Where is the new interface/UI layout for Linux in FF 4?

I love the new Firefox 4 layout on my Windows PC in my office, with the new toolbar button and cleaned up interface in general.
I get home to my Linux PC and see that the UI is still the old ugly (by comparison) style. Added tab pinning is there, but otherwise the themeing and UI are not improved.
Is this coming?

You can hide the menu bar via a right click on a toolbar or via View > Toolbars to get the gray Firefox button on the tab bar. On Linux this button is on the left side of the tab bar and not on the title bar at the top.

The usual … Where is the new 10.5.8 for My Settings

Would it be possible to post a notice in this forum that a new OS version profile setting is available when the settings have been updated? This might help reduce the speculation but primarily it would serve as a reminder for users about keeping their profiles updated....

  • Where's the new interface???

I installed 4.2.1 and I still get the same interface as before. I got the Game Center and the Mute button is there and iTunes says that 4.2.1. is the operating system but no bar, no folders. Is there a switch I have to throw?

Not sure what you mean by bars - don't know of anything like that in the new iOS.
You have to create folders. Simple way to start - pick two apps you want in the same folder, drag one on top of the other, and it will create a folder. If they're from a similar category as determined by iTunes (ie Games), the folder will be named after that category - but then you can rename it. Once the folder is created, you can keep dragging apps into it.

  • Where is the new version of "Guidelines for XI Content Documentation"?

    Hi,
    I have the Version 1.3, May 2005
I need to document an integration scenario. At the moment we have service pack 11. A lot of keywords are not handled or available in that documention mentioned above.
Where to find a newer version of that document?

There doesn't seem to be one for iPad yet. There is an iOS 6 guide for iPhone. They are virtually the same.

I don't love it, but I don't dislike it either.  Between the two, at least initially, I think I prefer the previous interface.
I know that will be the case for me.

The new one is a little more Apple-like with icons instead of lists, but I liked having everything right on the screen before and now I have to scroll down to get to the icons below the tv screen view.
The old interface wasn't perfect but logical - as you say the icons are for the iPhone and iPad crowd, and as i see it will entail more scrolling and button hopping on the remote.
    J.T.Holloway wrote:
I do like the icon look as it is more like the iPad, iPhone, Dashboard, etc.
    Quelle surprise......
It's a bit like the redesign of these discussion fora - the new layouts are designed for the younger generation but far too much scrolling and hard work to find what you want compared to the old format.
    I HATE SCROLLINGTO FIND THINGS
    Sorry, rant over.

  • Where is the new update for N95 US Versions?

Where is the new update for N95-3 and N95-4? i have this two phones and i fell disappoint and mad becuz i bought this expensive cellphone and we have no support from Nokia.. this is no fair we are consumers like any other in the world. And the european model of N95 has a lot of updates and we r exent of the updates and support.. thats no fair my cellphone cost a lot of money and no support? only one update for year?.. my cellphone N95-4 compared to the European model is a garbage. Because the European added many things with update.. like autorotate and improve speed.. im about not to buy another Nokia because we have no support !! Nokia set aside the American market.
    THATS NO FAIR !!

Actually, it's the American market that set Nokia aside.
Nokia initially refused to allow network operators to customize their phones' firmware. Consequently, American network operators all but stopped buying Nokia phones. Nokia has since relented and does carry out a certain amount of trade in America now, but they're nowhere near as popular over there as they are elsewhere in the world.
Add their lower popularity in America to the fact that you all use different frequency bands from the rest of the world, which means a different set of hardware, and you begin to understand why the American market is a bit of a bugbear and why Americanised products are low priority. If American networks followed the same standards as elsewhere in the world you'd all benefit from the same updates.
Note that this is just personal speculation and not necessarily Nokia's official standpoint. I am not a Nokia employee.

Comments made on Input are collected by developers and the top requests will get worked into the next Firefox release. Although, you won't get a reply back, your comments DO get taken into consideration.
On a related note, are you actually here for support or did you want somewhere to get out your frustration with 29?<br>

  • The iPad is here, where is the new OS for the iPhone now?

Where is the new operating system for iPhone to go with the iPad?

My critiques of the iPad (in case Apple is listening)
    1) NAME
iPad? Didn't Apple do research to see that iPad was already a skit on SNL for feminine hygiene products? Let the non-stop mocking begin. Cancer research firm Enero 6 Corp. owns the domain iPad.com. iSlate is a much cooler name and Apple owns the domain iSlate.com according to MacWorld.
    2) LACK OF BUILT-IN iPHONE
If Apple wanted the iPad to be revolutionary, perhaps building the iPhone into the hardware would have made amazing jumps over other tablets and readers.
    3) MARRIAGE WITH AT&T
Apple didn't learn from the disaster of marrying AT&T and are likely continuing that exceptionally short sighted relationship, limiting customer base and interest since millions simply loathe AT&T - and with great passion - and will not leave their carriers.
    4) TWO SEPARATE DATA PLANS FOR iPAD/iPHONE USERS
Continuing with number three, Apple locks the iPad so that you must pay for wifi service. Is that in addition to your iPhone or part of the same package? Most likely different since AT&T charges per unit on the iPhone. Who really wants to pay for two different data plans to have an iPhone and iPad? I guess that's genius on Apple's part, they sell two items, though is there a kickback from AT&T for the data plans? Again, Apple limits their product line only to people willing to pay for one or possibly two data plans with one provider of service.
    5) MISSING FEATURES
Camera/iSight, iPhone, iWork & iLife. If they're going to market this as great for travel, why not include these functional applications so people can do work while taking the commuter train from NYC to Boston or DC?
    What else am I missing?

  • What's the new interface like?

I've read this about Logic going to a single-window interface, and I'm skeptical. How does this work out? Do we still have screensets? Can I still hit a trusty old Cmd-# combination to open a Matrix or Environment window? Is there a "Classic" interface option? Or does the new interface give you ready access to all the editing options that they've previously used multiple windows for?

    We all were.

Yes, and you can name them now.

Yes you can use your old Cmd-#. Just like you did before. The same commands work for the same windows. No classic interface needed. This one is much better (and I've been using it for two days straight.)

  • Search Bar and the new "Now Playing" layout

The search bar disappears after one time you try to search for something. This has been going on for at least a week with me now. Other people seem to have this problem, also.
Also, what's up with the new "Now Playing" layout? I loved it like it was previously. :/

Can't search now and it's ridiculously annoying. Not only that but no one from Spotify seems like they even care. No responses to any of the many complaints. What happened to caring about your customers? I can't even search for music on my music player that I pay for. No customer service number? Then at the very least be attentive to the only means of communication for your customers. Know what's worse than bad customer service? NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. REDICULOUS

  • How to update the recorded scripts as per the new interface

    Hi,
I am using E-tester 8.20 and generating the scripts by record and playback. Here my problem is how to update the scripts when new version of user interface (UI) comes. For example, page1 of UI has recorded with 5 text boxes. In the new version of UI, one more text box (6th text box) has been added and that is mandatory filed. So I have to update my scripts as per the new interface to enter a value in the 6th text box. Is there any way to do it? Any kind of help should be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Vinod

    Hi
Are you talking functional or load scripts?

  • The new interface

Hi, recently the user interface on the satnav app changed, instead of the numbers being on the left they are now spread accross the bottom of the phone.  Is the anyway to roll back to the old version of the app and will the be an option in future to toggle left/bottom for the numbers as I am very unhappy with this.
I know it may seem to some like a silly thing to get annoyed about but satnav and camera are the two main features I desire in a phone (as they call all call/email/text great these days) and I bought the 920 on launch as it was great in all these areas, if the satnav app had looked like this at launch I would have bought another phone, its a simple case of having to take your eyes off the road for longer to scan them (and mount the satnav higher) and the new interface basically sacrifices functionality for looking prettier

Have any of you noticed the new playlist icons and album art displays? What else have you seen thats new?
Yes, I agree they're nice in an informational sense, but the downside is a continuing creep to a very cluttered interface compared to software 1.0/1.1.
My better half will have no idea what half the icons mean as she doesn't touch iTunes to compile playlists herself.
