Where is the time display?

Aloha:
I am transitioning from last year's iMovie to iMovie 08 via a PDF entitled "iMovie 08 getting started".
There was one very helpful display in the old versions that allowed me look at 3 audio channels plus the video all at the same time. I was able to edit 3 sound channels for volume and for the other two I could place them where I wanted relative to the video (except for the audio channel that lived with the video, of course).
I cannot for the life of me find such a display in the new version. Can anyone point me to such a display in the new version? I sure hope so, as it was a neat feature that I will sorely miss if it's not there.
Thanks

iMovie '08 is not "track" oriented. You can, however, embed multiple audio "tracks" in your project, They are not, however, displayed until you actually add them. As you indicate, one or more audio channels is/are embedding the clip itself and not displayed. In addition, one or more audio tracks can be "pinned" (added) to the clip which are displayed beneath the clip. These may be "pinned" to start/stop on any frame of the associated clip but may not extend beyond the clip. A "background" audio file can also be added by dropping it to the "project" work area. Unlike the "pinned" clips associated with individual video clips, it can overlap several/all video clips in your project if long enough. Each clip containing audio can be a adjusted individually and, while there is no "rubber band" control, "ducking" of audio is also available.

My time display disappeared and the screen is stuck on master track. Any ideas? Thanks.

If the GarageBand application window appears to be messed up, parts missing, or in the wrong place, it might be a problem of corrupted preferences files. Try to repair permissions and to remove the file "Your Home Folder/Library/Preferences/com.apple.garageband.plist" from your user library.
See HangTime's fix for "oddball problems":
    http://www.bulletsandbones.com/GB/GBFAQ.html#oddballprobs
(Let the page FULLY load. The link to your answer is at the top of your screen)
Is your profile signature "GarageBand '09, Mac OS X (10.5.8)" still current, John? If not, and you are now using Lion or Mt. Lion, the User Library will be hidden.
Then you can reveal it from the Finder's "Go" menu:
Finder > Go,   then hold down the options ⌥ key, until the Library appears in the drop-down menu, select it and open the Library folder. Then go to the "Preferences" sub folder and remove com.apple.garageband.plist.

So I have been using my iPad for a few months now and I recently noticed that the time display next to the playlist name in the music  app that is supposed to display the total song count and time of a playlist is way off. I have a 25 song playlist that is around 2 hours on my computer appears as 2003 minutes on my iPad.  It's a smart playlist limited to 25 songs if that makes any difference. Is this happening to anyone else? Any help would be appreciated!

    Greetings,
First make an iCal backup, File > Export > Archive.
Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
__NOTE: Removing these files will remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
Once the computer is back up and running open iCal and test.
    Hope that helps.

  • Where is the "Icon Display Period" attribute stored?

    G'day All,
I have a procedure that needs to referenece the "Icon Display
Period" attribute for a particular content area (this is normally accessed via
the Content Area properties page). Try as I might, I cannot track down
the table/column that stores this little gem of a value:-( Anyone have
any ideas where this might be located?
    Cheers
    Kal.

    G'day Sharmila,
Thanks for your quick response:-) Unfortunately neither WWV_THINGS nor WWV_CORNERS
seems to contain what I'm looking for (either that or I'm really missing something here).
My understanding is that WWV_CORNERS contains information about individual folders.
I use this table to get the UPDATEDATE and CREATEDATE attributes to which I want to
compare the difference between the current date and the "Icon Display Period".
WWV_THINGS seems to contain information about idividual items but I'm only really
interested in folders for the moment.
Now "Icon Display Period" seems to be a content area wide property. The default is 7 days.
I've looked at tables like WWSBR_ALL_CONTENT_AREAS and WWSBR_ALL_SITES
but they don't seem to hold very much information at all:-( Hmmm ... just looking at the Content
Area Properties page and there seems to be quite a lot of information there. Surely It must
    be stored somewhere?
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Kal.

  • HT201250 Where are the Time Machine step by step instructions?

I'm looking for the screen shots of how to even start setting up the time machine. I see the instructions for once you get there, but it doesn't do me any good if it can't show me how to start. This should be easy to pull up. This is a Mac. This should be fairly straightforward. Right? So, why no instuctions on how to start Time Machine, its options, settings, and all that?

    System Preferences. Time Machine.
System Preferences is something you should know about if you do not. You can access it from the Apple Menu, and it is a default item in the Dock.
I have no idea where there are screen shots.
There's one slider and two buttons. Not really a lot to look at, or be confused by.
The slider says ON and OFF.
    One button says "Select Disk"
    The other says "Options..."
If you wish to select a disk, choose "Options..."
    Just kidding.
    There are no "magical options."
    For Step by step instructions:
    To turn on Time Machine:
    1. Slide switch to On.
    To turn off Time Machine:
    1. Slide switch to Off
To select a disk to use:
    1. Click Select Disk.
    2. Select a Disk.
    To Remove a Disk:
    1. Click Select Disk.
    2. Select Disk.
    3. Click Remove Disk.
    To exclude Items:
    1. Click Options...
    2. Click Add (  + ) button.
    3. Select folder to exclude.
    4. Click Save.
    To remove items from exclusion:
    1. Click Options...
    2. Select item
    3. Click Remove ( - ) button.
    4. Click Save.

  • HT201250 (1) Where is the "Time Machine menu" and the choice to "Enter Time Machine" (mentioned in the "Restoring data from Time Machine backups" section)?

    1) Where do I find the "Time Machine menu" and the choice to "Enter Time Machine" (as mentioned in the "Restoring data from Time Machine backups" section in the Mac Support article "Mac Basics: Time Machine")?
    2) How would I restore e.g. a particular photo from a backup I made with Time Machine? I can see how this is done with Word documents, but can't see how to do it with photos?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
    1. The Time Machine icon is on the menu bar.
    2. If you want to do that with individual photos, it's the same way as for documents. If you want to do it with iPhoto, you have to restore the whole iPhoto library, not only one photo

  • HT2513 I am using iCal 5.0.1.  I want the time displayed in 24hr format. I would also like to schedule events in 24hr format.  Any suggestions on how to do this?

I am using iCal 5.0.1.  I would like to have my time displayed in a 24hr format instead of 12hr format.  I have already set my computer to display time in a 24hr format.  How do I do that?

    Hello all,
I'm still having this issue and would really like any suggestions if anyone knows of any. Basically, I need to view my calendar that doesn't have any events so I can change the password and get any new events for it.
Because the calendar app does not show the calendar in the calendar listing if it doesn't have any events (not smart btw), I don't have a way to change its information. And attempting to re-subscribe gives me the error that the calendar already exists.
Is there a way that I can view "all" calendars even if they are hidden or don't have any events scheduled for them so that I can change the login credentials? This issue is on the calendar app version 6.0 build 1645 on my mac os x laptop.
I know there has to be a way to do this but I just can't seem to find it and googling is not turning up any results. Even searching my my keychain for the login information and the systems preferences has not shown me anything.
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks

  • Where did the time zone selection go when making an event in Calendar?

So in iOS5 and iOS6 there was an option to select the time zone the event was going to be in when creating it in the Calendar app.
Now in iOS7 it appears it is no longer there unless you turn time zone support ON.
I want to be able to have time zone support OFF like I had in iOS5 and 6 and still have the time zone selection option when creating events.
I'm at a loss for why this option was removed. Is there any way to get this back? My coworkers are having issues creating meeting events when out on the road and figuring out the right time zone +/- when moving between time zones.

You can middle-click a tab with the mouse scroll wheel to close that tab.
Did you try Save mode to be sure that it is not caused by an extension or theme?
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Where is the time stretching butten that makes it easy to time stretch with the cursor in premiere elements 13 ?

Why doesn't preimere elements have the option to trim the clip but the triming is in a matter of fact of - time stretch ?  In premiere elements 10 there was a butten you could press and the curser became a trimer for time stretching.  If there is an option like this in 13 I'll be happy to hear about.  Thanks,  Oren

    Oren
What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 13 running on? Background information for now.
In Premiere Elements 13 Expert workspace, you can access Time Stretch from the Tools Menu or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+R to bring up the Time Stretch dialog.
If you are interested in creating slow and fast motion effects, also see Time Remapping feature found under that Tool Menu.
As for the Premiere Elements 10 Timeline workspace, there is an icon (Time Stretch Tool with the keyboard shortcut X) I see no such icon in Premiere Elements 13.
Clicking on that icon in 10 will allow you to increase or decrease the duration of the Timeline video selected. And, if you go into the Premiere Elements 10 Edit Menu/Keyboard Customization, you will find a "Time Stretch Tool" command with the given keyboard shortcut X. At least, I do.
Even if I try to trigger a hidden "Time Stretch Tool" in 13 with the "Time Stretch Tool" shortcut X, I cannot. And, there is a Premiere Elements 13 Edit Menu/Keyboard Customization/ command Time Stretch Tool with keyboard shortcut X.
As for whys in Premiere Elements 13, you would need to take that up with Adobe who decides on the feature set for a given version. This is a user to user forum.
If you want to file an Adobe Feature Request Bug Report Form, you can use the following link
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&loc=en
I have found some interesting hidden commands/keyboard shortcuts with exploration and experimentation. So, I may do some more exploration on this to rule in or out
any possibility of a hidden Time Stretch Tool feature in 13.

  • Where is the time signiture in my movie workspace?

I have been an iMovie user since the first version, I use iMovie every week to edit video for my church.  I tried the newest version of iMovie this weekend and realized that the work area no longer shows the time signiture as I scroll through my video.  Is there a way to turn this on or is it another option that we have lost in this version of iMovie?

I don't think this will help as I have not found the time signature on the time line so I think you are correct in that this is another "feature" that Apple doesn't think we are worthy enough to have anymore.  But I did discover that to get the clip date/time you have to select the clip, then select Adjust and in the adjust options click on the i icon (for info).  This will then give the date/time for the clip selected.
Another great "I just works" but actually doesn't work step backwards.....

  • HT201250 Where does the Time Capsule pick up the name shown on the icon when it is backing up?

I had a problem with Time Capsule, it backs up both my wife and I's iMac.  When we got the problem resolved, the backup icon on my wife's iMac was the same as before but the backup icon (the icon that shows when it is actually backing up) changed the name to just Time Capsule Backup, instead of "my name, backup"  How did that happen and how do I change it back?

There was nothing there I could find that tells me about where the icon which appears when a backup is started gets its name.  It's not a big deal I guess (or I don't think it is) it's just that I wonder why it changed my named icon after a reset and not my wife's.  Some things just don't make sense and if it had my name on the backup icon before, it got it from somewhere.
