Where is this "Authorize" button?

Ok, so this is probably a really stupid question, but I really have been looking!
I just got a new Sony Vaio laptop with Windows 2000, and installed iTunes. I have iTunes on another computer (which is where I downloaded all my music), and the "you need to Authorize these songs" pop-up appeared. I keep reading that there is some button under the "Store" button that says "Authorize" or something, but there's nothing.
I've also read that you can click on one of the songs that is not authorized to play, and choose "Authorize", but the only problem is that none of the songs from my nano have been uploaded into my Library, even though my nano is currently connected to my laptop via its USB cable, and it's hard to select something that isn't there...sigh
What am I missing here?

How did you buy a new computer with Windows 2000? Or is it a used computer that is new to you?
Start iTunes, go to the Store menu on the top and a list should drop down you should have Deuathorize and Authorize listed.

WHERE IS THE AUTHORIZE COMPUTER BUTTON THE DIRECTIONS KEEPS TELLING ME IS RIGHT ON THE ITUNES STORE PAGE BUT I CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
If you have iTunes 11, the menu bar is hidden. To show it, hold the Alt key, and then, choose the Store menu (on the menu bar) > Authorize this Computer.
You can also find the iTunes Store menu by pressing the button at the top left corner of the iTunes window

  • HT1947 WHERE IS THIS "REMOTE" BUTTON IN ITUNES????? I CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE AND CANT FIND WHERE TO PUT IN THE CODE!!!!

I CANNOT FIND THE REMOTE BUTTON ON THE NEW ITUNES TO ENTER THE PIN FOR PAIRING MY REMOTE. HELP ME

Greetings tc414, I experienced the exact same problem as you and was able to find a solution. You are not crazy, the docs are there like you said directly from "apple help" when looking for "remote". Clearly visible to anyone who actually cared to take the 20 seconds required to look. And yes you can connect with an android device fairly easily, most of the time.
In my case I had 5 devices paired with itunes which is the limit so the itunes button did not display at all. to clear this I went to "preferences" "devices" and there should be an option to "forget all remotes". It would of course be nice if you could manage these individually but hey it's itunes and thats how it is. Anyway click that and restart itunes. When I did this my remote button magically showed up again and I had no problem pairing my GS3 running the paid version of "remote for itunes" for android. By the way I also pair my ipod and as far as instructions go they are the same for either device. Remote for itunes an android is quicker though.
Good luck and I hope this works for you!
    Cheers!

  • Where is the authorization button on the store?

I feel something is messed up because I cannot find it or it is just out of sight. It's the most recent version and I'm on Windows 8.

    Hi JCJJN,
Click on the Alt key to display the menus. Once they are displayed, you will see Store. Click on that, and you will see a dropdown with "Authorize This Computer" on it. Here is a link to tell you how to permanently display the menu options:

In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

I can't find the deactivate button. I know you need to go to Help > deactivate. But where is this help? On Adobe or on my computer?

Open whatever application you wish to deactivate and from the top toolbar choose Help -> Deactivate.  If this is for a Creative Suite then just open any one of the applications that are in it and deactivate thru that - it will deactivate the entire suite.

  • Where did the "Stop" button go on the Navigation Bar in ff4? It isn't included in the Customize box. Is there anyway to install the "Stop" button for loading web pages or is this option compeletly gone from Firefox now?

Just installed upgrade to Firefox 4.0. Where did the "Stop" button go on the Navigation Bar. I checked the Customize dialogue box and it isn't included. Is anyone else missing it? Is there anyway to install the "Stop" button for loading web pages or is this option completely gone from Firefox now? It was a very helpful button and allowed us users to stop a web page and move on if it wasn't what we needed.

In Firefox 4 by default the Stop, Go and Reload buttons are combined and attached to the right hand edge of the location bar.
When you are typing in the location bar it will show the Go button. When a site is loading it shows the Stop button. At other times it shows the Reload button.
If you want separate buttons, right-click on a toolbar and choose Customize, you can then drag and drop the stop or reload buttons and place them elsewhere. If you place them in the order "Reload-Stop" on the right hand edge of the location bar they will be combined again. For more details on customizing the toolbar see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/How+to+customize+the+toolbar

  • HT1420 Where is the "authorize this computer" function?

Where is the "authorize this computer" function in the iTunes store?

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Altrenatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:
