Where is the rest of my memory prstat -aL

Hi experts,
I am running out of memory on the system due to paging and, when I run "prstat -aL" the sum of RSS column does not add up. Where is the rest of my memory? Any pointers appreciated. Here is the data

When I add the RSS column should it total to my physical memory on the system. I have 80GB RAM on the system

If you have processes that utilize shared memory (like Oracle) the RSS for each process will reflect the shared memory allocation.

Hi CPI Pierre,
You can determine what is using the memory in your iPad Air by looking at Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage.
If you are having issues with insufficient memory you may want to troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

Hello Schimi. The Time Capsule is a kind of product that offer you two possibility:
- To use the TC as a router or as an external HD.
The difference between WPA and WPA 2 are:
- They are two kinds of internet connection.
WPA uses dynamic key encryption , which means that the key is constantly changing and makes the invasion of a wireless network more difficult than WEP . WPA is considered one of the highest levels of wireless security for your network and is recommended if your devices support this kind of encryption . Newer routers offer WPA2 security . WPA2 is compatible with WPA , but offers higher security level . In fact, it meets the high standards of many government agencies . If the router and computer support WPA2 , this should be your choice.
If you need any help or if you find some difficult setting up it you can contact Apple Support.
I am sure that they can help you with that.
I am sory for the delay. I holpe that you solve your issue.

First, empty the Trash if you haven't already done so.
Use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Proceed further only if the problem hasn't been solved.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
Back up all data now.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, then drag or copy — do not type — into the Terminal window:
sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
Press return. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

I thought a screen dump of the sttus may help picture what I am looking at.

Mike,
That article did seem to confirm that it is not as straight forward as it might seem. Since then I have deleted some of the TV episodes I downloaded on iTunes and the available storage has increased, so I can only assume that when reviewing in finder the files for iTunes are not shown and it would appear one has to go into iTunes to delete them.
I guess I may need to set up an external hard drive to store TV series etc as long as it is easy to transfer between the external drive and the MAC and subsequently my iPad as well, but that is for another discussion.

• When I open a new window only the history for that session is available. Where did the rest of my history go?

If I close out all my current window/tabs and open a new session the only history I can find in for that window. None of my past browsing history is available. Anyone have any idea on how to find the rest of my history?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

• Where's the rest?

Hi. Just got an ipod and am currently trying to learn how to use it... with no success.
The first thing that's annoyed me however is on my ipod status screen. This is a new 80gb ipod classic but it says that there is only 74gb free space. Is that normal? Where's the other 6gb that I paid for gone?
Cheers.
Gary.

This is perfectly normal. See this article for the explanation:

Post back with whatever your other problems are. You may also want to look at the How To section on this page:

• More All - where's the rest?

When I'm reading a long e-mail, why does clicking on "More all" only sometimes work to download the rest of the message, and at other times, just blink at me and do nothing, even though I'm connected to the network?

You will find that a hard reset will resolve about 99% of "quirky" issues with the BlackBerry. I am not sure of exactly what happens when a hard reset is done, I just know it is the first thing I try when strange things happen.

• Using WhatSize - where's the rest of the space?

Running WhatSize it tells me my hard drive has about 60Gb on it. However, my MacBook Pro tells me it has about 90Gb out of its 93Gb capacity. Where's the last 30Gb?

• Star Trek: TOS Remastered-Where is the rest of season one?

I bought a season pass for TOS Remastered and there hasnt been an update in forever, there have been plenty of season 1 episodes that have aired and have not appeared on the Store. Is there anywhere i can email Apple and complain. I would use feedback but i dont know what to choose. If anyone has details when the episodes are gonna be added please post back.
Thanks!

I emailed Apple and they replied with:
Dear Matthew,
I understand you would like to download the rest of your "Star Trek Original Series Remastered Season 1" season pass. I know this must be frustrating.
Generally, the television networks provide Apple with the latest episode of each show within 24 hours of the original air time. Occasionally, there can be a delay.
You can rest assured that Apple is working to make this episode available on the iTunes Store as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience. Apple appreciates your business and loyalty.
Sincerely,
Huy

Seriously, 24 hours. I've been reading reviews on the store and people were saying that the 11 same episodes have been there since before March, i wouldnt consider this a "minor" delay.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try deleting the problematic tune (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.
