where is the redeem Quick Links section of the Mac App Store whe trying to download OS X mountain lion?
Yep, I'm clueless again. You have to click on the "A" App Store icon on your Mac to get to the App Store. I had thought that I could get to the App Store thru the Apple Store. Silly me. I had to go to the local Apple Store to get some guidance.
The App Store icon should be in your toolbar at the bottom of your screen or you should be able to find it somewhere on your Mac. Then I tried clicking on Purchases like the Apple store guy said but my Lion purchase didn't show up there. Then I tried Categories and found Redeem there and maybe downloaded Lion for my old MacBook there but I haven't found it on my MacBook yet, so will have to do some searching. Oh, I had to go back to Purchases to do the download although the Redeem page said it was downloading Lion. Supposedly downloading now. Very annoying, this process is. Even Mickysoft seems easier to update.

I have the code for the free upgrade for my Air, but when following the directions in the email for redemption, I can't seem to locate the redeem in the quick links section of the mac app store.

I just purchased a software upgrade to OSX Lion. I received an e-mail that says, "To install your software, you simply launch the Mac App Store, click "Redeem"• found under Quick Links and enter your content code(s). How do I "launch the Mac App Store?"
Assuming you are running OS X 10.6.6 or later (10.7.x Lion, 10.8.x Mountain Lion or 10.9.x Mavericks), go to the Apple Menu (top left-hand corner of the screen)>App Store and it should become clear from there.

This is the Mac App Store forum, not the iTunes Store forum. This thread is about the Mac App Store. The redeem link isn't hidden at the bottom of anything in the Mac App Store.
Nor is it hidden in the iTunes Store. -

I have been using the Mac App Store from day one and have never seen this area of which you speak. There are a number of apps where the developer has created both a Mac version and an iOS version, but I haven't a clue how you would do a search of the Mac App Store to find them. -
Hi everyone, I have a macbook pro from 2008 which is the model before they became unibody. I have been having trouble using some of the built-in apps ever since i updated to 10.7.4. I cant use mail or the Mac App store becuase when i go to click on a link to purchase something in the Mac App Store of create a new email in Mail, the app just crashes. I am then asked to reopen the app and i try to do the same thing again and they same thing happens. Its really painful as i want to download applications and access my mail on my mac. Could you guys please get back to me on with somethings that i could try to get these apps working again.

Are you using the correct app store? If you are using the iTunes App Store, apps for iOS devices, then you need to switch to the Mac App Store, apps for Macs. The Mac App Store is the App Store app in your Mac's Applications folder. It can also be opened from the App Store selection in the Apple Menu. It also comes by default in the Dock. -

I upgraded my MBP to Mountain Lion. Before the upgrade, on both Snow Leopard and Lion, I had been using the Server tools (Server Admin, Workgroup Manager, etc.) on my MBP to administer my Xserve that is running Snow Leopard Server.
After upgrading to ML, all of the Server admin tools on my MBP disappeared. I assume the ML installer removed them.
I found a 10.8 version of Workgroup Manager that runs great on my MBP here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1567
I cannot find an equivalent version of the Server Admin (or "Server" as referenced here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1822) -
Can't follow a link to the mac App Store
If I click on a link that will be taking me to the mac app store (not the itunes one) I end up at "install the app store..."
I have it installed, I can be logged in and still I cannot follow a link, I end up having to search for whatever I was aiming for manually.

It requires a Mac running 10.6.8 to be installed. Snow Leopard can be purchased at the Apple Store for about $20.
