Where is the "plus" symbol in each tab at the top

each tab had a plus sign to the right of the tab to open a new tab and mine disappeared

I had the same problem, to get it back you just need to right click on the tab bar, click customise, then drag the new tab plus sign symbol to the end of the tab bar. When you click done it will attach itself on to the end of the last tab as before.

Where is the top of firefox?!

The buttons on the top right ("X" "_"etc) are missing, and the top left button ("firefox") has 4 arrows instead of one. I recently had to uninstall and reinstall firefox and when I reinstalled it this happened. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling once more, the problem has persisted. The entire top bar seems to be missing, it was cut off. When I put it into full screen the problem goes away.
my computer was running slow so I decided to restore it a few weeks back when I had installed a program.
I had to reinstall firefox 4 (as it is pretty recent) when I opened it this problem popped up, I closed and opened it again, still there. I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox and again, still there.
Also, when the bar comes up asking if I want the password for a site remembered it has the four down arrows instead of one and the middle of the button is missing and the remaining distorted and skewed.
My tabs also have no way of closing them down. While playing around trying to find other problems I found out that in the "customize" page where you customize the buttons you want and the little lines and such, that page is SCREWED up! lol. its showing multiple of each icon and many are distorted or skewed much like the 'remember password' drop down. after that i had noticed that many of my saved icons were cut out as well, I don't remember which ones they were but they're still missing. and lastly, (as far as I found) in the navigation bar has an obnoxious bar cutting through the star button and the down arrow button, and the down arrow button is clearly out of place and skewed.
Wait never mind, one more problem! There is a small brown arrow underneath the space in between the first and second tab.

Thanks. And yeah I figure out the favorites were bookmarks, but all my old favorites didn't get transferred. NO big deal though, easy enough to rebuild anew. Where is the top banner picture of the "default " server homepage stored?

I have set up a Mac Mini Server Snow Leopard and it's running fine. I'm hosting my own page and I kind of like the "look" of the "server hompage"/update where the three boxes to choose from appear. The only thing I would like to do is to change the top banner "Mac OS X Server". Anyone know where this is stored so I can chnage only that?

Me again! The "/default" shouldn't be there of course. Just the top banner you see when going to the index file.

Just got a Mac Mini. I can't seem to get the top toolbar to appear. Is it no longer on the new OS ?

Should be there. Try restarting the computer. If that doesn't work, then reinstall OS X.
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.

Where is the top part of iTunes?

I just updated the iTunes and now the top part of the iTunes window is gone. It doesn't show the song or time or any of that. The three dots on the left side are gone too. Sorry, not sure what those are called.

Amazon Website - Where's the top of the page?

I am using Safari, and when I go to Amazon, the Amazon heading and search box that used to appear is gone. I have no idea what happened, but could someone tell me if there is a setting in Mac OS to fix this?

Thanks for the reply, Matt. The actual Amazon search bar on the Amazon website, not the Safari add-on/extension. I don't think the page width is the problem. Also, using Firefox, the page displays normally.
I thought it might be some kind of setting with Growl or Glims, but did not see anything relating to Amazon.

Downloaded latest version of safari and it wont open properly only the top of the page open???

i was running safari on my ibook and all of a sudden it stoped working it wouldnt load the page only the top of the page would load. so i went to firefox but when i stream videos of firefox they always seem to be jumpy. so i have recently downloaded the latest safari again and i am still having the same problem as before where only the top of the page ill load?? i have the latest updates of osx 10.5.8. i believe its something to do with my computer???

How to get my company in the top company list?

Hello all,
My name is there in the top contributor list for Solution Manager. But I can't see my company in the top company list for Solution Manager. I am pretty sure its not because of the points as I myself have more points than some of the companies listed there.
I also checked some previous forum post . As per them, if I maintain my e mail id as my company id and maintain the company name in my profile it should work. But its not working for me. Any idea?

I just checked that you are the second highest contributor to SolMan with 106 points in the last 30 days.
But your company name appears no-where in the top list for that area.
Have you updated your email address to the new corporate one very recently - like yesterday or today?
If yes, then please wait for a day or two.

Why does the website bar no longer show on firefox and why am i no longer able to get a search engine and firefox symbol/logo on each tab i open.

All the other versions of firefox used to have a website bar on the top and you used to be able to open a new tab and have multiple websites open at a time and on each one you opened get a firefox symbol/logo and a search engine or website bar however that's no longer the case I don't know if its the new version or not. I used to also be able to do a search and open multiple websites in multiple tabs however that's no longer the case I don't know if its a bug or if its something new with firefox or newer versions.

Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
* If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
* If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
* If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.

FireFox 4 - why are my app tabs large and why do I not have a new app tab - the one with the plus symbol

I just downloaded FireFox 4 and my tab bar at the top does not look like it should. The tabs are all large, I want just a small tab. I'm also missing the new tap - the one with the plus symbol.

I just installed Firefox 4 and I had the same problem. To fix this is simple. You must drag the "add tab" from the modify toolbar options. If you do not see the add tab from within the modify toolbar options container. It's probably that it's already resting on the personal toolbar (just below the home icon). If so, drag the add tab icon to the main tab toolbar and the plus (+) tab will apear.

Discover Plus - Export to Text Tab delimited is not exporting all the rows

Hi gurus,
I am trying to export a large data report which has 1 million plus rows to text tab delimited. The export takes 9 plus hours to export and the data is not more than 100000.
My question is
1. How can I make the discoverer to export it quicker or rather faster to tab delimited.
2. Where can I change the number of rows to be exported.
Any help, suggestions is appreciated.

Yes. The text tab delimited export is taking lot of time. The total rows for this report are nearly 1 million. If I break down the report with condition and export it I was able to export it ( three files exported with 212000, 103000 and 687000 rows respectively).
But I m still having problems exporting it in one shot. Is there any way I could resolve this? Please let me know.

That depends on where you are... In the state of New Jersey, where I live, I believe that it is legal to record a conversation if at least one party to that conversation knows that it is being recorded, and there is no legal duty to inform the other party that the conversation is being recorded.
This means that I could legally record all conversations I have with other people within the state of NJ, and likewise anybody whom I call or who calls me can record out conversations. However, it would be illegal for a third party to record out conversation without our knowledge and consent.
Now the situation becomes more complex if I call somebody, or somebody calls me, across state lines... I've not made a study of the laws in every state, but I would not be surprised if there are states where both parties must give consent for the conversation to be recorded. This is probably the reason for the announcement "your call may be monitored and recorded for quality purposes" at the beginning of every call to customer support...

An " " symbol at the top of each JavaHelp page?

Hello all,
I have generated JavaHelp off an imported Word 2007 document on a Windows 7 box. Interestingly, an unsightly ">" (the greater than sign) is appearing at beginning of each help page when ported to my Fedora 13/Linux box. The preview of the JavaHelp on the Windows 7 machine (where I generated the JavaHelp) does not show this ">" at the top of each help page.
Any idea why the unexpected ">" is showing up at the top of each help page on Fedora/Linux box?

I'm also using version 9. I didn't have to set the JAVA_HOME variable. After I reinstalled RoboHelp and compiled my JavaHelp project for the very first time, it asked me where my Java and JavaHelp were installed (in two separate prompts after I clicked Save and Generate). After that, the > at the top of each file went away. However, when I did a search, it was still displaying the title of each of my search results as:
10 > >
5 > >
2 > >
When I compiled to a clean directory, this was fixed and again displayed the actual page title instead of the > symbol.

in firefox 4.x there is a toolbar button for new tab, where is the button in firefox 6.x?
can this be downloaded as a add-on or theme?

You can find the New Tab button showing as a '+' on the Tab bar.
You can open the Customize window and drag the New Tab button that shows as a plus sign (+) from the Tab bar on another toolbar and it will become a regular toolbar button like the New Tab button that you have in Firefox 3 versions.
If you can't find the New Tab button then click the "Restore Default Set" button in the Customize window.
If you want the New Tab button at the far right end of the Tab bar then place a flexible space to the left of it.
