Where is the "welcome" video?

On my MacBooks first start, there was a little welcome video that is used to set up the laptop, does anyone know the name of it? I'm trying to find it in spotlight.

Have a look at
/System/CoreServices/Setup Assisiant/Contents/Resources/TransitionSection.bundle/Contents/Resources/intro. mov
Not sure if it will work (I am on a PC at the moment)
I got this from http://forums.macosxhints.com/showthread.php?t=67316.

  • Can't get past the Welcome video - It loops over and over

    Short and skinny
    I bought a family pack
Installed on Intel iMac by clicking continue all the way through. Which makes it an upgrade right? That went flawlessly and all is good.
    Now the problem.
I have a Intel MacBook that I tried to install Leopard on. I did want a fresh install because I just wanted to start from scratch. So I changed the option to do that. Started the installed and got the big check mark at the end of it. When I went to click "Continue" and it froze up. The countdown timer stopped at 23 sec. left and it sat there for 10 mins. frozen. I held the power button till it shut down. Turned it back on. I got the welcome video and then it asked to select language for the install.
No matter what I did, once I clicked the mouse button to contine, the pin wheel spins for a few seconds and the video starts over again. I did it about 10 times and it never passed that point.
I restarted it a few times with the same results. I thought I would try and do another install from scratch. I restarted it again holding down the C key till I got the first screen of the install. It let me select the options I wanted and continued to the install. After about 15 mins. or so it stopped and a screen popped up with a bunch of code on it. Tried THIS about 2 more times and by now it was about 3am and I was tired. I shut it down and this is where I am at. Its at home and I can't mess with it till I get off work.
Any advice on what I might try when I get home about 8pm tonight will be most helpful.
    Thx, Jim

    Any help???

  • I do not have the Firefox button in the top left hand corner as shown in the welcome video. This button seems paramount to carry out many of the features. How do I get it?

In the welcome video there is an orange Firefox button in the top left hand corner - I do not have one. This button appears to be central to the use of Firefox.

The Firefox Button acts as an alternative to the regular menubar (File, Edit, View etc.), so if you can see the menu bar you're not missing any functionality.
On Windows XP the default is for the menubar to be shown instead of the Firefox button, but you can switch between the button and the menubar via the View -> Toolbars -> Menu bar option.
With the Button enabled, you can access the regular menubar by pressing the Alt key.

  • To delete or at least to mute the Welcome video in...

    Hi:
I would like how I can delete (or at least mute) the Nokia Welcome Video that appears after you enter your PIN in a N70.
I did change the welcome to a personal message, but the Welcome Video keeps appearing everytime I enter the PIN.
    Thanks
    Alberto

Tony T1. Thanks that's great for my Desktop. Do you know the answer for how to do the same thing on the iPad 2?

  • Clean Snow Leopard Install yields the Welcome Video to loop continuously

    Has anyone seen this before?
Mac Mini (MA468LL/A) with a clean Snow Leopard Install. After I kicked off the install, I returned an hour later to find the Welcome Video looping continuously. There is a brief moment at the beginning (or end of the video) when I can move the mouse on the screen with a grey background.
Now, no keyboard combo's work at bootup. I can't boot to the DVD again, I can't clear the NVRAM, etc. I can eject the DVD, but only when the unit is looping the video.
Any help would be appreciated, Please!
PS - The only thing different from a typical install was this - I deleted the previous Leopard partition using the the Disk Utilities.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
After ejecting the DVD and shutting down your Mac, can you restart normally? If so, then you could wipe the partition again and re-install.
Also, have you tried starting in single user mode. At the prompt type fsck -fyremember to leave a blank space before the "-fy".
This will run a file system check, like Repair Disk and repair any problems if it can. If you run into errors run fsck multiple times until it reports OK.
Then, type rebootreboot  to restart to OS X.

  • Where did the Home Video tab go?

I have a MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009) running Yosemite 10.10.2 and iTunes 12.1.50.  I also have about 900+ home videos taken by my various cameras and encoded using HandBrake or iMovie over the last 10 years.  30 of these movies have been on my phone for over a year and I regularly watch them.
I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS8.2 last night by doing a restore as if a new device.  This was recommended by a tech at the Apple Store since so much of my phone's  16GB was taken up by the operating system.  After that, I suddenly had more than 3GB more free space.  Yay!
But - right away, I noticed that only 3 of my 30 home videos had synched.  I had those 30 in a special playlist so I wouldn't have to sort through the other 870+.  I decided to remove them from the iPhone and try again, but it didn't work.  So, I decided to remove them from the playlist and add them again.  That's when I noticed that I cannot find the Home Videos tab in iTunes on my Mac anymore.  It was there earlier last night because I had just added new ones to iTunes (visual confirmed they were in the Home Video tab once added to library).  I tried to import all 900+ home movies, and it seemed to do something - but I still can't see them.
I tried to search for "Home Video" in the iTunes help menu - no hits.  I always use "Home Movies Favourites" as the Genre for the 30 I put on my phone, so I tried searching for that in the movie search box.  Nothing found again.  I tried searching for individual file names.  Nothing.
So - where did Home Videos go and how can I get it back?  My files are still on the hard drive, but I have spent hundreds of hours updating the tags in iTunes with irreplaceable info like dates, locations, memories, etc.
Apple - please stop making such drastic changes to iTunes every time we just finish getting used to your other changes!

Hello! I said... I want the ability to input analogue video into my camcorder so I can continue to transfer VHS and input and record video from other sources. The new HD cameras on the market will not allow you to record video from any source except for the lens.
I have HD cable box. I want to record my HD programs from cable (HBO, Starz, etc) to my camera, download the video to my Mac from the camera and then edit them in iMovie and create professional looking movie DVD's in iMovie.
iMovie HD can work with mini DV HD cameras and HD video. I was not aware of a system requirement for working with HD content.

  • Where are the Auidio/ Video Settings

Capture tells me to adjust the Audio/Video settings. Where are these settings and what do I set them to.

    John,
Set the Easy Setup to AVCHD 1920x1080i  50 or 60 for PAL or NTSC respectively.
Save a Project with these settings assuming your footage is AVCHD.
File>Log and Transfer over USB should do the job.

  • ARGH! Just finished setting up machine & now I'm getting the Welcome Video!

    Hi,
    ARGH!?*@!
I am really hoping someone can help me with this problem.
I have spent some time building a disk image for an academic music lab at my work. I was getting all the software working together & all the prefs set right etc.
The last things I did were to install a MIDI driver (MOTU USB driver if it is of any significance) & chagne the desktop picture to a custom one I had made.
I log out of my standard user account & start getting the 'Welcome' to Mac OS video.
    ARGH!?*@!
The network screen already has my (previously configured) TCP/IP details.
It then invites me to create a user. At this point I thought I would try & create a user that I could just delete once I had got past this but at the end of the create a user process I got an error:-
    "could not create standard user"
(or words to that effect). And the video starts over.
    ARGH!?*@!
At this point I hold in the power button for 10 seconds & on restart zap the P-RAM.
Mac OS boots & the new user video appears.
    ARGH!?*@!
Can anyone at all help me by telling me how to get past the setup procedure back to users I ahve already set-up??? Any help would be hugely appreciated.
    Many thanks in advance,
    Neil.

Open the Terminal application in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder and run the following:
    ls -ln /Users/
Both instances of l in the command are lowercase Ls. In one column of the results, you will see numbers such as 0, 501, 502, and 503 in any order. Note down each folder and the number associated with it; the Shared folder and the one for the new account you created don't have any relevance here and should not be noted down. Next, follow instructions 1 through 11 on this page followed by section 3 here. The Setup Assistant should then reappear; when prompted, recreate the account which had 501 associated with it. From here, use the Accounts pane of System Preferences to recreate the accounts which had 502 and 503 associated with them in that order. If no folder had one of those numbers associated with it, create an account with a different short name to hold that number's place, and then continue creating accounts until all three accounts have been recreated with the numbers originally assigned to them. If one or more of the folders you saw(apart from Shared) has a number below 501 associated with it, post back.

  • Resetting a new Mac to play the Welcome video at first launch

I just bought a refurbished MacBook Air to give as a present and I wanted to go ahead and get it charged and updated to iLife 11. Now (if it's possible) I would like to reset the MacBook so that when it is unwrapped the recipient (who has never owned a Mac) can have the "Welcome" experience that you get with a new Mac. Is that something I can do or not?

Not sure if this works with new versions of mac OSX, but take a look here:

  • Where are the online videos?

    http://tv.adobe.com/m/#!/show/getting-started-with-adobe-photoshop-lightroom-5/
The links in that page are all the same. They all link right back to that same page!
How does one ever break out of this self-referential nightmare, and get to the actual
video: GETTING STARTED WITH LIGHTROOM 5 ?

I figured this out, right after posting the question, of course. You have to click on the tiny "Lr" icon by each entry. That takes you to the actual video. I think this is a poor web page design, and Adobe should do better for us poor beginners, and not fill a page with links to itself. But, there you go.
    Cheers,
    Big Papa

  • Where's the HD video camera app on 4s?

No HD Video app anywhere to be found.  What's up??

    What do you mean?
There are not two different cameras/apps.
The hd video is the only video.

  • Where's the HD video??

Since getting my iPhone 4s, I've been messing around with some of the new features the phone offers.  Since Apple claims the new phone shoots 1080P HD video, I wanted to test it out for kicks.  The result did NOT look like HD video to me.  Is there some setting I need to set up for it to shoot in HD?

  • Where is the home video tab for movies on the ipad in IOS 8?

    Hello -
I have an ipad air and am running the most updated version of Mavericks, Itunes & IOS... I cannot get my "home videos" to actually physically copy to my ipad after updating to ios 8 — nor find an answer as to how to get them on there. The tab where they once were in the videos application has inexplicably disappeared since I updated my ios.
The only route I have to watch home videos is select, in the video application on my ipad --> "shared" --> "itunes music library name" — which means they can only be accessed if my computer is open and sharing the videos from my itunes library. You can see in the screenshots that even though in Itunes it says that the videos are taking up space on my ipad, there is no home videos tab in my video app. Instead the only option is sharing.
This is INCREDIBLY frustrating! I cannot access the videos unless I have itunes open and it slows my computer down. I feel like I must be totally missing something as no one else is having this problem as far as I can see -
    HELP!
    Elizabeth

The availability of certain item in a certain store depends on the will of the copyright holder, it's not Apple's choice not to offer them.
    And in addition:
In order to buy from a certain country's iTMS you do need -
    * either a CC with a billing address in that certain country.
    * or an address in that certain country plus a gift voucher/prepaid card issued by that certain iTMS.
If you don't meet one of this conditions there is "no go".

  • Where is the optimize video for iMovie 10??

    Hi,
I have HV20 HDV camcorder with bunch of older tapes.  I had iMovie (8 or 9) before where I used to get specific options for importing the tapes.
For example, I could choose save location, add to or create new event, split days into new events, and optimize video.
Now under the new iMovie 10, I don't see most of the above options.  And before you say use the older iMovie, I've looked under the application folder and I can't find the older iMovie folder.. Just the new version 10...
    So I Need the:
    1. Split days as new event
    2. Optimize video option. (So that I can make sure I'm importing the maximum quality/ full/original size not a lower bit rate.)  How do I know the new iMovie is importing the highest quality and not downsampling as the older iMovie had other bitrate options..
Please tell me where I can find the older iMovie 9 to download and install (again, I can't find it in my application folder), or tell me where I can find those options in the new versions.
    Thank you

I agree but it's not there...
I know what it should do but the reality is something else at this point.
    Any other suggestions?
Do you know if iMovie 10 just imports at the highest possible resolution? I don't know why iMovie 9 had the option and now the new one doesn't...
    Tx
