Where is the MUSIC ONLY playlist???????????

I'm posting this again because I feel there is no other way to get the opinion heard. If you agree with this post, please respond with your thoughts.
I wake up in the morning and I just want to hit the shuffle button and play music while I get ready for work. But wait... I can't do this!!!!!!!!! My "Library" is now full of audio podcasts and video podcasts, TV episodes and Music videos.. oh yeah.. and Music.
Hmm this seems odd. I've got a Podcast library.. where in I can listen to only podcasts.... I've got a Video library where in I can view only video content. I've even got a radio library. And, of course, the LIBRARY which holds everything. However, there seems to be one library curiously missing from this MUSIC player... hmm what is it..... MY GOD! it's a MUSIC LIBRARY! The iTunes Music player is missing a MUSIC library!!!??? What the...... ! With all the excitement about Podcasts and Broadband video content.. The music is starting to take a back seat.. While I love all this new content, sometimes I just want to hear my good old music.
Don't tell me I've got to make some kind of gigantic playlist of all my music and update it whenever I add a new song? That would be a work around. Apple is known for being intuitive and easy to use... remember... "I'm a Mac"... "and I'm a PC".
So my point to Apple is, take this oversight and fix it. Please add a Music ONLY library to your iTunes Music player. Or some other feature that automatically lets the music be separated from all the other itunes content.
If you agree, please respond. Lets see if we can change the most popular music player in the world.
Rock on!

In addition to the Search Bar, I also make sure the "Skip when shuffling" option is checked for each and every podcast and video in my library. This way, even if I forget to select the Music tab in the Search Bar, I'm still guaranteed to never hear a podcst when I'm playing on shuffle.

  • Where are the local radio playlists/charts in the new iTunes 7.0.1.8?

Q: Where are the local radio playlists/charts in the new iTunes 7.0.1.8? I like to see what the local radio stations and surrounding markets are playing. I used this feature all the time in iTunes 6.
    A. I just found the answer, but I'll post this anyway. The "Radio" link was moved from the iTunes store home page. From the iTunes Store homepage you have to click on "Music" in the "iTunes Store" box. Then, go to the "More In Music" box and click on "Radio."

  • Where's the music on iTunes, and what's with the quality and compatibility?

I'm just curious as to whether anyone else has had this issue or not: Does anyone else feel like, after searching for specific songs, there's just little to nothing in the database? I feel like most of my searches are pointless because iTunes has either no data of my requested search and/or only has bits and pieces of it.
Another question I have: After having a slightly successful search, why am I left with low quality tunes? I mean, you can hear the compression... badly. (I know it's not my speakers)
Last question: If I'm paying for the song, shouldn't I be allowed to download a universal file? iTunes uses a unique format that no other application uses. In other words, more money has to be spend for m4a to mp3 converters (unless you're a cracker [not a racial comment]).
To me, I value iTunes and its team, so I'm sorry if I've offended anyone. I understand there are contracts involved with the artists and it's hard to please ALL of the subscribers. But seriously, where's the music on iTunes, and what's with the quality and compatibility?

Today I thought of finally putting lyrics on my songs. So I've been quite some time busy doing that, then I tried it on my iPad (2) and I can't find them. Just as the people above say. Then I went to search where I can find them and I found this page. I'm really dissapointed and I don't understand how something like this could happen. So I hope Apple will fix this soon.

  • Where is my music and playlists? Opened iTunes to find my music and playlists gone, as if I just loaded iTunes for the first time.

Running Windows 64 bit.  This has happened before.  It was running great for the last 8 months (including this morning), syncing no problem with a variety of Apple devices.  Opened it today and it is like I have a brand new iTunes loaded up with no music or playlists.
Please assist getting my music back and playlists (took hours to rebuild playlists last time).  Why does this happpen?

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

  • How to change tempo without affecting the music (only the grid)

This is a very basic problem. I have been laying songs (audio files) onto logic and recording vocals over them, and now that I am finished with the recording, i realize that in order to copy and paste the choruses EXACTLY throughout the songs, which can be quite arduous the way I have been trying to do it, one needs to have matched the proper tempo with the the music being used.
I neglected to do this at the start of these projects, and it has come back to bite me because when I try to change the tempo now, it completely throws my vocals out of whack because my voice is off beat. This is where the problem lies. I know had I addressed this at the beginning, I would be smooth sailing.
I also tried setting the tempo at the proper rate on a new logic project, but when I drag everything over from the original project, the same problem occurs.
In reality, I need the grid to match up so I have the proper means to line up my vocals exactly so the choruses are consistent throughout the song (obviously I can do it manually in a way regular listeners might not notice, but Im dissatisfied with that, I want it to be perfect)
Again, I know that if I had matched the tempo properly with the audio file (the music) at the beginning, there would be no problems, and I'd be able to record over it and then use the bars to align my vocals perfectly.
If some one would be so kind as to get back to me on this, it would be highly appreciated

    You're close!
1• Open the automation event list on a track that contains automation. You will now see what looks like a normal event list but it's displaying only the automation data on that track
2• Click the hierarchy arrow to take you "up a level" so that the automation event list (AEL) now shows you the names of all of the automation regions within the (hidden) automation arrange page. What you'll see is a list of items all starting at bar 1 1 1 1 called "Automation". (If the position of the items is not 1 1 1 1, you have a problem. See below).
3• Select All (CMD-A) and then use whatever method you prefer to SMPTE-lock them (menu item or key command)
    = OR =
Do Step #1. Then hit CMD-1 to open a new Arrange window. When you do this right after opening an AEL you will see the automation arrange page. Move the AEL out of the way or simply close it. Then, similar to Step #3, select all of the automation regions in the automation arrange page (CMD-A) and SMPTE-lock them.
Note: if your automation events are not all starting at 1 1 1 1 then it's an indication that your song's start marker was moved to before bar 1 and you're on your way to having a corrupted song.
Final caveat: don't attempt to write new automation while the old automation data is SMPTE-locked. It'll create a nice lil' mess. So after you're done changing the tempo (or whatever your reason for SMPTE-locking regions and automation), the first thing you should do is unlock them both before proceeding with any additional recordings. It's very easy to forget that the automation data is locked because you can't see that it's in a locked state unless you're looking at the AEL or the automation arrange page.

  • I want to download specific music to my IPad so i can access it offline.  Sync with iOS 8is not putting the music or playlists I have chosen on my computer onto my iPad.

I want to download specific music to my IPad so I can access it off line.  I have iOS 8 on my Mac mini and my pad.  The artists, albums and playlists I have selected to sync on my Mac mini do not show up on my iPad.  I am involved in international volunteer work and have periods where I don't have Internet access.

    Hello there, Wldsurfinslovakia.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up the steps on how to sync music, including playlists to your iOS device:
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod
    https://support.apple.com/kb/ht1535
Configure iPhone, iPad, or iPod for manual management
To manually manage the content, follow these instructions:
Connect the device to your computer.
    Open iTunes.
Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod. If your device isn't visible in the upper right corner of the screen, choose Library.
Click the Summary tab and select "Manually manage music and videos."
    Click Apply.
Even when you enable manual management, you can still sync some content automatically. Select the iTunes U, Podcasts, Photos, or Info tab to enable automatic syncing for that content.
Manually add or remove content on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod
After following the steps above, you can add individual songs, videos, and playlists from iTunes to your device. To add content to your device:
    Select your device.
    Click "On this Device."
Then choose "Add to" in the upper right corner.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • Where is the music coming from? It's not affiliated w/ any of my open web pages. Make it stop!

This only happens in MFF (I have 3.6). When the browser opens and the tabs begin loading, this horrible music starts playing. None of the sites I have in the tabs play music. All of my plug-ins seem to be Microsoft related. I have XP and my AV is Kaspersky and I run MFF in safe mode. Where is this music coming from and how can I get it to stop? Please help. Thank you in advance!

A week after my first call to AppleCare, I called again for help. This time the Tech was very helpful and she did not ask for additional $$.
My computer does not have an Airport card in it. To get my new Extreme-n to recognize my Express so that I can send iTunes wirelessly to my stereo, we spent an hour on the phone working through a manual setup. It included an initial hard-wired Ethernet connection to both Airports. It included manually copying the AirportID number from one device to the other, and then the reverse. It also took three different “hard-resets” of my Express. My “simple” Extreme-n to Express wireless connection is now working properly.
Kudos to my Tech; she was very knowledgeable and very patient.
Boos to Apple Extreme-n team for releasing a product without a comprehensive setup utility. This should have been a simple ten-minute set-up procedure, just like it was for my old Airport Extreme base station.
Bottom line: Keep calling AppleCare until you get a good Tech to help.

  • I pod shows up in i tunes but not the music or playlists on it

when i plug in the i pod it will show up and i can see the summary and everything but i cannot see the music or the play lists under the banner for the i pod in the left box. The summary shows all the used space on the i pod and my music is on it. i tried reseting the i pod and that didn't work.

Click on the chevron (the little triangle) to the left of the iPod icon in the Source list. This will display the various icons for the iPod itself, Music, Movies, TV Shows and Playlists. Click on Music and you'll see the traditional song view with all the tracks that are on the iPod.

  • HT4527 Where are the music I transferred with the Migration Assistant?

I used the Migration Assistant to move my music library on iTunes to a new one, and both my new Macbook and old computer said the music transfer worked. However, I can´t seem to find the music files on my Mac that I wanted to transfer. Where are they, and how can I move them into iTunes?

Log out, log in to the migrated account, locate the music, drag it to the /Users/Shared/ folder, and from there to the first account's home folder.

  • Where'd The Music Store CD Info go?

I have been loading CD's into iTunes for over a week now. For much of that time, I have been seeing info in the Music store which tied into whatever CD I was importing. For instance, if I was loading in a Pink Floyd CD, I would see info in the Music Store section about it and also info about Syd Barret, or other songs that were related as well as listener reviews etc.
But in the last few days, I see nothing but the words Music Store. No info. What did I do? Where did the info go?

Do you mean the little Music store at the bottom of iTunes that shows when you have something selected?

  • Where's the music?

I just got the iPod Classic 80GB for Christmas... it was great for the first week or so. As i started to add more music, I noticed that some songs did not get put onto my iPod; this kept happening more and more. I then realized that when my iPod was connected to my MacBook is showed that I had all the songs I was suppose to have... yet the majority of my music is not actually able to be played on my iPod. It is just skipped over or only plays the first couple of seconds. I have asked around, searched for answers without success.
Does anyone else have this problem?? Does anyone have a solution?? This is a brand new gift... and I would hate to have to tell my mom that she has to send it back to be replaced.

If the music is on the iPod but skips when you play it then you are probably looking at a bug that's been discussed elsewhere. The iPod seems to have a problem playing certain tracks. It appears to be related to minor inconsistencies in the way the files have been encoded and often shows up between 5 & 10 seconds into the song. The same tracks will play in iTunes and on other devices. The workaround seems to be to get iTunes to rencode the file, either in another codec (convert mp3 > aac or vice-versa) or at a different bit-rate. Keep your original files in case they fix it as any conversion will result in a small loss of quality.
