The "Search" facility on iTunes is ridiculously inadeqate !!!
The iTunes Store has expanded in leaps and bounds but the "Search" facility has remained the same squatty little box where you can't find exactly what you are looking for and the "Results" display cuts off the end of the results !
What we need are proper advanced search facilities to cope with the size of the content now on the store !!!There is no power search for my own library, as far as I can tell. And the local search is easier to trip up with trivial mismatches than the store search.

And for some reason it doesn't like extraneous commas locally, but will take 'em in a store search. For example, copy-n-past this from some website into search in the itunes store...

...and get predictable results. Do that locally and you'll get nothing because it doesn't like the comma.
In short, in the 21st century you'd want a music library and store to have a music-specific search that is not easily tripped up by trivial mismatches, misspellings, abbreviations, punctuation and nicknames. Finding, say, which album contains a track I want, is easier on amazon than on itunes, just like using google to find things in wikipedia is easier than using the wiki search. And if an itunes search comes up empty, I copy-n-paste the search into amazon to see if what I'm looking for really isn't available or if I typed something trivially wrong. It's usually the latter. -

Photo albums are not searched by Spotlight Search. Go to Settings > General > Spotlight Search to see and reorder the available search items.

Where has the search function gone from the forums? I have been using it frequently lately because I am setting up a Powerbook 1.5 g4 with FCP 5.1.4 and it is the best way to find answers for "legacy systems" such as mine.

What are you trying to accomplish? There is a remote app for IOS that lets you control Apple TV. There is no reason for Apple TV to show in iTunes other then when restoring or as an AirPlay device.

I have just upgraded to Maverick and now I cannot find certain JPG 's . These files do exist however I can find them manually . I rely on the search facility and this is slowing me down, I am having to trawl through stuff to find the file I want , before I would put in part of the title and the machine would find it.

Thanks - checked that out - did not find my answer. I have an active i-tunes gift card that i registered in order to use my i-phone to download free apps. However, I am trying to find out if the "free" actually cost a fee against my i-tunes gift card because the i-phone will not download new apps suggesting the gift card is empty. To check the balance on the i-tunes gift card, you need a pin. I don't know where that pin would be, any suggestions?

where are the updates located for Mac App Store app? I don't think /Library/Updates is the only location. Because I'm now having 10+ of Apps reporting updates is needed, but only 1MB＋ files is located in /Library/Updates.
Please help!If so just use the search bar in the top right to search for the update you are looking for.
