Where is the "save as" in Pages '09?

What happened to the "Save as..." in the File menu of Pages '09? How do I make a different copy of an existing document?

This is an apologists view that your process really works.
First of all Save As had many uses besides changing the
name, location, format in one shortcut.
Save A Version is weak because it does not allow any of
these abilities. If you haven't edited a file in a while it will
toss you into Duplicate mode. It is clumsy and misguided
if you are used to the Save As dialog to it's fullest extent.
Sadly, Apple seems to have crippled some of the fixes for
this. One fix that was broken with an update is going into
SysPref>Keyboard>KBShortcut>AllApps and create a new
Shortcut.

Where did the "save as" feature go?

I just opened up a Pages document, after my Lion upgrade. I want to use the orginal document, make changes and save as a new document. However, when I clicked on "File" to go to the "Save As," I discovered it is no longer there. Where is the "Save As" feature now. This is, obviously, a crucial need.

update: I was successfiul to create a keyboard shortcut for Duplicate not Export (my preferred.)

Where is the calendar wizard in Pages?

Where is the calendar wizard in Pages? Appleworks had one. Pages needs one too. I used it all the time. I have spend tons of time looking and have not found a replacement for this and I'm seriously irritated. I need to make monthy calendars for my organization. I recently bought a new MBP and love it but am so sad that I finally had to give up appleworks. I can survive with out the draw feature but this calendar this is really annoying.

There is one in Swift Publishing v3. Along with bleeds, proper master pages, imposition, quality settings in pdf exports and other useful features.

Where is the language setting in pages 5.0?

please can someone tell me where is the language setting in page 5.0. this is for the purpose of spell check, for example, change british english to american english, the word "personalized" is red-underlined because the current setting is in british english, how can i fix this? thanks.

hmm this seems like to resolve the problem only temporarily.
when i shut down pages and reopens, it jumps back to the british spelling. how can i make this fixed to the american spelling?

The Where in the save as dialog box

The Where in the save as dialog box is frustratingly limiting is there a way to change this so I can browse to the folder I want?

I recommend you get Default Folder. I've considered it a must have utility for my systems since OS9 Classic days. It greatly helps in navigation for the ever deficient file dialogs in OSX (and OS9).

Where are the alignment guides in Pages 5?

In the old version of Pages I could drag down or across from the ruler and would have an alignment guide. Where is that in Pages 5?

It looks like Apple took every feature that could not be supported in Safari out of Pages for mac.

Where is the action menu in Pagess? The "accepting changes" help says its all in the "Action Menu" but nothing is labled as the "action menu" Where is it?

I must confess, I didn't research the answer very well before my first response. It turns out that in the current version of the English edition of Pages User Guide, the phrase "Action Menu" appears 20 times. And to think I don't recall ever seeing it before.
My reading of the guide indicates that the "gear" icon with a disclosure triangle is an Action Menu. They are everywhere, in many contexts besides Tracking, and I always thought of them as the "gear" menu. Dale's graphic gets you close, but his capture isn't quite wide enough to catch the Action Menu icon. It's here:

Hmmm...that doesnt work for me; there is nothing listening on 7778 or 7777 on my 11g RAC Cluster.
Oracle wants me to install the Apache server off the 10g companion cd and create the dads...etc. Just like you had to do in 10g...
I can see it working fine with a single node; but not with RAC. If metalink's way is the only way, that means I'll have two disconnected http servers, both serving up the same DAD's, that doesn't sound like a really good idea.
Ok...anyone really know what the right answer is...I'll probably go with the metalink sr answer and install the 10g http servers (even though I don't like the idea), if no one has a better solution...

Where did the "Save As" choice go under File in the menu bar?

Running recently installed Lion OS with iWork '09 on my Intel iMac there is no "Save As" under File menu. Where did it go? What do I do instead? Also iWork '09 Apple Training Series book says Keynote Custom Themes created should be backed up and will be found in Macintosh HD> Users> [your home folder]> Library> Application support> iWork> Keynote> Themes. There is no Library folder in my home folder! There used to be. Where could it have gone? Where *are* the Keynote themes hiding? They come forth from somewhere when called for. And I'm having no success in finding them via Spotlight either.

Well, if you want to Save as a PDF, that's a different issue: simply go to File > Print. In the Print window, go to the bottom left and click on PDF, then on save as PDF..... give it a name and place where you want to save it:
If you want to save in a format other than PDF, choose Export and you'll have several choices (including PDF as well).

WHy can't I "Save as" in Keynote?

The Keynote 6.1 is somewhat disappointing with some good stuff. Anyways, in addition to the Duplicate, you can actually use the Save As function... it is hidden tho..
Go to Help, and do a spotlight search for "Save As", the long-missing "Save As..." menu item will be ranked at the top,... you will notice that through this way, the Save As does show under FIle and you can use it; HOWEVER, after you exit the spotlight.. it is gone and replaced with "Duplicate". To me, this is worse than Windows.
I am not sure if it is a bug or somewhat a setting issue... but Steve, please come back to us...

Where is the snap back to page function in Safari?

Is the the "Snap back" to page function gone? I cannot find it anywhere on Safari 4

Thanks. I can see that it is also useful in the search box but Apple should not have taken it out of the address bar. I use that function a great deal. The "Top Sites" function is nice but it doesn't replace the snap back function in the address bar.
Sometimes I think the programmers at Apple do not actually use the applications they work on.
Is there a request page I can ask Apple to put snap back back in?

New version of Pages forgot to include "Save As", on my "File" menu. So... "Save a Version" is useless. I need to save new stuff into designated areas! What the hey!???!
