Where is the power dvd dolby digital ex dts download?

can anyone tell me where to find the download for dolby digital dts power dvd for x fi extreme gamer soundcard? is this lost in cyberspace? please help me find my way. thanks, Andy.

When you play a movie the thing i like about the xfi soundcard is a small feature that creative introuced it tells me the audio stream its playing (an icon at the bottom near the clock) and it only displays for a few seconds.
Most moi'ves i brough advertise Dolby digital EX or DTS ES. When i play them i find mostly the creative decoder tells me otherwise. The creative decoder identifies the stream and displays it at the bottom and i find that most movies that advertise the DTS ES or DD EX are not Dolby digital EX or DTS ES but just dolby digital 5. or DTS 5.. The only movies i have so far that are dolby digital EX are starwars episode 5 and 6 (despite ,2,3 and 4 claim to be but not), the punisher, and the only DTS 6. so far is top gun (my movie collection is small as well). but unless the creative decoder is identiftying the audio streams wrong which i doubt i so far. only some of my movies state the correct audio stream on the dvd.
Have a look at the icon that appears when playing the movie and see if it says either dolby digital, dolby digital ex, dts surround or dts surround es, if its displays either Dolby Digital EX or DTS Surround ES then they are 6. streams if they are not then they are 5. which might be why your not hearing anything out the back speaker.Message Edited by Stargazer on 0-06-2006 :5 AM

No DVD Dolby Digital surround sound in media player or media center in Windows 7

I mirrored my working config from my Vista 32 bit install into my Windows 7 64 bit install and a Windows 7 32 bit install, but can't get the Dolby Digital SPDIF coax output to work (just get static) in my Windows 7 install when playing a DVD.
Notes:
- Both Vista and Windows 7 are on the same PC, but on different partitions of the same hard drive.
- standard stereo output works fine in Windows 7
- Dolby Digital and DTS do work in Windows 7, but only in the Sound config window, not in any program.
I have the latest Creative Audigy 2 ZS Soundblaster Windows 7 drivers installed (Creative Sound Blaster Audigy series driver 2.18.0011).
Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the Dolby Digital / DTS output to work Windows 7 when playing a DVD?
MY PC SPECS:
CPU : Intel® Pentium® D 820 Processor (Dual-Core)64-bit processor with Intel® EM64T Technology. Each core operates at 2.80GHz | 2 x 1MB L2 cache | 800MHz FSB

Please try the following to check the S/PDIF device:
1.    Go to “Control Panel\Hardware and Sound” and click “Sound”.
2.    In the opened dialogue box, switch to the “Playback” tab, right-click on the box listing the current devices, select Show Disabled Devices and see if the item “Digital Audio (S/PDIF)” will appear. If it appears, please enable it and set it as Default Device and see if it works.
Considering the issue is related to the specific hardware, it is also recommended that you contact Creative and see if they have any constructive suggestions.

Dolby Digital or DTS 5.1 sound on ATV

Does anyone knows if ATV supports dolby digital or DTS (both at 5.1)? I'm thinking about placing all my DVD's on a external hard drive to be able to see the movies using the ATV, but in every blog/forum that I read, there isn't a direct answer do this question.
If it is possible what is the best way (format) to use? Some programs that perform this kind of operation they have the built in option "apple tv", but it doesn't say if it will play at 5.1. Can anyone help me?

dolby digital 5.1 is supported for video playback.
however, discussing the importing (or ripping) of DVDs is not permitted here i'm afraid.

NO Dolby Digital or DTS- Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum

So after doing a clean install from Win XP to 7 PRO I now no longer can get dolby digital or dts through my speakers via toslink (optical, whatever u want to call it) . I have the latest win 7 drivers, tried reinstalling drivers using compatability mode (vista sp2), and configured it to play on on only digital outputs, spidf decode, set spdif output as my default device, set speakers to 5., and all combinations of that.
I am also using the k lite codec pack and playing videos using media player classic.
However, If i test dolby digital through? windows sound options it will detect and play the sample sound in dolby digital but my movies, etc will not when play through MPC.
PLEASE HELP!

? You are needing to do AC-3 passthrough and you may want to use the Shark Codec Pack instead of K-Lite. Instructions for Shark's pack are here:

DVD Studio Pro seams to support HD-DVD, but in actual fact it gives you the opportunity to create SD disc but in HD resolution.
I know that the HD-DVD is readable in HD-DVD Players, that's not what i'm talking about, i'm talking about the interactive part that comes with HD-DVD and all the new features that DVD Studio Pro never heard about them, Like:
1. 256-Color Subpictures (Don't want the photoshop layers - SLOW)
2. Menus with Multiple Subpicture and Audio Streams
3. Support for 64 General Parameter Registers (Yeah, I know I can split to partitions)
4. 8 Commands per Button (Not script and scripts and scripts)
and more...
and don't thing I forget the BluRay and the BD-J (the java programing)...

i dont mean to drill you Doron, but it's my opinion that DVD SP, a lot of consumer/prosumer DVD authoring apps, and to a lesser degree Apple have really spoiled us!
i have read all the hype, all the in-depth interviews and all the rumors on the new HD formats, and i must it's quite impressive.
however, like it was stated on this thread, this technolog is still NEW, shoot, they havent even finalized the spec!
it hasnt been that long since they started shipping HD-DVD players and just started with Blu-Ray!
if you had ANY idea how HARD, COMPLEX AND TIME CONSUMING it is to even ENCODE VIDEO for HD, not alone AUTHORING all the advanced features you would be humbled!
also, all the HD-DVD's out there today dont even BEGIN to scratch the surface of what this new format has promised to do!
shoot, sony is using high bit-rate mpeg2! WHERE IS AVC!!!?? ( i know where it is, im just saying on discs).
i would HATE to see apple RUSH into any the HD DVD or BR market without extensive testing. i mean i LOVE, LOVE, LOVE DVDSP with a passion, but being realistic about it, it can use some modification, it works though (i know, total contradiction)!

won't bore you with the details why but before I buy a macbook air I would like to know what part of the machine the power cable goes in to please?

WHERE DID THE POWER GO?!?

I woke up this morning and couldn't access my Airport... so I came upstairs to check it and it wasn't on. So I checked everything else plugged into that surge protector was on and running fine, including the modem that I'm currently plugged into. I unplugged it and walked around the house plugging it in to different plugs to see if I could get a response but no dice.
It's been storming VERY badly today... could there have been a surge and it JUST hurt the Base rather then: The Base, a monitor, a modem, and a wireless mouse charge? It's just too weird. Right now it's just sitting unplugged in hopes that it will come on whehn I plug it in later.
HELP! Should I call Customer Support and send it in?

I just picked up Apple's latest aluminum keyboard for my MacMini (which I've had all of 4 weeks). This being my first Mac I'm somewhat clueless, but didn't Mac's used to have the power button on the keyboard? I can't seem to find said button anywhere on this keyboard. I've been using a spare Dell keyboard up till now.
Is there no longer a powerbutton on Mac keyboards?

And even if you did have a power button (as I do since I use an older Apple keyboard) it still won't power the mini up.... or indeed down. When off, pressing it does nothing, while when running, pressing the power button merely brings up the Restart, Sleep Cancel, Shutdown dialog. Better than nothing perhaps, but not in the same league as the rather cool startup and shutdown it used to perform on older (much older) Macs!

Where's The Tutorial DVD?

The "Installing Your Software" pamplet mentions a DVD called "Logic Studio Demo Songs and Tutorials" DVD.
My package didn't have this DVD. Instead it has a DVD called "Demo Content" which has demo songs, but no tutorial content.
Did anybody get the tutorial DVD or did Apple ship only the "Demo Content" DVD?
I was looking forward to this DVD as it is supposed to play in a normal DVD player.
What's your take?

Installing second drive - where is the power cord?

I am trying to install a second drive on my Quad. I see the data jumper but don't see a jumper for the power. Am I missing something?

Actually solved this one myself . After searching and searching for the cord under the drive bay (convinced it was missing) I looked ABOVE the and saw that there is a second power connector attached the drive in the upper bay. You have unplug that connector, drop it down to the bottom drive and plug the second connector into the drive in the upper bay.
All is now well.

Any Dolby Digital Live/DTS Connect support?

I'm just wondering if there were any products (USB/Firewire preferred, but PCI also) that support Dolby Digital Live and/or DTS Connect? Specifically, a product that will output bitstream AC3 or DTS to a home theater receiver via SPDIF?
(and I don't mean simply passing thru a DVD's AC3 or DTS, I mean outputting all system sound via transcoding to AC3/DTS bitstreams)
I've got a bgears b-enspirer for a PC, but I'd rather use a Mac for home theater and possibly World of Warcraft..

I have a Griffin FireWave. These are no longer made but may still be available if you search. It is a firewire device which give you 6 (5.1) channels of audio output. The outputs are direct speaker connections (L/R C/S LS/RS), so you need to be sure your home theatre system accepts these. It does NOT have optical outputs to a home theatre system and I think it's unlikely that you'll even find something which does.
The FireWave is a great device. It allows me to choose 5.1 audio output in Audio Midi Setup. It can then be driven in 5.1 mode by suitably written applications, and it also gives me full surround sound when I play a DVD.
I have seen some similar USB devices, but none of them claim to be Mac compatible - which seems rather odd to me!
