Where is the "Selection Brush" in CC?

Elements 11 has the "Quick Selection", "Magic Wand" and "Selection Brush" for selecting areas in the image. CC only has "Quick Selection" and "Magic Wand". Where is the "Selection Brush". I'm sure its there somewhere, but I can't figure it out.
TIA
Mike

Hi,
The Selection Brush Tool is only in photoshop elements.
In photoshop Quick Mask would be what to use in place of the Selection Brush Tool
(similar to using the Selection Brush in the Mask mode)

where is the splatter brush in ps 5 extended?

Hi and welcome to the forum.
The Splatter brush is part of Photoshop's default brush set, so if you don't see it in the Brush library, just return to the default set by selecting the Brush tool and choosing Reset Brushes.

  • Where are the bristle brushes in PS CC 2014?

According to documentation PS CC has bristle brushes, but I can not find any brushes labeled such and no interface items to manipulate them as shown in the adobe-tv video: Working with the new bristle brush tips | Visual Design CS5 | Adobe TV
Do these exist? Where are they? And where are the controls described in the video? (which seems to be for PS CS5 btw)

on my system there are several default bristle tip brushes with small brush icons: flat point, flat blunt ... etc.
upon opening the brush panel for any of those with the brush icon, you can select from 10 different bristle qualities shapes.
if you don't have these default brushes, might try resetting the brushes (right click down arrow on tools icon on menu bar)

  • Where's the Desaturate brush gone?

Hi, in Ap2 I often used to use the desaturate brush to reduce how much background objects would stand out but now I've upgraded to Ap3 I can only find a saturate quickbrush.
Even if I turn the strength of this right down it doesn't have the affect of removing the colour like the old desaturate brush.
Am I looking in the wrong place, is it still there somewhere?
    Thanks,
    Dave

Go the the Enhance adjustment brick.
Take the Saturation slider down to the level you want.
Go the to the cogwheel button and choose 'Brush Enhance In'.
This will take the adjustment away and give you a brush where you can brush in the desaturated effect.
Unlike the desaturate brush in the old dodge & burn plug-in you can go back and tweak the settings at any time.

  • PREVIEW - Where is the "SELECT" toolbar pop-up menu?

I'm using Preview Version 6.0.1 (765.4) and MacOS 10.8.2.  I want to separate an image from its background. To do this I need to go to the Toolbar, open 'Select' and then choose Instant Alpha.
Problem is I can't find the Select pop-up menu.
    https://dl.dropbox.com/u/11373233/MacDiscussions/Preview/Screen%20Shot%202013-01 -26%20at%2015.21.47.png
Preview Help says "If you can’t see the Select pop-up menu in the toolbar, you may need to resize the window."
I've tried all sorts of window sizes but none have made the Select menu option manifest itself. I suppose that it's possible that my interpretation of "resize the window" may be different from Apple's.  But I don't know.
I've also tried Customize Toolbar in the View menu but the Select menu option isn't there to drag to the Toolbar.
I've tried resaving the file from jpeg to PDF and working on that instead, but still can find no Select option.
Does anyone know why I can't find the Select menu in Preview's Toolbar?

You may have to drag the image wider in order to see the instant alpha tools etc on the right side.
    There are 2 short cuts:

    Hi Leroydouglas
    Thank you for your reply.

First thing I tried. Made no difference.
    leroydouglas wrote:

Interesting point.  As I said, I have done all this of course,. Hence I doubted my interpretation of the Help Page instructions.
However I find, even now, that when I drag the right edge of the window over to what would be half way across my second screen if it were connected (it is disconnected right now because the monitor has died and I haven't replaced it yet) still all I can get are the options as far right as the crop tool.  That's it.
    There are 2 short cuts:
    shift-command-\   ( same as command-| )
    shift-command-a
I found them to be -
    shift-command-\
    shift-command-a ( same as command-| )
But, what the heck, who cares? Neither keystroke made any difference.
    Might be a clue though?
Again, thanks for taking the trouble to reply, Leroy.  Much appreciated my friend.

  • Where is the sprayer brush? / Personalize toolbox

I'm looking for the sprayer brush. To get it, I tried to personalize my toolbox but the option is no more there in Flash CC.

Nope, it's gone. Adobe took that out as well as the Deco tool and the Bone tool. Genius right?
For what it's worth, I heard they were just redeveloping them to bring them back at a later date but still. Stupid if you ask me.

  • Where is the 'selection' time in version 7!!!

In 6.5 and previous version you could make a selection and do <ctl>J (for properties) go to 'time' and the length of your selection would be there.
I use this more then any other feature when producing movies.
Did we lose it with version 7 or am I just not seeing it?

  • Bulk deletion of photos - where is the "Select All"?

This is a question for Apple after a couple of years of frustration and work-arounds
Using the camera connection kit I frequently suck in hundreds of photos to the iPad for viewing in the field. These go into the 'All Imported' folder
In a short period of time, this folder grows to a monster (currently I have some 4000 photos in it) and I need to clear it out as it stuffs up my tiny 64gb iPad.
ALL methods I have read to do this are frankly awkward and kludgy.  'Image Capture" has stopped recognising the iPad". I don't always have access to a 3rd device which doesn't already have these photos imported (thus blocking the 'delete after importation' approach). Furthermore it has taken me over a year to grok that you need to use TWO fingers to swipe multiple photos (in any case an ugly process when dealing with 1000s) not ONE as in previous version. Like most iPad/Apple users I had assumed that this 'feature' had quietly been dropped
The addition of a simple 'select ALL' button would save me and thousands of users countless grief. There are a number of other applications in which this would be useful (music) but it is the photos which most affect me.  it is a generic solution and compatible with the standard Applu UI metaphor.  Why in earth would you not put this in place?

On a Mac, you can use the Apple Image Capture utility to bulk process your iPad photos.
On a Windows PC, there is no Apple Image Capture utility. However, you can follow this procedure to bulk-delete photos from your iPad:
connect your iPad to your PC using the USB-cable that came with your iPad
open Windows Explorer, and open the DCIM-folder on your iPad
you will see a list of folders with "weird" names, which look like this example:Computer\iPad\Internal Storage\DCIM\838CPLYO
for each folder, open it, select all photos in it, and press the delete-keynote: you cannot delete the entire folder itself, you have to go in and delete the photos in it
A bunch of empty folders will remain after this procedure, which you cannot delete manually, but they will be automatically cleaned-up after you restart your Photo app on your iPad.

  • Where is the dry brush in the illustrator brush?

    Hi!
I am a beginner of Illustrator. I am using Illustrator CS5.
    Thank you.

There might be a "Dry brush" in the brushes libraries in artistic libraries. You can access those via the brushes panel (see manual on how to use it)

  • Where is the fuzzball brush in CS6

Can't find this brush. Which brush set includes it-- or is it no longer included in this version of Photoshop?

Looks like R_Kelly nailed the answer.  Somehow I hadn't noticed that one before, nor that it had been removed.
I did know that the 5 pointed star had been removed.  Seems odd that Adobe would drop brushes, rather than just add to the list.
If it can be helpful, here's a preset that contains both the star and the fuzzball, saved from Photoshop CS5...

  • Quick Selection Brush Tool

I have been trying to follow a fascinating earlier thread about changing the
background of an image. In news:[email protected] , Bob
Warren wrote, "I refined that somewhat again with the selection brush." I
looked this up in Help, where I was confronted with
    Quick Selection Brush tool options
    A. Quick Selection tool
    B. Selection Brush tool
In the Editor, select the Quick Selection Brush tool...
    and on the next page,
In the Editor, select the Selection Brush tool from the toolbox. You may
need to click the Quick Selection Brush tool in the toolbox and select the
Selection Brush from the list of hidden tools that appears.
What is the difference between a Selection Brush, a Selection Brush tool, a
Quick Selection tool and a Quick Selection Brush tool? And which one should
I be using to "refine" a selection?
    Noel

The quick selection tool and the selection brush are grouped together as a subset of the same tool in the toolbox. By default it shows the Quick selection tool. The sentence means that you will see the quick selection tool in the toolbox. To get to the (non-quick) selection brush, you must click the quick selection tool and choose the regular selection brush from the flyout menu.

  • CS5 won't select brushes the first time I click on them

    Hi,
I'm having some trouble with picking brushes to use in CS5. The first issue is that when I scroll through the different brushes available, if I hover over one for too long (in order to make the alt text with the brush's name show up), the brush selection will jump back to whatever I had selected previously, and I have to scroll through again to get back where I was. The second issue is that when I click a new brush I want to use, then move my cursor to the canvas, the brush resets itself to whatever I had selected previously, and I have to go back and reselect the new brush. (Sometimes more than once.) It's really messing up my work flow...
Does anybody have any idea how to make Photoshop actually select the brush I click on the first time I click it?
I tried reseting the brushes to the default, so that there weren't so many (I've downloaded quite a few) but this didn't help. I also tried restarting Photoshop. The problems are still happening.
For the record, I am using Photoshop CS5 on a Mac running OS 10.6.8. I'm using a Wacom tablet but also the computer's touchpad. The problem seems to happen whether I control the cursor with the touchpad or the tablet.
    Thanks for your tme!

Unfortunately I'm still having the brush selection issue even after doing this. (Though it did fix some other things that had been frustrating me, so thank you!)
