Where is the Product key of Apple Mobile Device support?

Where is the Product Key of a iPhone 4?

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Mobile Device Support entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Where is the link to download apple mobile device USB driver software

I need to download apple mobile device USB driver software but can't find it onlie. Advice where i can download it from much appreciated.

I had the same problem with my iTouch when I upgraded to iTunes 10. I'm not sure if my problem was the same as with the nano but every time I reinstalled iTunes and plugged in my Touch, I got an error message for driver installation and the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver in Device Manager with a little yellow exclamation mark. The error message that came up stated something about the digital signature of the driver not being right. The fix that worked for me was as follows:
Delete the 2 Apple Mobile Device USB Driver files. If you right click on the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver in Device Manager and select properties it will tell you where they are located in the windows folder. My 2 files for windows 7 64 bit were:
    usbaapl64.sys
    usbaaplrc.dll
With ipod disconnected, restart computer and press F8 to enter boot menu.
Select boot option without digital driver signature support.
After boot, connect ipod and driver should automatically install correctly without error.
    Good Luck
I called Apple and they would not provide any unpaid support for iTunes issues.

  • Failed to load Apple Mobile Device Support

I updated to the latest iTunes and I keep receiving this error message. In order to fix it I've tried:
    Restarting the Windows Service
    Uninstalling Apple Mobile Device Support
    Different USB cables
    Different USB ports
    Reinstalling iTunes
    Restarting my iPhone
    Restarting Windows
Nothing fixes it. My iPhone is no longer recognized by iTunes or other products such as iFunbox or PhoneClean. The iPhone will charge via PC, but that is it. The only other thing I can think of trying is reformatting my PC....
Again, this all started after I installed the newest iTunes. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I had a similar (but strange) problem yesterday after installing (via Update prompt) iTunes 12.1. Everything looked OK but I found that my wife's iphone 4S wasn't detected by iTunes, but strangely my iphone 4S was.  Checked cable (same cable), checked connecting port on both phones, everything OK. Both phones were detected by Windows (8.1 64 bit). Decided to reboot both phones and the PC. Made no difference.  However, sometimes MY phone wasn't being detected either.
Finally I deleted iTunes following this set of instructions http://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT1925 and reinstalled iTunes from a fresh download. Everything now working OK.
Make sure you follow the sequence of uninstall processes before reinstalling.
    Hope this helps.

  • Apple Mobile Device Support Will NOT Install - Win 8 OS

I uninstalled EVERYTHING Apple...all folders, all apple software. I went through my computer and everything was removed. I did not go through the registry and remove anything so that may be where the problem is.
I looked in programs and features and there is no "Apple Mobile Device Support" installed.
It's as if it will not install, no matter what I do.
I think it may be a registry issue in Win 8 but not sure.
I have looked all over for a solution but to no avail. I uninstalled everything, reinstalled iTunes, I even tried to installed the .exe specifically for Apple Mobile Device Support and it rolled back, refusing to install it.  I have tried updating drivers. My iPhone does show up in Task manager as well.
    Under device manager, my iPhone
I follwed this >link< and did exactly what it said to do but still didn't work.
I have a feeling there is no solution to this one. Any other suggestions?   Is there a way to remove more apple software including in the registry?
I appreciate any feedback.  If anybody else has had this issue and have a proven method to resolve it, PLEASE share.
    Thanks again!

I have the same problem with Win7. Did uninstall so many times now I can do it in my sleep. I did one thing which seemed to work for a while. After I uninstalled itunes 11, I reinstalled the earlier version. That brought back the Apple Mobile Device Support feature. Then I updated itunes to the latest version. Then I get the same message about amds not the latest version and uninstall itunes etc...(evern though when I check amds IS the latest version). It's a merry go round. Can't sync my iphone 4s or iPad 3. I finally got rid of itunes 11.1.1. Guess I just have to sit back and wait for a while until the new version comes out or until someone figures out a solution.

  • Apple Mobile Device Support Error in iTunes 8.2.0.23 FIX

Okay, after I installed the 8.2.0.23 version of iTunes and tried to plug in my iPhone, I got a message stating essentially that the version of Apple Mobile Device Support is wrong, and to uninstall AMDS and iTunes and reinstall them. Of course, after doing that, it still gave the error.
After hours of trying things and coming up with nothing with Apple Tech Support, this finally fixed the problem. I don't know if it'll help anyone, but if it does, great!
    You will need:
    1. The previous version of iTunes - 8.1.1
    http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.php
    2. The current version of iTunes - 8.2
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download
    3. WinRAR
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
This is what I did that worked:
    1. Delete the folder "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support"
    2. Using WinRAR, extract "applemobiledevicesupport.msi" from the 8.1.1 iTunes installer file to your desktop.
    3. Run applemobiledevicesupport.msi to install the previous version of Apple Mobile Device Support. This won't jive with iTunes 8.2. If you try to run it, you'll just get the old error message.
    4. Using WinRAR, extract "applemobiledevicesupport.msi" from the 8.2 iTunes installer file to your desktop overwriting the old version.
    5. Run applemobiledevicesupport.msi to intstall the new version of AMDS over the previous version.
    6. Start up iTunes.
    7. Plug in iPhone
It should now recognize the device.
Let me know if it works for ya!
    Erik

    Hi Erik,
Your basic suggestion actually worked for me. But this is what I did for others who are having issues removing/installing etc.
    1. Download the latest iTunes 8.2. You should end up with a file iTunesSetup.
    2. If you dont already have WinRAR, download free copy from http://www.rarlab.com/ and install.
    3. Right click on iTunesSetup and choose "Extract" to somewhere you know. eg C:\itunetemp
    4. Open up folder where you extracted iTunesSetup and double-click applemobiledevicesupport.msi
    5. It should ask you if you want to repair or remove... choose remove.
    6. REBOOT your PC.
    7. Go back to where you extracted iTunesSetup and double-click applemobiledevicesupport.msi and go through the install.
    8. Plug in your iPhone.
If all is well iTunes should automatically start and start syncing your iPhone.
    Goodluck all!
    Cheers.

  • IPod Nano 6g not syncing - Apple Mobile Device Support can't install

i recently got iTunes working again on my computer. my grandfather wanted me to sync his old iPod Nano, so i did that and it worked fine. i then tried to sync my own iPod Nano 6g, and it gave me the error:
"An iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the iPod, then try again.
If the problem persists, uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again."
i tried reconnecting the iPod, of course, and then tried reinstalling iTunes, but the same error kept coming up. if i closed iTunes, then connected the iPod, i could find it in My Computer, but after opening iTunes it would give me the error and eject itself. i then tried all the stuff outlined here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ituneshelp/?kbase=TS1363&viewlocale=en_US
but that didn't help. i tried plugging the iPod into the USB ports at the back of the computer, but nope.
i soon discovered that Apple Mobile Device Support wasn't running or installed on the computer, and that that may be the source of the problem. however, i looked in my C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple folder and there was a Apple Mobile Device folder. it didn't appear complete, though, as there wasn't the 'bin' folder needed to run AMDS properly. i renamed this Apple Mobile Device folder, adding an 'OLD' at the end, so as to not interrupt any times i would try to install AMDS in this folder properly.
i first tried a simple complete uninstall then reinstall of iTunes, but i noticed during the install that when the installer got to the stage of installing Apple Mobile Device Support, it would stop and then say 'rolling back action' and the loading bar would move backwards, before installing the rest of iTunes as normal. hence, AMDS was still uninstalled and my iPod still wasn't being recognized by iTunes.
i tried extracting the iTunesSetup.exe file, and then running the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi file separately, but it would give me the same rolling back action thing and it would end in 'installation interrupted, system was not modified, please try again later'. tried disabling my anti-virus then installing iTunes, then disabling my anti-virus and running the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi separately but nothing was different.
please help. why is Apple Mobile Device Support not installing? and is this actually the reason why my iPod is not syncing with iTunes? any insight would be appreciated. thanks.

On rare occasions on Windows XP systems, I've seen that effect produced when there are old files/folders for the netaapl.sys and usbaapl.sys drivers stuck down in your Windows Operating system folders. If that's afoot, the following (somewhat involved) procedure may be of some assistance:

  • Apple Mobile Devices Support USB Driver issue

While I am aware this is a somewhat common problem, I have already followed all suggested routes I've seen for fixing it, and none have worked. My computer seems unable to detect my iPhone at all, and seems to fail to install the AMDS USB Driver (though all other elements of iTunes appear to install correctly.
Here is some relevant information to help troubleshooting.
I have already stopped and restarted AMDS and enabled automatic startup (http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1567)
I have already uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and related services (Including AMDS) (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923)
I have tested all relevant hardware, including the iPhone itself, the connecting cable, and the USB ports that I've used, and all are functioning correctly (The iPhone can connect to other computers using the same cable, the computer can connect to other devices using the same USB ports)
I have the newest version of iTunes available (11.1.5)
While Apple Mobile Devices Support is installed, the USB Driver associated with it does not appear in the device manager. I have checked all folders in the device manager, including (but not limited to) Imaging Devices, Portable Devices, and Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
There are no "Unknown Device" entries in the Device Manager
My operating system is WIndows 7
Both before and after reinstalling iTunes completely, Windows is unable to detect the iPhone in any obvious way (My Computer screen, Device Manager, etc). The USB driver for Apple Mobile Device Support is not disabled, but rather does not appear at all.
What could be the cause of this problem? Is there a way to install the USB driver by itself without installing/reinstalling the related iTunes applications?
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

really? so apple.com arent checked by those who work on apple improvements? that would be kinda stupid im my ears. some comments here have an answer from ppl with an apple symbol, "specialists" they call them self. need some respons from them maybe.
i have tried everything, worked fine before the latest patch, so why cant it be a driver bug? they are humans too, they who make drivers. they just have to admit they had done something bad here, and solve it fast.
can i download an old itunes or something so i can atleast send my photos over.
the PC dont even say  "couldn't install driver" or what it says in english, nothing happends at all. the drivers are there.

I am trying to uninstall itunes and at thepiont where I try to remove apple mobile device support it never completes the timer goes backwards?

First try a repair install of Apple Mobile Device Support. If that goes through successfully, see if you can now uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support.
If the Repair install doesn't help, try using the fixit from the following Microsoft document to remove Apple Mobile Device Support:

  • The installer encountered errors before apple mobile device support could be configured

I'm having issues with installing apple mobile device support. Every time I try to install apple mobile device support I get this annoying message:
the installer encountered errors before apple mobile device support could be configured
I have tried these two ideas with no luck.
Had this issue, and none of the solutions above worked, here is what I did to fix the issue, Install Itunes like you normally would, admin rights ect. When you get the error message "Itunes errors occurred during installation before itunes could be configured" do not click finish, leave that folder up, no navigate to your appdata directory such as example C:\Users\Your Username\appdata\local\temp, inside there look for a file called iTunes64Setup.log or iTunes32Setup1850.log, open that up and scroll down, look for these key things as in example, "Executing: "C:\windows\system32\msiexec.exe" /i "C:\Users\Crusisxx\AppData\Local\Temp\IXP593.TMP\iTunes64.msi" INSTALL_SUPPORT_PACKAGES=1" so I would navigate inside the folder in my temp called "IXP593.TMP, there you will find all the installation packages, copy all of those files and paste either on your desktop or a new folder ect, once done you can now click finish on the failed itunes installer, now whether or not where ever you decided to place your files you copied from that temp folder you will want to run Itunes64.msi or Itunes.msi ect, and run the installer, you should now have successfully of installed Itunes.
Itunes 11.1.1 Errors occurred during installation...
I got it. I just first uninstalled iTunes then this:
1.Open up the Command Prompt as an Administrator (Go to All Programs > Accessories and Right Click on Command Prompt and then choose Run as administrator)
    2.Type cd C:\Windows\SysWOW64
3.Type regsvr32 vbscript.dll (This registers VB Script with your computer.)
4.Now install iTunes as you normally would by double clicking on the install program and wait for iTunes to finish installing.
5.Type regsvr32 /u vbscript.dll (This unregisters VB Script with your computer.)
Re: "This iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed."
What else can I do and why is it not working?

Try this: Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

I do not have the Driver folder in this folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support like it says I should and my Apple Iphone appears in Portable Devices only, not in Universal devices. I tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it. My Iphone is still not recognized by Itunes when I plug it in. I can see my photos in the internal storage folder on my Windows 7 system though. So I know my PC sees the device. The Iphoneis an Iphone 4 with IOS 6 installed. It was working fine until I had to reinstall my Windows system. Now Itunes does not see it. I've uninstalled Itunes and reinstalled it (64bit) to no avail. Where is the Driver folder article TS1538 talks about?

Sorry I missed your post. Anyone else with the same issue should find useful resources at Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

Yes another user with problem with Apple Mobile Device Support, I am getting the error message: Service 'Apple Mobile Device'(Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Vertify that you have sufficient privileges to start system service....I hit retry and it came up again. I hit ignore and it prompted me to hit finish so Itunes can open.   I looked thru alot of these posts on here to try and resolve this problem myself but it's not working too well...I downloaded Itunes to my desktop so I can right click it with the program i downloaded called WinRAR. I extracted it and then went into the folder called Itunes64setup. I saw the file called AppleMobileDeviceSupport64 in there so I began to try and download it on it's own. Well that didn't work as I planned and got this error message:
Apple Mobile Device Support wasn't installed on your computer. The installer encountered errors before Apple Mobile Device Support could be configured. Your system has not been modified. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again.
Well I tried to run it again and came up with the same message...I see that some people got great support to help them so I am hoping someone can help me as well. I know "b nor" is very qualfied and hopefully can help me! Please advise what I can do. Thank you

When I plug my iPhone 4s into my PC, I get a message that says iTunes needs a newer version of Apple Mobile Device Support. It wants me to uninstall both the AMDS and iTunes and then reinstall iTunes. iTunes won't recognize my phone and so I can't synch it. Thank you both. I suppose I should have prefaced my question with the concern that I've read a number of other posts from people who have had a similar issue and when they tried to follow the directions, they ran into a multitude of other problems. As you might imagine, I'm hoping to avoid the creation of new problems as I try to solve this one. Thanks again.
