Where is the RSS feed reader in FF5?

I added the "Subscribe to this page" icon to the Navigation Bar, but when I subscribe to a page, all I get is a measly drop-down menu for that page in the Bookmarks Toolbar.
Where is the full-page, formatted feed page that Firefox used to have? I did read the one question on this subject, but the answer was of no help.

Did you look at: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/845262 ?

Where is the RSS feed or Subscribe button in Safari 6?

Checked out some readers, but I'm more interested in a plugin for Safari 6.  Can you recommend one?  Is there one at this time?
I think the RSS feed was removed in Safari 6.

  • Where are the RSS-Feeds?

I subscribed some RSS-Feeds in my GroupWise fatclient and now i wanted to read them in my WebAccess. In the Webaccess documentation, it says:
Although you cannot subscribe to new RSS feeds in WebAccess, you can view the feeds you subscribed to and downloaded in the GroupWise Windows client.
Problem: I can't find any folder/feeds in webaccess folder-tree regarding to the subscribed feeds in my windows-client. Anybody the same problem / any ideas?

    Hi,
I do believe that this is a bug: Bug 719949
I can concur that the Feeds Folder is missing from WebAccess (GroupWise 2012SP2), and, as far as I am aware, Novell are aware of this and working on it.

Download the latest version (Lr5.3) from Adobe.com as a trial and when prompted enter the serial number that you have noted down from your other install or disk. If you haven't the disk now, look under Help>System Info in Lightroom on your PC.

  • RSS feed reader stopped working

    Hi,
I have an RSS feed reading function that worked just fine until yesterday.  I grab an RSS feed from google news using cfhttp and then parse it using XMLParse.  I am attaching the code below.
Does anyone know if anything changed at Google or somewhere else that would cause my code to stop working?  Instead of the expected results, I see the browser saying the page is loading but never get any results.
Perhaps there is a parameter I never set in the CFHTTP line and skated by without it for all this time.  It is definitely hanging up on the CFHTTP call.
    Thanks for the help.
With relation to the code, the search term I am using is "football" and the searchtype is "AND".

  • ITunes continues to give me a message that it cannot download my podcast from podomatic -- what am I doing wrong? I am following the instructions exactly and copying and pasting the rss feed.

Help! I've watched two tutorials and it appears that this should be so simple, but iTunes will not download my podcast that I host on podomatic.com. I've copied and pasted the RSS feed. What am I doing wrong?
    Thank you!

The feed itself seems OK and can be subscribed to manually in iTunes, and the latest episode downloaded OK.
However, on checking the URL of the latest episode's media file in Safari resulted in a download: it should play in the browser. Though forcing a download doesn't seem to upset the iTunes application, the Store doesn't like it since it needs to be able to stream the file to play it in the Store page.
It's also a requirement that the server can handle 'byte range requests' (where only part of the file is requested at a time instead of the whole thing) because this is the method used by iTunes. It was testing for this that showed there was a problem because I got a 'forbidden' error (in other words, because a download is forced it's not possible to request only part of the file).
It must be possible to get this straight on Podomatic since they handle a lot of podcasts, but you will need to take it up with them and check that it's been corrected.
The first test is to paste the media file URL into Safari's address bar and hit return: after a short delay it should play in the browser window. If it downloads you still have a problem.

  • How do I get the RSS Feed to work when loading onto server other than .mac?

Does anyone have any knowledge of this? I am uploading a site created in iWeb on to a Media Temple which of course, disables many key functions in iWeb. One thing it supposedly doesn't disable though, is the RSS Feed, provided you input the proper URL when publishing the site. However, after nearly 20 tries with as many variations on the url as I could think of, nothing seems to work. Anyone have any insight? Many thanks in advance.

    It takes two things...
    1. Entering the correct base URL in the Publish to Folder window, and...
    2. Uploading the correct files to your server
    Number 1
When you select "Publish to Folder", there should be a little text field where you are asked to enter in a URL. What you need to enter here is the base URL for your site, and in most cases this is simply your domain name: http://www.yourdomain.com That's it. Nothing more. iWeb will then take this URL base and generate a functioning RSS feed URL.
    Number2
When you select "Publish to Folder", you are asked to specify a folder INTO which iWeb will save the files necessary for the functioning of your site. You will need to upload only the CONTENTS of this specified folder, which includes only TWO items: an index.html file & your sitefolder. You must upload only these two items to your server WITHOUT the enclosing folder (the one you told iWeb to publish into.
If you satisfy the above two conditions (and only if you satisfy these two conditions), then you will end up with a functioning, automatically generated RSS feed from iWeb on your own server. There are other ways of achieving this endpoint (a functioning RSS feed), but this is the ONLY way to get iWeb to do all the work for you.

  • How do I get the RSS feeds to work in iWeb'08 when published to FTP server?

There are so many unresolved questions because I have published to an FTP server (Netfirms). HOWEVER, my next task at hand is to resolve the issue of a non-working RSS feed and download capabilities.
    The published website is www.vibrationalvoyages.com.
When using Cyberduck to upload to Netfirms, I have to call the file name vibrationalvoyages.com because Netfirms organizes my files under a main folder called www (I also purchased the .org and .net extensions along with the singular spelling of the title, have forwarded those url's to the .com extension, which means I have different website names under Netfirm's main folder www, all pointing to www.vibrationalvoyages.com).
I have to drop the www. in front of vibrationalvoyages.com when publishing to a folder on my computer so, when Cyberduck uploads the files into the main www folder, they are read correctly and published as www.vibrationalvoyages.com. In Cyberduck, the ftp address to upload is vibrationalvoyage.netfirms.com
Before uploading, I use iTweak to insert the Statcounter tracking codes. Then, I use Rage to optimize the site to cut down on the weight (lots of photos). Then, finally, I get to upload which takes about an hour and a half.
SO, HOW DO I GET THE RSS FEEDS TO WORK AS WELL AS THE OPTION TO DOWNLOAD AN MP3 RECORDED MEDITATIONS? I eventually also want to include the download option of podcasts.
Please help! I am doing the best I can to stay in love with Mac but he is turning out to be a pot load of work and the love affair is wearing a little thin.
I haven't even asked about why iWeb still calls some pages 'The family picnic" or why it switches the url addresses to the individual pages. Probably because in the early stages, I copied an entry rather than just do a new one... but I'll worry about that later. I want to get this 'fixed' first and then I'll address the issue, following Roddy's advice to another writer about installing a flash player, for easy download of the MP3 meditations and for when I record the lessons as podcasts. Until I get this RSS issue resolved, however, podcast downloads are out of the question!

    Thank you for checking, Tom,
I'm confused. What do YOU get when you push the feed button? And why is it working on yours and not either of my machines?
Today, my Mac (w/Safari 4) gets the same error message: Safari can’t open the page Safari can’t open the page “feed:http://vibrationalvoyages/vibrationalvoyages.com/DivineLight_Vibrations_Principles_andApplications/rss.xml”. The error is: “The feed could not be loaded because the content is not in a known feed format.”
My little ASUS (with a Linux operating system) gets a screen that says "The requested URL was not found". The URL on that page is http://vibrationalvoyages./vibrationalvoyages.com/DivineLight_Vibrations_Principles_andApplications/rss.xml
On both error messages, the URL I was checking was:
    http://www.vibrationalvoyages.com/DivineLight_Vibrations_Principles_and_Applications/Divine_Light_Vibrations_Principles_ andApplications.html
The last URL was, of course, the URL generated by iWeb.
    So, my question still is:
HOW CAN I GET MY FEEDS TO WORK PROPERLY? If the problem is there shouldn't be an http:// after feed: then, how do I get iWeb to set it up properly?
    Any ideas?

  • How can I include the article text/body in the RSS feed of the wiki updates section?

I recently migrated from Snow Leopard Server to Lion Server.  Largely, because some people had trouble accessing via their PC under SLS.
Our primary tool is the wiki.
In Snow Leopard Server, we could generate an RSS feed for specific saved searches or recent changes/updates, adjust article length in the RSS feed, etc.  Using a feed burner, like Feed My Inbox, we were able to have a daily digest "emailed" to a mailing list.  Whereby, we'd get an email of any wiki articles that had changed, along with text from the body, so we can see the changes to the article in the email.
With Lion Server, the only RSS "feed" we can find appears to be on the Updates page.  Which is fine. Are there others?
Second, the we can't seem to change the article "length" at all.  All we see on the Updates feed is the title, change date, who made the change.  We used to be able to see a few sentences of the article body/text for each article...not just the title, but some of the changes.
Of course, our feed burner, now only sends along the article title in the digest...no text beyond that.
We've used the built in push notification in Lion Server, but again, that sends a nice email saying Wiki Article Title "X" has been modified by User "Y" with the date/time stamp.  You can click the link to read more, but no article /body is sent.
Is there a way to generate an RSS feed/link that shows not just the recent updated titles, but the first few lines of text in the article body itself in the index/summary?
I appear to be missing an easy way to generate RSS feeds, based on search criteria.  And changing the article length in the sidebar, to max, never seems to show any of the wiki article.
How can I show a portion of the wiki article body/text underneath the title of the article in the RSS feed in Lion Server?  Not just the article title and changed date?

About a month ago, I spend zillion hours to migrate from Eudora to Mail.
Eudora has been wonderful to me since Day 1 back in the early 90's. But, it has been discontinued as a commercial product. I had used the Japanese version of Eudora for several years, but it did not like communicating with Exchange at work.
I tried and tried various email clients before settling on Mail.
When I pictured interactions among my Mac, iPhone, and whatever email client I choose, Mail was just the simplest way. But, Mail is not Eudora. And, I dearly miss Eudora.
If there is no way to alter the contents of received email in Mail, I would have to adopt your approach on a case-by-case basis.
    Thanks for your help, though.

  • We have a new Wordpress site, how do I add a description and artwork to the RSS feed of the podcast?

    Hello:
I am surprised I could not find this on a search of Google or Apple Support.
Our church has a new website created with Wordpress.  We have all of the functionality ready to go in order to have the RSS feed work with the itunes store.
However, when we submit the feed to iTunes, it says that we need to add a graphic, as well as a short and a long description.  I believe this used to be a part of the iTunes website submission process, however it apparently now needs to be a part of the feed itself, if I am understanding correctly.
So my question is where can I find instructions on how to add this in Wordpress?
Just so you understand, I am not in charge of the site itself... I am basically doing some research on my own to help out our programmer.  I am just in charge of uploading the weekly audio.
If anyone could guide me in the right direction, it would be very much appreciated.
    Randy

Wordpress can construct a proper podcast feed, including the 'itunes:image, 'itunes:summary' and 'itunes:subtitle' tags; there will be places to enter this data but I'm afraid I can'd advise on WordPress. It does seem to have a steep learning curve as we see more problems with Wordpress podcasts than any other creation method.
Unless someone who happens to have got a WordPress podcast working happens to see your question and offer information I can only suggest that you look for a Wordpress forum or some Help on it.
Although it won't help you with Wordpress you might like to look at this page about podcasting basics: it includes a sample basic feed so that you can at least see what one should look like:

  • How to get poster art in the RSS feed using Podcast Producer workflow

With podcast producer there are standard workflow which create atom feeds. I can not figure out how to automatically generate a poster image (or any type of images) associated with the video to show in the rss feed. Anyone got this to work?
Here is the feed of the test site:
    feed://switch.macsenior.net:8171/podcastproducer/atom_feeds/4C9A6B5A-4D09-4394-A 846-5407C8BF8FBD
I like to show poster art of an random frame of the movie.

You actually are publishing images. For example:
    http://switch.macsenior.net:8171/podcastproducer/feed_logos/4C9A6B5A-4D09-4394-A 846-5407C8BF8FBD.png
    http://switch.macsenior.net:8171/podcastproducer/attachments/4C9A6B5A-4D09-4394- A846-5407C8BF8FBD/2EFF4653-5E35-4F9F-B0D1-14C797DAB1C8.png
You aren't seeing these images because of the way Safari parses feeds. Try using curl from the command line or another browser. Safari and Podcast Producer really don't play well together. A good example is trying to use the SSL port to view feeds.
If you'd like to change the image to something common for all episodes in a workflow, select Window > Workflow Inspector in Podcast Composer. Be careful with your image dimensions, as it is posted unaltered.
