  • Where are the objects of the templates stored?

Virtually all hte themes in iweb 08 have little png files here and there. I know I can cpy form one them and past to another but I would really like to know where these files are kept! Their titles are generally given in the metrics ispector (such as star.png, for instance from the travel theme).
I do a spotlight search for star.png expecting a folder where template graphics are stored and find nothing! I would like to know where all these objects are so perhaps, as I create my own templates, I have one place to view what is available rather than opening each page within each theme individually just to see what kind of little stock graphics are included with iweb 08. I suppose i don't HAVE to know where these are but it's killing me that all these objects with file names cannot be searched and found anywhere on my mac! Any ideas? Thanks!

Spotlight doesn't seem to index items within .app packages, therefore it is quite useless to search anything inside a .app package (an application).
You need to get into Unix to get around this limitation, there are a few Unix CLIs to accomplish this... my favorite is locate (this also needs indexing)... a quick locate gave me these:
    /Applications/iWeb.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/Templates/About Me/Road Trip About Me.webtemplate/star.png
    /Applications/iWeb.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/Templates/Movie/Road Trip Movie.webtemplate/star.png
    /Applications/iWeb.app/Contents/Resources/Themes/Road Trip.webtheme/Shared/star.png
There you go, star.png is in Road Trip theme/template, there is no need for another app

  • Where is the Lightroom database?

I wonder whether it is correct that I have the following folders in my D:/drive:
    D:/Adobe
    - Lightroom 1.0
    - Adobe Photoshop Lightroom
    - documentation
    D:/ My Pictures
    - Lightroom
    - Backups
    - Lightroom CatalogPreviews.Irdata
    - Lightroom Metadata.Irdata
    (file) Lightroom Catalog (Ircat file)
I can not locate the original Lightroom Data base. There are data bases in the backups.

    Lee,
    Thanks for your reaction.
I was confused by the fact that on June 28 this file was called a LRDB and on July 6 a LRCAT, I assume because I updated to LR 1.1.
    * However I still wonder where I can locate the "Lightroom Database.lrdb.lock", which is referred to in the TechNote?
I Have LR with 1.1 running on laptop with Windows XP.
Plan to also place L.R. 1.1 on a new desktop with Vista Home Premium.
    * Can I install LR 1.1 by using the CD with LR program and thereafter update to 1.1?
In D:/My pictures/Lightroom I have the following sub folders:
    Backups
    Lightroom Catalog Previews.Irdata.
    Lightroom Metadata.Irdata
    Lightroom catalog
    * Do I just copy: D:/My pictures/Lightroom with its 4 sub folders to D:/ on the new PC?
Thanks in advance for your help!

  • Where should the Debug Database.txt file go for AE CS6 on windows 7?

    Hi,
I'm trying to use this work around to get cuda working when using aerender from the command line. It says to edit the Debug Database.txt, but I have searched my whole computer and it doesn't exist. So I guess I can create one in the right place, but I'm currently on windows and have no idea where to put it.
I know it should go in the preferences folder but where is that in windows 7?
    thanks

I strongly recommend against trying to do this. It is untested and unsupported. The article that you linked to is by someone who has tried this on a Mac, so there aren't even examples out there of someone doing this on Windows.
No Adobe employee is going to help you to use this untested and unsupported hack using a debug database flag that was added for internal development purposes.

  • Where is the iCal database located on the Hard-Disk?

Can someone please tell me where the iCal data is stored on the Hard-Disk?
    Im using OS 10.4.11.
Recently after upgrading to iTunes 8.1 and syncing with my iPhone the iCal database got corrupted, every day is filled with past entries recurring forever. (this is described in another thread).
Anyway I found a year old back-up of my User folder in an external H/D so if I cant fix my current iCal database I will replace it with the year-old back-up.
However when I moved what I thought were the iCal data Folders to trash (i.e User/Library/Application Support/iCal and User/Library/Caches/Metadata/iCal) and restarted iCal, after a few moments all the entries reappeared! Obviously the data is also being stored elsewhere other than in these two folders, but I cant figure out where... Does anyone know where the data is stored?
    Thanks!

    Hi firoze,
Although I don't know where the database is stored, I did figure out a way to my problem as follows, but it requires that you have a reasonably recent backup of your hard disk, and also an alternative startup disk. (In my case, the backup was also bootable thanks to Superduper.)
Fortunately, I had recently backed up all the files from my internal hard disk onto an external disk. However, I had never run iCal's own "File > Back up Database..." routine.
First, (This did not work.) I tried opening a backed up copy of iCal.app that was on a Firewire backup disk, while still booted from the (corrupted) internal HD. It however, gets its database from the boot disk, and so the same garbage appears in the calendar.
    The following did work:
    (1) I restarted with the "option" key held down, and booted from a backup disk.
    (2) Then I launched the backed-up iCal.app, and it looks fine.
    (3) Next, I ran "File > Back up Database..." in the backed up iCal, and saved the iCal backup in a file accessible to both disks.
    (4) Next, I restarted again, this time from the usual internal hard disk, which contains the corrupted iCal.
    (5) I started the corrupted iCal residing on the internal disk which had been problematical. Of course, the garbage still shows up on the calendar.
    (6) Now I went to the "File > Revert to Database Backup..." and pointed to the newly created iCal backup file.
This worked! However, I was fortunate in having had a recent backup of my working disk, and I had a boot disk.
For the near future, until Apple fixes the bug, I will run iCal's "File > Back up Database..." each time BEFORE I sync with iPhone. (Or, if the iTunes sync tells me that it will change more than 5% of my calendar items, I could click cancel.)
I will also post this on the other two threads related to this subject.

  • Where is the Object/Merge tool

I've watched the online video that demonstrates how to change drawing mode of objects in Flash CS4. I tried to locate the Object/Merge tool that's demonstrated on the toolbar in my version of Flash and it's not there. Do I need to make a setting elsewhere to make this tool appear?
Can anyone suggest a reason why I may be missing a tool? I've attached a screen capture of the toolbar.
    Thanks.
    Grace Daminato

Never mind - I played around some more and discovered that the Object/Merge tool appears if I select the rectangle (or ellipse) tool instead of the rectangle primitive.
    Thanks you.
    Grace

  • Where is the online database of lens profiles

How do I find out which profiles have been downloaded by individuals for lens profiles? Do I have to be within Camera Raw, or within Photoshop CS5(please state which) and hit "search online database" at the bottom of the menu? Please explain.
    Thanks.

Thank you Dorin, you are absolutely correct and I did the search database from CS5,
    Thanks,

  • Where is the kerberos database stored?  Why doesn't kadmin -l dump work?

I'm trying to figure out where exactly OS X Server stores the passwords when using Open Directory.  Is it in LDAP?  Is it the authAuthority attribute that's in LDAP?  I don't know a whole lot about Kerberos and I was trying to figure it out and I can't seem to get this question answered.  There is such a void of documentation concerning Open Directory.  Do you think Apple intends on killing it some day?
And `kadmin -l dump` says "kadmin: hdb_foreach: iteration over database only supported for DSLocal".  Does anyone know how to dump the database?

    sudo ktutil list
will at least list the principles, Not quite what you wanted, but i may be useful anyway.
If you go into Server and select Open Directory, one option is to "Archive Open Directory Master..."
That creates a password protected (encrypted) sparseimage (disk image). If you mount that, you will see a volume called /Volumes/ldap_bk that looks like
    $ ls -alhFG /Volumes/ldap_bk/
    total 4640

  • Where did the object guides go?

I just upgraded to CS5 (from CS3) and one of the things I really liked was that in placing an object on a page there would appear guides showing me if it was centered or not. For some reason today, that has disappeared and I can't figure out how to get it back. Perhaps I somehow turned it off but don't know how.
    Any ideas?

You've probably turned off the smart guides.  Go View > Grids & Guides > Smart Guides, or Ctrl + U.

  • Where is the stickies database stored on a backup HD

I recently had to wipe my hard drive clean on my MacBook pro. It is running 10.9.4
I  use time machine to back everything up. Now I want to transfer my pictures, sticky notes and music files from the back up hard drive to the laptop. I'm having all sorts of trouble fining them. And I did force a back up the night before I the laptop was wiped cleaned and had the OS reinstalled. I just don't know where the files are located, on the backup hard drive, and where to put them, on the laptop. Can someone please help?
    Thanks,

Why don't you simply migrate.. then you don't need to worry.. the migration software will move all the info to the required locations.
Although this is a little out of date, ie up to Mountain Lion it is still packed with helpful info.

  • Logical Database design and physical database implementation

    Hi
I am an ORACLE DBA basically and we started a proactive server dashboard portal ,which basically reports all aspects of our infrastructure (Dev,QA and Prod, performance, capacity, number of servers,No of CPU,decomissioned date,OS level,Database patch level) etc..
This has to be done entirely by our DBA team as this is not externally funded project. Now i was asked to do " Logical Database design and physical Database
    implementation"
Even though i know roughly what's that mean(like designing whole set of tables in star schema format) ,i have never done this before.
In my mind i have a rough set of tables that can be used but again i think there is lot of engineering involved in this area to make sure that we do it properly.
I am wondering you guys might be having some recommendations for me in the sense where to start?are there any documents online , are there any book on this topic? Are there any documents which explain this phenomena with examples ?
Also exactly what is the difference between logical database design vs physical database implementation
    Thanks and Regards

Logical database design is the process of taking a business or conceptual data model (often described in the form of an Entity-Relationship Diagram) and transforming that into a logical representation of that model using the specific semantics of the database management system. In the case of an RDBMS such as Oracle, this representation would be in the form of definitions of relational tables, primary, unique and foreign key constraints and the appropriate column data types supported by the RDBMS.
Physical database implementation is the process of taking the logical database design and translating that into the actual DDL statements supported by the target RDBMS that will create the database objects in a target RDBMS database. This will generally include specific physical implementation details such as the specification of tablespaces, use of specialised indexing (bitmap, clustered etc), partitioning, compression and anything else that relates to how data will actually be physically stored inside the database.
It sounds like you already have a physical implementation? If so, you can reverse engineer this implementation into a design tool such as SQL Developer Data Modeller. This will create a logical design by examining the contents of the Oracle data dictionary. Even if you don't have an existing database, Data Modeller is a good tool to use as a starting point for logical and even conceptual/business models.
If you want to read anything about logical design, "An Introduction to Database Systems" by Date is always a good starting point. "Database Systems - A Practical Approach to Design, Implementation and Management" by Connolly & Begg is also an excellent reference.

  • SIMPLE Database Design Problem !

Mapping is a big problem for many complex applications.
So what happens if we put all the tables into one table called ENTITY?
I have more than 300 attributeTypes. And there will be lots of null values in the records of that single table as every entityType uses the same table.
Other than wasting space if I put a clustered index on my entityType coloumn in that table. What kind of performance penalties to I get?
    Definition of the table
    ENTITY
    EntityID > uniqueidentifier
    EntityType > Tells the entityTypeName
    Name >
    LastName >
    CompanyName > 300 attributeTypes
    OppurtunityPeriod >
PS:There is also another table called RELATION that points the relations between entities.

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
check the coloumn with WHERE _entityType='PERSON'
as there is is clustered index on entityType...there
    is NO performance decrease.
there is also a clustered index on RELATION table on
    relationType
when we say WHERE _entityType ='PERSON' or
    WHERE relationType='CONTACTMECHANISM'.
it scans the clustered index first.it acts like a
table as it is physically ordered.I was thinking in terms of using several conditions in the same select, such as
    WHERE _entityType ='PERSON'
AND LastName LIKE 'A%' In your case you have to use at least two indices, and since your clustered index comes first ...
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Have you ever thought of using constraints in your
modell? How would you realize those?
...in fact we did.We have arranged the generic object
model in an object database. The knowledge information
is held in the object database. So your relational database is used only as a "simple" storage, everything has go through your object database.
But the data schema is held in the RDBMS with code
generation that creates a schema to hold data.If you think that this approach makes sense, why not.
But in able to have a efficent mapping and a good
performance we have thought about building only one
table. The problem is we know we are losing some space
but the thing is harddisk is much cheaper than RAM
and CPU.So our trade off concerated on the storage
cost. But I still wonder if there is a point that I
have missed in terms performance?Just test your approach by using sufficiently data - only you know how many records you have to store in your modell.
PS: it is not wise effective using generic object
models also in object databases as CPU cost is a lot
when u are holding the data.I don't know if I'd have taken your approach - using two database systems to hold data and business logic.
PS2: RDBMS is a value based system where object
databases are identity based.we are trying to be in
the gray area of both worlds.Like I wrote: if your approach works and scales to the required size, why not? I would assume that you did a load test with your approach.
What I would question though is that your discussing a "SIMPLE Database Design" problem. I don't see anything simple in your approach when it comes to implementation.

how could we get the report of previous five years sale of the products.
    SELECT trunc(sale_date, 'YYYY'), sum(sale_qty)
    FROM   sales
    WHERE  sale_date >= add_months(sysdate-60)
    GROUP  BY trunc(sale_date, 'YYYY')
suggest whether dropped Product name from the sale table as I already have a column prodid in it?Yes. Duplicated data is a Bad Thing. This is Rule #1 of the late Dr. Codd's 12 rules. These are the foundationstones of good relation design. Wikipedia has a good introduction to them.

  • Database design steps

    Hi all,
I am new to learn the oracle database design. Please anyone can give me the steps/procedure that we can easily to design the new oracle database.?
    regards,
    samurai

Are you referring to physical database design (disk layouts, file locations etc.) or logical database design (schema, table structures, indexes etc.)?
Based on your requirement, the answer will change.
But simply stated, it would be better if you could take a course from local universities or colleges which have database design as part of IT curriculum. It is not possible to summarize database design in a few lines.

  • Dependent Permission database design

I want to know your thoughts regarding dependent permission database design.
The dependent database design that I refer to comes from the below link:

Please put http:// in front of the office.microsoft.com. I cannot put the link due to my account verification issue
How should I implement the permission and its dependent permission like the one shown in the above url in database.
I am planning to create similar structure for .NET and SQL Server app
