Where is the start/boot information log of systemd?

system: Arch Linux 3.7 kernel
init: systemd
Hello, friends.
I saw there are some warning informations flash by screen when the system start.Due to the screen refresh so fast I didn't see the details information.
I have used dmesg to check the information but seems to have no. I think it is systemd proprietary informations.
I have searched /var/log but there is no useful information.
Where is the start/boot information stored?

  • To where does the LGWR write information in redo log buffer ?

Suppose my online redo logfiles are based on filesystems .I want to know to where the LGWR writes information in redo log buffer ? Just write to filesystem buffer or directly write to disk ? And the same case is associated with the DBWR and the datafiles are based on filesystems too ?

It depends on the filesytem. Normally there is also a filesystem buffer too, which is where LGWR would write.Yes but a redo log write must always be a physical write.
    From http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/ask/f?p=4950:8:15501909858937747903::NO::F4950_P8_DISPLAYID,F4950_P8_CRITERIA:618260965466
Tom, I was thinking of a scenario that sometimes scares me...
**From a database perspective** -- theoretically -- when data is commited it
inevitably goes to the redo log files on disk.
However, there are other layers between the database and the hardware. I mean,
the commited data doesn't go "directly" to disk, because you have "intermediate"
structures like i/o buffers, filesystem buffers, etc.
    1) What if you have commited and the redo data has not yet "made it" to the redo
log. In the middle of the way -- while this data is still in the OS cache -- the
OS crashes. So, I think, Oracle is believing the commited data got to the redo
logs -- but is hasn't in fact **from an OS perspective**. It just "disapeared"
while in the OS cache. So redo would be unsusable. Is it a possible scenario ?
the data does go to disk. We (on all os's) use forced IO to ensure this. We
open files for example with O_SYNC -- the os does not return "completed io"
until the data is on disk.
It may not bypass the intermediate caches and such -- but -- it will get written
to disk when we ask it to.
    1) that'll not happen. from an os perspective, it did get to disk

  • The letter "G" shows up in the start when I log in to my HTPC via SSH

When I log in to my HTPC via SSH the letter "G" shows up in the beginning:
    [ Neytiri ~ ]> ssh hund@<IP> -p <port>
    Last login: Fri May 14 08:54:06 2010 from [...]
    G[hund@Fjuppen ~]$
I dont have this problem when I log in to my server via SSH. I'm using zsh on my workstation and bash on my HTPC and server. If I use bash on my workstation and log in to my HTPC the problem doesnt occur.
It doesnt causes any problems, but it's disturbing that it's there and that I cant solve it myself.

I am not sure what the problem is, but I might know where you can start searching for it.
I have had a similar problem but it was when I tried to convert the official init scripts to C. I got a G at the beginning and It didn't seem like the utf8 support worked for the console (å,ä, and ö didn't work). The problem that I had was that I couldn't get /etc/profile.d/locale.sh to execute correctly from within the C program, it might be that zsh doesn't execute the locale.sh script correctly. I don't have a solution for the problem since I am still trying to solve it myself.
Anyway. the script is partly generated from line 372 in rc.sysint (pkg: initscripts 2010.05-3):
    echo 'if [ "$CONSOLE" = "" -a "$TERM" = "linux" -a -t 1 ]; then printf "\033%%G"; fi' >>/etc/profile.d/locale.sh
The generated /etc/profile.d/locale.sh looks something like this (it may of course look different but that depends on the utf8 and locale settings in your rc.conf):
    export LANG=sv_SE.utf8
    if [ "$CONSOLE" = "" -a "$TERM" = "linux" -a -t 1 ]; then printf "\033%%G"; fi

  • Where is the start of the audio file/recording?

I'm emailing mixdowns to a studio where they will lay the files to movie timecodes that I have specified in a cue sheet. I'm a bit worried that the timecodes are incorrect. The possible issue concerns the start of the audio files.
I recorded the tracks down to a stereo file, a region, that appears to start in the arrange at the correct point. But when you record, Logic includes some recording before the start of the region, before the Anchor, correct? And my question is this: when the files are opened in ProTools, does Protools see the Anchor, see the start of the region and ignore the bit before the region starts, or not?
It's crucial, because if it doesn't all my in-points will be out but over a second (by the amount of time before the region start that somehow seems to exist in the audio file.

    Hi
If I understand the problem correctly?

This can depend on how you did the "record down to a stereo file".
If you routed tracks to bus channels, then recorded the bus to another track, Logic will include the count-in in the audio file. As you say, the region in the Arrange will be correctly "trimmed".
One solution would be to convert these bounced regions to new audio files (Audio Menu), another to use Bounce Region (or track) in Place.
Alternatively, use a manually placed "2 pop" 2 seconds before the start of each cue.

  • Where is the failed login attempts log in ISE?

I have a client whom purchased Cisco ISE about a year ago.
The former NAC box was the Cisco ACS, which used TACACS.
ISE does not support TACACS, so I am using RADIUS instead.
We used to use ACS to query AD so that admins could authenticate to the switches on the network.
I am trying to get ISE to also query AD when an admin tries to login to the switches.
Where within ISE is the old Failed Attempts Log that was resident in ACS?
    thx

    Hi,

  • Where are the STARTER PAGE samples in Dreamweaver CS4?

Hi, I can't find the STARTER PAGE samples in DW CS4. Where
    they are?
The starter page samples are VERY IMPORTANT!!

Dreamweaver is supposed to by a WYSIWYG type program...
You've been misinformed.  DW has never been a WYSIWYG program.
The starter pages in CS3 were sorely out of date and inferior by today's standards.  Adobe took them out of CS5 until better ones could be created.  You'll find plenty of starter page resources below:

  • Where is the "Start New Row" check box when adding a div tag?

Ever since I updated Dreamweaver, when i add a div tag i no longer see the "Start A New Row" check box. The only checkbox i see is "Insert as a Fluid Element". Has this option been removed or has it been moved to a new location?

    Hi MichaelMuirhead,
We have updated Fluid grid in 12.2 release of DW as well as in CC release.
Unlike before, Now DW smartly recognizes when a Fluid page is open and Converts Structure category to Fluid layout category.
I.e. when any element is inserted from Structure category on to a fluid page it will be inserted with required CSS to make it fluid, Unless user advices otherwise.
The idea is to enhance the support for almost all the structural elements as fluid elements, rather than just supporting Div as a fluid element. Hence, Insert Fluid Grid Layout Div Tag has been removed.
Steps to Insert a fluid element:
    Select Insert > Layout.
Select the element that you want to insert. (i.e Div or Header or footer etc) 3. In the dialog that appears, enter a new class name, or enter a value for the ID. The selected element is inserted on the layout.
    4) To insert a normal/non fluid element uncheck 'Insert as fluid element' check box in previous dialog.
Now to answer second part of your concern " Regarding missing "Start A New Row" check box"
All the elements inserted on a fluid page, start in a New row by default. If user wants to place the element in previous row then in can be achieved by clicking "Move Up a row" button which comes up on FG element HUD, after inserting that element.
Please refer Screen shot for clearer understanding.
For more details on update navigate to: http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/fluid-grid-layout-dreamweaver .html
Here is the link to new Video on how to design a FG page using new FG in DW 12.2.
    http://blogs.adobe.com/dreamweaver/2013/02/updated-fluid-grids-in-dreamweaver.html
Please note that "Layout" Category in 12.2 has been renamed to more appropriate sounding "Structure" Category in DW CC.
    Hope it helps.
Kindly revert for any issues or concerns.
    Thanks,
    Puneet

  • Where is the default group information stored for a portal user?

    Hello -
There is a field in the WWSEC_PERSON$ table called DEFAULT_GROUP, and it is populated with an ID from the WWSEC_GROUP$ table but it seems like there is more to the overall picture here.
If I try to manually update a users group via SQL,
    UPDATE WWSEC_PERSON$ SET DEFAULT_GROUP = 318 WHERE USER_NAME = 'XXXXXXX'
Then check the portal profile for the user 'XXXXXXX' I do not see their 'Default Group' as being updated. (However the default group is in effect because these users are sent to the correct group when they log in.
What do I need to modify for the group name to show up for the user on their profile page?

    Yannick -
Thank you for the reply. Do you know which table is used in OID? Basically why I need to do this is we hire many new employees every week and create accounts in AD. We sync AD -> OID but the people who create the new users never inform me that they have been created so they never get a default group assigned. This causes them to go to the 'Portal Builder' page when they login to the portal.
To fix this issue Im writing a powershell script to automatically update the default group of all employees that do not have a default group assigned. Do you know if a better method I can accomplish this for bulk OID records automatically? I'm very much open new/better ideas this was the best method I could think of currently.
    Thanks again.

  • Where does the recommendations of pacman log?

When I upgrade the system, there is some recommendation to edit files in order the system work normally.

Some updates are non-trivial and requires extra steps so you risk broking your system and you wouldn't know the reason.  If you want some automation, add the -w switch to the pacman line so pacman will just download the packages and won't install/upgrade anything. That way when you'll be at your computer, everything will be ready for the upgrade.
    Why not?
It is work good from then.
What could go wrong that can not prevent in the regular way?
I guess that there will be no message like "this package could break the system", since if It like that, It will not added to the current repo.
Because as I mentionned sometime extra steps are required. For example, when we switched from devfs to udev or from initrd to initcpio, you needed to change your fstab and lilo.conf/menu.lst.  If you would had done your updates in the background, you would have missed the warning messages as I don't think you would check the message log every day. So you would have ended up with an unbootable system. Other examples: if you use lilo, you need to run it each time the kernel/lilo is updated. Another one:  when we went to the modularized xorg 7, paths in xorg.conf needed to be changed.
If it's the confirmation that you don't like, use the --noconfirm switch. Start pacman in a terminal then check it back later to see what packages it has installed and if there were important post-install messages.
If you really want to run pacman as a daemon, I can't force you to not do it.  I'm just warning you that potential problems can happen with this method.

  • Where is the HD icon information kept?

i like to know what file and where the information about the icon of a HD is kept. does anybody know?

right at the top level of the drive.
    open terminal and enter
    ls -la /Volumes/"drive-name"
put the name of the drive in the above
this will list the contents of the top level of the drive. there should be a file called something like .Volumeicon.icns. That's it. what are you trying to do? it's much easier to get this file from finder directly. Right-click on the drive and choose "get info". in the info panel select the icon in the top left corner and enter command+c . this will copy the icon to the clipboard. now you can apply to some other drive or folder or simply paste it into preview. open preview and select "new file from clipboard" in the file menu.

  • Where has the pre reg information for Pinks Album gone?

The information said it expires at midnight tonight and now I cant find it help!

I preodered a while ago, and got the album late sunday night. (I think the clocks going back made us get it an hour early)
Havent got a code yet. Looks like no one has. I rang Apple up, and obv no one there knows. It is an iTunes store problem, and there is no one you can speak to about it at iTunes Store, as they have no phone number or anything.
Ticketmaster don't care either, although they are still advertising it on their website, although the offer ended on sunday. If I remember correctly, we could only pre-book the tickets from 7am 31st to 7pm 1st.
So we have until them to get them. Who else is up for massive complaining if we don't get them?
