Where is the setting in LR 2.0 to turn on the view the embedded jpg file instead of rendering a thumbnail image from the RAW file?

Doug, this is a user to user forum so you get advice here from other users just like yourself.
AFAIK LR will show the embedded jpeg until it renders its own preview after that there is no way to get it to show the embedded jpeg.
When you are importing photos into LR in the import dialog box there is an option to show a preview of the embedded jpeg while the import is actually taking place.
Also this is the regular LR user to user forum and there is a link to the LR 2.0 Beta forum at the top of this forum. Maybe its best to post your question there.

Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. I used to have MobileMe but in the set-up process was told to turn that off, which I did but now most of my calendar events have disappeared after syncing with ICloud. How can I get my missing calendar events back? They are still on my 3Gs Iphone which I have not yet updated to IOS5.

Plug your phone into the wall charger for at least 30 minutes...make sure you have a sim card in the phone...then:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.
Make sure you have no anti-virus software running or any firewalls...turn all of that stuff off.

I'm not sure I understand the connection between iCloud and this problem. Is it simply a problem of coincidental timing (ie, the problem happened after you set up iCloud)? If so, there's almost certainly no connection between these two events.
Where are you getting the files you're trying to open, and what specifically happens when you try to open them?

Delete the app and reinstall it. It's not like the app has tons of stored data. You will lose your favorite locations and they are easy to set up again.
Tap and hold down on the app icon until it wiggles. Tap the X on the icon to delete it. Tap the home button to stop the apps from wiggling. Download the app again.

revert back to Maverick that is what I had to finally do. This was the worst upgrade I have ever seen. Hopefully you have Time Machine backup and can revert back. It was pretty painless except for a few issues. I will wait until Apple gets their stuff together on this upgrade or may never will.

- Charge the iPod for half an hour. Then reset the iPod:

Quit Safari.
Hold the shift key down and relaunch Safari.
Empty Caches
Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.

I want to change my e-mail address to the one I first had How can I change it? I do not need two e-mail accounts It should have read that when you are setting up an e-mail address use the one that you first signed up with. Not after you go through all the set ups for I cloud it tells you at the end to use your account that you first started with. Can you please help me I am new at this and I still can not set up on my computer with my phone to I cloud so if I had my phone stollen I can find it I also have and I pad to set up yet It is 3 days and I still can not set it up

If you selected open a new Apple ID account, go back a step and enter use existing Apple ID.
You will have to set up a separate iCloud account or your iPads will mirror each other.

Hello there, friendly internet stranger!
Okay, so I'm having a bit of an issue here... I'm trying to view my iPhone 4S's Files and whatnot on my laptop, (my phone is hooked up to the laptop, btw,) and when I click on the little "iPhone" icon, I am brought to the "Set-Up/System Restore" page. My iPhone is relatvily new, it's been working perfectly fine for a few months now, and I have it running on iOS 7.0, so I highly doubt it's the phone that's the problem.
But, I've tried tapping on the system restore, go through that process for about 15-20 minutes, only to be greeted by this screen of great evil, mocking me.
I've read somewhere on another fourm that perhaps resetting my phone to factory settings will help fix the issue, but I REALLY don't want to erase all my music, texts, ect. I really wish to know if there's another way. (plus, it seems kinda silly for all this trouble JUST to migrate a custom-made ringtone file... )
Is there a fix to this stupid bug? PLEASE HELP ME.

To have them all on your iPad at the same time you would need enough free space, which you won't have on a 16 gig model.
You might be able to download them on your computer's iTunes, possibly via the Store > Check For Available Downloads menu option, or by going to the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage. If you can you can then sync/watch them one at a time to your iPad, or stream them from your computer's iTunes to your iPad via homesharing : homesharing will need to be enabled on both your computer's iTunes (File > Home Sharing menu option) and iPad (Settings > Videos) ; both will need to connected to the same wifi network ; and iTunes on your computer will need to be open ; you should then get a 'shared' library option in the Videos app on your iPad
