Where is the Virtual Network Manager in my Hyper-V under Action in my Hyper-V Manager

Hi there - I would not say I am a novice at creating environment within Hyper-V. I have built or should I say created, and then deleted several virtual environments. I am familiar with the process of creating virtual hard disks, virtual machines and then
selecting the appropriate switch etc.
To make a long story short I was having issues connecting my servers this time around. Worked fine the last time I built this same environment. I was researching various blogs and TechNet articles and they mention a "Virtual Network Manager."
I do not see it on my first laptop. I have other selections under the "Action" menu in my Hyper-Manager window but not a Virtual Network Manager. Went to my second laptop and that feature was missing on my second laptop too.
Where or how do I see it?

Hi Peter,
"Virtual Network Manager" is used in 2008/R2 hyper-v .
In 2012/R2 it is named "virtual switch manager" .
They are a wizard to create/manager virtual switch .

I was just reviewing an ASUG presentation from Soledad Alvarado Ganzhorn of SAP NetWeaver Product Management at SAP Labs. It describes a value lifecycle manager tool that includes:

Is anyone aware if SAP is using this tool already? Will customers get access to it? This sounds like a replacement for the business case builder which I haven't seen either. It would be nice if customers had access to these sorts of discovery tools. Since we don't utilize SAP consulting, we are often not able to access this content as we initiate new initiatives. It would be nice to have access as it seems like we are internally selling their software for them.

SAP has nominated select Partners that have access to the tool. You can probably check with the SAP partner relationship manager in your organization to see if you have access to this tool.

Finding the wireless network manager utility

how do i access and open the wireless network manager on my imac?

On my 10.6.8 iMac there's an inverted triangle at the top right section of the screen. Click on it, and a drop down menu will appear. Click on network preferences> a window will appear>click "Turn Airport on" and start managing. Hopefully,your Mid 2007 is similar. How do I get rid ofl the "Killer Network Manager"?

I'm never on a wired LAN, always on WiFI, so I don't need this useless "network manager" starting whenever I start Windows. How can I get it to stop starting itself?
My laptop is a GE70 2PE 010US Apache Pro.

Uninstall the Killer LAN driver, then follow runningman's post to install only Killer driver.

Where is the "Guest Network" Setup?

All,
I picked up a new Airport Extreme (AE) from our local Apple store this afternoon. I have been wanting to move our Drobo to a shared USB port, as well as have the option for a "Guest Network". We have lots of Geek buddies and relatives over on the weekends and evenings and I have never liked giving them access to our wireless network, and all that has to offer.
Out of the box, to completely setup (except for the guest network) including sharing the Drobo, Bridging to our FIOS Router, and re-configuring our primary wireless network took less than 20 minutes. (I was VERY impressed) And the network is really quick!
With that said, I can not find anywhere to setup the guest network???? There is no tab, Icon or option under any of the settings in the Airport Utility.
What am I missing here?

o AirPort Utility > Manual Setup > AirPort > Guest Network
The AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) must be configured to "Share a public IP address" for this tab to appear in the AirPort Utility.

Where are the Virtual Screens?

Hi,
I downloaded the latest ARD 3.5 from the App Store Today...
The main window shows all of my other computers on the net and the macs
all show ard 3.5.1
I am running Lion on all of the macs.
I can select any of the macs and hit the contol button and get the screen of
the target mac ok...
The help file asserts that I should be able to use a virtual display
to log into one of the other macs without disturbing the current user
I cannot find any way to invoke the virtual display mechanism.
What am I doing wrong.

Ok,
I found some virtual screens ....
If I attempt to connect to any of the macs from one of my linux boxen via vncviewer I get
a login screen.
If I choose a different user and I start typing the password BEFORE the cursor
flashes three times I can actually login as a different user. If nothing is typed
quickly the cursor quits flashing and nothing works....
Looks like there might be a timing problem.
When I log out I cannot do any more connections from the login screen and have to
kill vncserver to try again.
When I try to connect to a mac from one of my macs and choose the virtual screen
the login screen pops up on the target mac !
The source mac gets a black screen.
If I change back to the hardware display I see the 'rotating' screen one face is the
regular targets screen and the other face is the login screen from the target machine.
Looks like the mac gets confused about which screen should be displayed on
either machine if the virtual display is picked...

actually discussions are of two types in portal...one you start at any folder or document level and second is you start under ur HOME role in discussion .
First type of discussion is stored in /collaboration repository and second type of discussion is stored in /discussiongroup repository. you can find these repository in content admin -> km content

Where is the virtual images directory for an ORACLEXE HTMLDB installation?

Hi,
I've already got a standalone installation of HTMLDB which has an /images/ directory on my file server containing all gifs/themes/templates/css files etc. I've created an application that I'm going to use for my business and I've changed some of the underlying giff's and css files.
On another machine I've just installed Oracle Express Edition (as it's free for commercial use) which has an integrated HTMLDB environment, that is the same as the standalone one as far as I can tell, except that it does not appear to have an /images/ directory stored on the file system??
I've done a complete search and nothing is found. If I type http://127.0.0.1:8080/i/ into my web browser all the files and directories are displayed! Does any one know the location of these files or how the HTTP listener is translating /i/?
I need to mod these existing files in order to correctly display my business application from my other standalone installation of htmldb.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Where did the "Guest Network" go?

Running 5.6 AirPort, no longer a tab to select.

That is not a valid setup. That is not router mode.. if you want TC to have guest network it must be in router mode.
When you do that, guest network will appear.

Am I the only one having a problem with the latest network manager?

I mean, it's working, but once in a while it slows down heavily after a longer suspend-resume cycle. As in, it takes about half a minute before it even starts scanning. It started after the update yesterday or the day before. The systemd journal doesn't list any problems. I know how to setup wpa_supplicant manually and have used that kind of setup for a long time, I'm just wondering if this is a bug that needs tracking down.

I have no issues with suspend-resume cycle with networkmanager.

i can give the details but as a reply by Brandon RecordsModerator already applies the short details are: that the entry for Hyper-V in windfows features doesn't allow "Hyper-V Platform" to be ticked and is greyed out.

Problem solved Bradon had it right but i didn't realize the sequence to be followed mattered and when i turned virtualization technology on and booted HyperV platform was available

That could mean a couple things. First you need Windows 8.x Pro (or Ent),
not just Windows 8.x.
The second is that your hardware does not have the required features,
(VT-x) and/or SLAT, or that they are not enabled in your BIOS. You should
contact the PC's manufacturer on that.
There's no way to bypass the checks for hardware or OS from powershell.

I agree, the use of profanity is completely unnecessary, we've all been in the stressful situation before, it still doesn't call for it.
The network you're receiving an APIPA IP on, is it the virtual switch you setup when adding the Hyper-V role? If so you can get the warnings to go away and subsequently hide the adapter by unchecking the 'Allow host to manage this adapter' setting
in the virtual network manager of Hyper-V manager on each node.
Tim is also right, while disk resources are only owned by one node, you'll see the mount points for CSVs located under C:\ClusterStorage.
More importantly, you're logon issue sounds directly related to group policy. I had the same problem moving to Server 2012. Yes, it's an annoying process but in the end you will have a working cluster. I did the following steps:
1. Install 'Group Policy Manager' on one of the nodes in your Hyper-V cluster
2. Log on to the node you installed it on with a Domain Admin or appropriately endowed account that can edit the GPO relating to 'Logon as a service right'
3. Edit the GPO where you specify who can logon as a server, OR if you don't have one, make a new one and link it to the OU with the Hyper-V nodes
4. Add permission to that right for 'NT Virtual Machine\Virtual Machine Group', save and exit
5. As an optional step I would reboot the nodes so you make sure they get it
The problem here is that security group ONLY exists on servers that have Hyper-V installed on them. If you add the group on a machine that has it to the GPO, the SID for the group is saved and each Hyper-V host will know what group that is. The
problem you're having right now is most likely related to a GPO changing 'Logon as a service right' to your needs and setup in Group Policy. When a Hyper-V node starts up, it automatically adds the right for that group to the local security policy, however,
group policy's auto refresh will remove it after a certain amount of time.
