selection rectangle around the items.
Do one of the following:
To move items between events or libraries: Drag the clip or project to another event or library.
To copy items between events or libraries: Option-drag the clip or project to another event or library by first starting to drag and then holding down the Option key as you drag.

Only sequences, where are the media files?

I recieved a project that has only sequences in the browser, but in the seqences, the edited clips are there. Where are the media files? I'm used to having the media files in my browser with my sequences. Since I have sequences but no media files, I'm not sure where the media is that the clips (in the timeline)are pointing to. I know where my source files (QT) are. just not sure where the media files that represent that

If you are working from the same volume as the original projects, or at least a volume with the same name and folder structure then you are fine. If you want, you can select all the medial files in the sequences and drag them to the browser if it helps you to see what you have. Personally, I think if you are not changing any of those sequenced you're just as well to leave it as it is. Are you seeing video when you play those SD sequences? If yes then they are already pointing to the original media. FCP doesn't create its own media unless you render, and even then, it still uses the original in that process. So if you can see the video, you're all set. It's when you see those white clips in the timeline that you have to worry.

If your Safari keeps crashing, or if you are updating Safari (or just have) and it is misbehaving:
N.B. Never delete Safari, never run it under Rosetta, don't use proxy settings, and don't change the application's name or move it from the top level of the Applications Folder to a sub-folder.
(If you prefer to download updates via Software Update in the Apple menu (which would ensure that the correct version for your Mac was being downloaded), it is not recommended to allow SU to install major (or even minor) updates automatically. Set Software Update to just download the updater without immediately installing it. There is always the possibility that the combined download and install (which can be a lengthy process) might be interrupted by a power outage or your cat walking across the keyboard, and an interrupted install will almost certainly cause havoc. Once it is downloaded, you can install at a time that suits you. You should make a backup copy of the updater on a CD in case you ever need a reinstall. Alternatively you can download Safari directly:

Input Managers and other plug-ins from third parties can do as much harm as good. They use a security loophole to reach right into your applications' code and change that code as the application starts up. If Safari is crashing, the very first thing to do is clear out your InputManagers folders (both in your own Library and in the top-level Library), log out and log back in, and try again.
So, disable all third party add-ons before updating Safari, as they may not have been updated yet for the new version. Add them back one by one. If something goes awry, remove it again and check on the software manufacturer's website for news of an update to match your version of Safari. Remember: Tiger up to 10.4.10 used Safari 2.0.4, Tiger 10.4.11 uses Safari 4.1.3, Leopard uses Safari 5.0.6, and Snow Leopard uses Safari 5.1.x. If these latest versions of Safari are not the fastest browser you have ever used, then something is wrong!
(Trying to revert to a previous version of Safari can have repercussions, as previous versions of Safari used a completely different webkit on which other applications like iChat, Mail, Dashboard Widgets etc also rely, but if you really want to do this post back for instructions on the safe way to do so.)
Most errors reported here after an update are due to an unrepaired or undetected inherent fault in the system, and/or a third party ad-on. Add-ons that have been frequently mentioned here, among others, for causing such problems are Piclens, Saft, AcidSearch and Pithhelmet, and the dreaded CT Toolbar. If you have them, trash them, and go the developer's sites to see if new versions are available for the latest version of Safari on your current operating system.
You must also ensure that you have downloaded and installed all the correct version for your Mac of Security Updates. These require a restart and a permission repair.
To reiterate, Input Managers reach right into an application and alter its code. This puts the behavior of the affected application outside the control and responsibility of its developers: a recipe for problems. That's not to say that issues absolutely will ensue as a result of Input Managers, but you, as a user, must decide. If the functionality of a specific Input Manager or set thereof is really important to you, you may well choose to assume the associated risk.
Again, the advice is to remove all Input Managers from the following directories:
Hard Disk/Library/InputManagers
Home/Library/InputManagers
especially prior to system updates and updates to Safari (they can always be added back one-by-one later).
Lastly, the Safari updates require a restart of your Mac, and sometimes even a double restart is required.
